Heartwarming / Blended

• Lauren with Jim's girls:
  • Taking Hillary to the beauty salon. Not only does it attract the attention of Jake like she wanted, but she gets to act like a girl for what implied to be the first time in a long time.
  • Holding a chair and bringing a plate of food for Espn's mom. The look on Espn's face and her subdued "thank you" is incredible.
  • Simply acting like a mom to Louise, doing things like fixing her makeup and doing her hair properly.
  • While helping Lou to sleep, she sings "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to her. Unknown to Lauren, the girls' mother used to sing that song to them. Lou looks shocked, but quickly joins in and holds Lauren's hand. Espn looks worried at first, like Lauren is taking something that used to belong to their mother, but softens after a warm smile from Hillary. As Lauren leaves, she kisses Espn on the forehead.
• Jim with Lauren's boys:
  • Telling Brendan that he respects his attempts to protect his mom and helping him to stop the constant whining when things don't go his way.
  • Bringing Tyler on the ostrich ride (and both on the AT Vs), helping them get beyond their worry wort of a mother.
  • Jim helping Tyler learn how to bat and gain confidence on the field by rattling the pitcher.
  • Showing up at Tyler's baseball game after his dad skipped out. Instead of the usual strikeout and meltdown, Tyler hits an inside-the-park home run to win the game.
• All five kids encouraging Jim and Lauren to get together after the Africa trip.
• Jen setting aside her discomfort with children and blending into Dick's family with his five kids. Even driving the hated minivan.
