- Absol saving Hunter J from Ash's Judgment. Not to help her, but to keep Ash from having a life on his conscience.
- Speaking of Hunter J, the fact that she mellows out after being turned into a Hisuian Samurott and becomes part of Dawn's team while she was in Hisui is both somewhat heartwarming and a Heel–Face Turn for her.
- The fact that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves hint at the future relationship between Ash and one of his companions by calling one of them their mother is heartwarming as, because they hadn't been created yet, it suggests that Ash may end up no longer being a Truly Single Parent.
- Ash is shown to become increasingly upset of how little recognition Giratina gets, leading him to announce himself as her younger brother to the Lucario Kingdom instead of Arceus' son.
