Rickles and Joey’s mutual attraction and trust of one another, likely due to them both coming from a military background. Unfortunately, their relationship doesn’t go any further than that as Rickles is slaughtered by Abigail.
After spending some time with Abigail and trying to bond with her, and saving her life, Abigail vouches for Joey when her father returns home and permits her to leave. She genuinely wishes her luck in reuniting with her son unlike before when she was merely mocking her.
While Abigail's "See you around, Joey," could be interpreted as ominous given the events of the film, there does seem to be a somewhat positive bond between the two. Abigail may want to visit the one human who knows what she is but still cares about her, and maybe even befriend her son.
Kristof and Abigail, despite their faults, nevertheless truly care for each other. While twisted, part of Abigail's motivation with exterminating her father's rivals was an attempt to get him to love her.
Doubles as a bit of a Tearjerker, but when Frank is draining Abigail in an attempt to kill her, Abigail locks eyes with Joey and holds up her pinkie, harking back to Joey pinkie-promising Abigail that she won't let anybody hurt her, Joey fulfilling this promise after everything that's happened is ultimately what earns her Abigail's respect and saves her life.
