Headscratchers / X: A Fabulous Child's Story

Go To

  • What is up with the school in this story? It holds a spelling bee, a relay race and a cake baking contest all in the second day of school and first graders participate at them. Spelling bees always take place towards the end of the year in real life and while first graders are allowed to participate, they would at most only know how to spell and write a few short words by the second day of school. They would also not be trained enough to complete a relay race unless they trained before, but unlikely unless they spent some time to train for it at school. While some schools have cooking and baking activities, they wouldn't host any contest until after they thought children how to cook or bake. Also, how did X become the president of the student council, when in actual schools (at least most of them) they don't even let first grades join the council with the lowest hierarchy position, let alone allow a first grader as their student council president, since older kids have more maturity, better writing and reading skills which are necessary for official documents, are more likely to have experience as members of the councils and are far more likely to have leadership experience, thus making them better candidates? Being right that you should not conform to gender stereotypes and being popular does not equal a good leader in terms of general student concerns. Why would most kids even want to elect X? If most of them admired X and agreed that you should be yourself, regardless of societal rules, wouldn't that imply that a good chunk if not all candidates for the student council would hold the same beliefs and advocate for it during their campaign while also being more experienced as mentioned?
