Headscratchers / The Ultimates (2015)

• The Secret Empire tie-in shows Carol and her team constantly fighting waves of Chitauri. However, each time they are only able to take down a few of them, with the rest crashing into the shield and dying. Why are Carol and her team even defending the shield? If the Chitauri attacks aren't harming it at all. They could use their time to get out of their way and try to find the source of the Chitauri and stop them, but apparently, they would rather risk their lives for no absolutely no reason whatsoever.
  • In Ultimates 2 #7, Carol explains that she was told by Hydra-Cap that the shield was malfunctioning and they needed to intercept the Chitauri. In actuality, the shield worked fine and this was a ploy to get the Ultimates into space where they couldn't mess with Hydra-Cap's plans on Earth. After that, the Ultimates spent the following attacks defending the Alpha Flight station, which is not protected by the shield.
