  • Why wouldn't Jorgy simply make a speech that if they vote to liquidate the company the town loses jobs and that's bad? Surely, the stockholders and workers must overlap to some degree.
    • They did. The shares owned by the workers were the ones Jorgy knew he could count on to vote for him. The fact that people would have lost jobs if Larry liquidated the company was probably the only reason Jorgy got any votes at all.
