Mort is how old?
- Mort is stated in the fourth issue to not have taken his SAT yet, and his three futures hinge on how well he does on them. If Mort is in high school, and with broad-strokes time given between the current grade he's in to the time he takes his SAT's, how old would this make Mort? Also factoring in is that he has endulged in underage drinking AND underage smoking (the smoking part is entirely anecdotal, happened once, and mentioned in passing), effectively making him younger than 18.
I Love The Dead
- Kimberly suddenly has feelings for Mort after he dies, but the reason why she does is very foggy. Could it be that she finds his sacrifice poetic, as she is a poet? Is she trying to ape sympathy and attention from Mort's buddies by saying she was close to him? Or could it be that she felt regret for being the indirect cause of his death and wants to make up for it?
A bloody trade
- Who even is Teen Death? He is the son of Death, but this isn't the same Death as in the rest of the Marvel Universe, this variant being portrayed as male. Is is possible that his mother is the Death we are more familiar with, and that he simply did not grow up with her, choosing to be raised by his father instead? Is Teen Death of a particular race of psychopomps that include him and his father? In the first few pages we see of him in the Netherworld, we see a few different nameless characters that might be of his race, with skeletal traits like him. Does this mean that he is of a different race than Death in the outward MU, and Death in Mort is Death to a certain subdivision of the afterlife that the former does not control?
Mistake Beach mistake?
- Where in Long Island is Mistake Beach? The Babylon Express is most likely called that due to it serving as a route to Babylon, New York, but the Babylon Branch only stretches across two counties: Nassau and Suffolk, with stops in Queens and Lynbrook (both are limited service). Is Mistake Beach in the Amityville area, possibly in reference to The Amityville Horror? Would this make Mort and his cohorts residents of Suffolk County?
Mystery Wednesday Placement
- Over how long of time does the comic take place? A week? Two? How long was Mort in the Netherworld before his funeral? It is explicitly stated that Positive Feedback performed on a Wednesday night, but it still doesn't mention other date-related details like when the auditions were held or if the band practiced any days beforehand (most likely not). It's not mentioned on what day of the week or calendar date Mort died either, so assuming if the comic takes place in the Spring or Fall (Summer couldn't be possible due to school occuring) is a bit of a challenge.
