- What is is with all the superheroines (Kwaidan, Bette Noir) being attracted to bad boys in this story? Is it part of the "deconstruction of superhero" tale, or is it that they're not really interested in nice decent people?
- Bette Noir explicitly points out that her loving relationship with Gil felt "boring" and "safe" which is why she felt drawn to the broken soul of Plutonian. Kwaidan on the other hand, chose the more assertive brother, not a bad boy. Sy loved her in return and was by all accounts, a caring man.
