• Why does Helck take so long to tell any of the demons about the winged humanoids? When he first appears, the demons weren't even aware of them; having advance warning (and knowing their true nature) would have helped immensely in the early battles against them. And Helck doesn't seem to have any reason to keep it a secret, since his whole goal is to help the demons fight them.
  • Very likely he saw the whole thing as his own burden to bear, and as we've seen in later chapters, it took him a long time before he could even share his story with Anne, because by that point he knew that she could be trusted.

• On two seperate occasions Rafaed offered to let Helck leave and live out his life far from where the war would effect him, the second time around he even told Helck he could take Vamiro with him. So why the first time around in the past when Rafaed offered this mercy to Helck, he didn't say he could take Alicia with him with a promise they would not use her in the coming war with the demons. Just take her and go.
  • Because there'd be no point. Alicia very likely wouldn't want a life like that, instead encouraging Helck to fight on.
  • I'm talking about a post awakened Alicia whom the King can very easily command into wanting a life like that, thats why I said "Promise not to use her." She was already turned when Rafaed tried to reason with Helck the first time around to just 'leave and not look back'.

  • But Helck wouldn't want her to be mindcontrolled. Both Alicia and Helck aren't people who'd simply abandon their friends; if she were to make a sudden turnaround, Helck would notice. And Alicia isn't the only person in his life; his friends are still important to him, and he's still pissed at Mikaros for what he did to Cless. He doesn't exactly like what happened to humanity either. In the end, even after everything he lost, he still tried to fight on; they had to send him into a warpgate just to be rid of him. If they tried to bargain with him, that would just motivate him further - if they can give him Alicia, why not his friends? If they can give him his friends, why don't they just fuck off and leave the rest of humanity alone too? Obviously they're not going to do that, and Helck would fight them about it, which is the last thing they want. That's why they're trying to push him so deep into despair that he either gives up or loses control; anything else won't work. He's too much of a goody-two-shoes to let them do their thing, and too strong to just ignore or easily defeat.The second time Rafaed is making that offer to Helck, he's trying play on Helcks trauma in the vein of "you lost everyone once already, if you continue with this shit, it's going to happen again. We don't care about you personally, so stop making your own life hard."
