Headscratchers / Cinderella (1997)

Why is Calliope the only person at the ball (apart from the prince and Lionel) not wearing pink/purple/blue? Literally everyone else is wearing one of the three, including the royals (again, except Christopher and Lionel, who both wore white to stand out), Cinderella herself, Minerva, and the stepmother. There's not a lot of people in pink, but you can see a few women in pink dresses and a few men with pink waistcoats, and Minerva wore pink. Her dress only stands out because of the material it's made of and its design. But it's still in the apparent dress code. The mother wears purple, of which you can see many people in, and her dress is close in colour to Queen Constantina's. The king is also in blue, but slightly greenish compared to his wife's. But Calliope's is just flat-out green. Why??

  • Maybe she thought she would capture the prince's attention better if she dressed differently than everyone else. Or maybe she wanted to start a new fashion trend. Or both.
