Headscratchers / American Arcadia

Go To

  • Arcadia's citizens are convinced to be still living in the 70s, but given that the show has been going on for 55 seasons, how can Walton Media still maintain the charade? Do they reset the calendar every 10 years or so?
    • Presumably they had at least one chance to muck about with the timeline when it came time to change locations from Old Arcadia to the dome, and as part of their "retro-futuristic" aesthetic, they could voluntarily do bizarre things with the calendar — add decimal places to the year, use Elijah Walton's birth or death dates as some sort of metric, something — and justify it to the citizens with "this is how it works in the City of Tomorrow". Part of the behavioral conditioning could also just be a mental suggestion to not really care about the date.
    • The weather and seasons never change, right? Shouldn't be impossible to screw with the calendar; it's not like Arcadia's citizens ever notice anything anyway.
  • What happened to Trevor's family? He never mentions parents, and a news clipping in the credits implies Arcadia has baby farms, but Trevor indicates he's known his neighbor since he was a kid, meaning someone must have raised him, even if not his biological parents.
