• In the second issue, a delirious Barry mutters that he "forgot which Flash he was"...a fourth-wall knocking joke on the fact that Alex Sinclair has given him Wally West's red hair. Research failure, or does Sinclair REALLY want Wally back as the main Flash?
• Adam Strange’s cameo in the third and fourth issues of Superman. The entirety of Earth has been transported to the Phantom Zone, and Adam's just returned to find empty space where Earth should be. He begs his fellow superheroes to stop messing with him already.
• Lootings begin breaking out during the Phantom Zone debacle. Then Superman shows up to tell them to knock it off. The looters instantly run back into the stores to return what they stole.
  Looter #1: I told you.
  Looter #2: Oh, my god. I hate you.
• Jon asking Clark if he likes Batman the way he likes Lois in Superman #4.
• Jon returns and he and Clark go to see Lois. Lois is in her underwear and a bathrobe, and starts acting seductive when she sees Clark. Clark immediately slaps his hands over Jon's eyes. Lois herself quickly covers herself in embarrassment.
• Superman agrees to let Kara take Jon on a mission. Once he gives permission, Superman has this look of utter horror as he realizes "Lois is going to kill me."
• In Superman: Villains #1, set after Superman has revealed his identity to the world, the Joker sends Lex Luthor 98 consecutive voicemails◊ just to laugh at him.
