  • When she visits the Musgroves, Anne sits quietly as every member of the household—her sister, Charles, Mrs. Musgrove, Henrietta, and Louisa—talks her ear off with complaints about whichever member of the family she was previously listening to.
  • When Anne, having received Wentworth's letter and come over all faint, goes out into the street looking for Wentworth with Charles, and almost immediately meets him, the two of them are standing there finally knowing exactly how they feel about each other while Charles is cheerfully and obliviously burbling away about some gun he wants to go and have a look at. (This is straight out of the novel, too.)
  • Anne turns down Mr Elliot's non-marriage proposal in the most casually off-hand way:
Mr Elliot: Have you thought any further about my offer?
Anne: What offer was that, Mr Elliot?
Mr Elliot: My offer to flatter and adore you all the days of your life.
Anne: I haven't really had a moment, Mr Elliot, to turn my mind to it.
  • Corin Redgrave's performance as Sir Walter was hilarious, dropped r's and all. Doubles as a Casting Gag because Corin Redgrave was a very active left-wing political activist playing an Upper-Class Twit.
Sir Walter: [to Wentworth] Anne? You want to marry Anne? ...Whatever for?
  • And from that scene, the way Wentworth looks as though he's fighting back the impulse to laugh, which is paired with Harville looks at him with a much less-restrained expressions that screams "WTF is it with these people?"
