While the North Western Railway Tales aims to be realistic, it does have its funny moments.
General
- Most characters are nearly 100 years old (some, like Edward, older than that), and still suffer Laser-Guided Karma moments at times.
- Starting in the eleventh season, NWR1991 decided to add a sequence that plays at the start of each video to avoid COPPA marking the video for kids (see main page for information why). It’s as follows:Thomas: To all those people watching, I'd like to remind everyone that this video is not made for kids. It's for older fans and adults. Enjoy the fucking video!
Season 4
- The sheer humiliation of Constable Barnaby in The Ffarquhar Constable. Serves him right.
- The climax of Tender Engines Don’t Shunt. Gordon frustrated with having to shunt his trucks gets the brilliant idea to couple his trucks by pushing his current trucks towards them. However the train is rather long and thanks to a foreman putting the turntable in the wrong place, some of the trucks fall into the turntable.
