• One of the montages features several clips of Herb explaining a complicated play to the team. Once he's done showing them:
  Herb: Alright, any questions. (silence) Good, let's go. (walks towards the ice as the team stands still)
  Buzz Schneider: What the hell is he talking about?
  Rob McClanahan: No clue.

• This exchange while Herb is showing them a video of the Soviets:
  Bill Baker: Do these guys ever smile?
  Jack O'Callahan: They're Russian, they get shot if they smile.

• During one scene at an airport, Herb is on the phone with his wife Patti telling her they had a minor accident (the plane hit a moose during while taxiing onto the runway), and Herb has to reassure Patti several times that the moose is fine.

• During the team's Christmas celebration, the team gives Coach Patrick a toy whistle while Herb gets a whip.
