• When Constable Kocklenlocker decides to let Norval escape from prison, he has his daughters tie him up to make it look good, and asks them to hit him over the head with his billy club. Trudy is too tenderhearted to do so; Emmy, on the other hand, whacks him a good one.
• The phone conversations between The Governor and the newspaper editor, especially this one near the end:
  The Governor: What's the matter with the marriage? She's married to Norval Jones, she always has been! The guy married them, didn't he? The boy signed his right name, didn't he?
  Newspaper Editor: But he gave his name as Ratzkywatzky!
  The Governor: He was trying to say Jones, he stuttered!
  The Boss: (on the other line listening in) What are you looking for, a needle from a haystack?
• Anytime Norval gets excited.
