• Our story begins with Luffy trying to sneak aboard the Red Force... and being completely unable to hold in his giggles at the idea of finally becoming a pirate, allowing Shanks to find his hiding spot.
  Shanks: Eeeny… Meeny… Miney… mo. I smell an anchor on board~
  Luffy: (Stops giggling) ...No, you don’t...
  Shanks: (pulls the lid off of the barrel Luffy was hiding in) C’mon Luffy. Did you really think you could fool my nose?
  Luffy: How do you keep finding me!
  • And how did Shanks sent Luffy off the boat? By calling him by Uta's favorite nickname for him: "Shrimpy".
• In Chapter 21, the atmosphere is serious when Smoker and Tashigi learn Luffy killed a marine. And then they learn the marine in question is Nezumi and the tension is immediately broken as Smoker plans to share drinks with him while Tashigi tries to berate him for it.
