Being a comedy skit series, Buttered Side Down is a source of good comedic timing and slapstick humor.
Making A Paper Airplane
- The Main character's slow descent into insanity throughout the video.
- As well as his bouts of frantic spazzing near the end.
- The sheer amount of unnecessary equipment the Main Character uses to make the airplanes, including a hammer, a pizza cutter and a bottle of WD-40.
- At the end of the video, he finally comes into possession of a well-made paper airplane. He goes to fly it...and then trips and falls, crushing it.
Building a Birdhouse
- The Main Character's various mess ups when building the birdhouse. He first nails a part of the wall into his table, resulting in him making hole in the wall piece and his desk, followed by him hammering a nail straight into his hand.
- The Main Character's excessive attempts to secure the birdhouse by wrapping the entire thing in masking tape and filling it to the brim with crack sealant.
- During the construction of the birdhouse, some sealant accidentally flies into his tea. He takes a sip...and then sprays more in.
- He tires to fend off a horde of angry wasps near the end of the video with a can of WD-40.
- The way he runs is very amusing.
Learning to Swim
- The Main Character tries to inflate his pool by simply breathing into it. It works.
Playing Tic Tac Toe
- The main character being hunted down in his own home after cheating in Tic-Tac-Toe? Terrifying. The fact that he's both the victim and the murderer? Disturbing but funny. The fact that he manages to kill the murderer/himself without dying and disposes of the body by tossing it in the trash rolled up in a rug? Absolutely hilarious.
