Abu's first wish from the genie for sausages seems like a Mundane Wish. But it's implied Abu may not eat regularly; most of what he steals is food (pancakes, fruit, fish and so on). Plus for a pauper like him, sausages are a luxury in that setting that would be expensive and too tricky to steal outright. That's why Abu wished for those sausages!
