Fridge Brilliance

  • Fet returns to the office to discover his co-workers have been turned into vampires. He promptly dispatches them both. One of them was the receptionist who Fet has just learned has a baby. Given that the vampires first try to turn their loved ones and the receptionist was still at work when Fet found her, he just may have saved the child's life.
  • The Strigoi tendency to infect relatives and close friends makes more sense if you're familiar with the wurdalak, a vampire from Russian folklore that is driven to convert its loved ones.
  • Apparently, the family of one of the plane's passengers was attacked and turned by that passenger during his or her memorial service. (This is the family whose house Setrakian blows up by opening the gas main.) But isn't the possibility of the deceased reviving the reason why memorial services are sometimes called "wakes"?
  • Of the plane passengers turned by the Master, only Emma and Bolivar retain their sentience. Why?
    • Emma is a child with at least one surviving parent. If she were to start acting feral when she encountered her father, he would have noticed something was up earlier.
    • And Bolivar is a celebrity with the public constantly keeping an eye on him. People would likely have noticed the situation sooner if his behavior had changed significantly after the incident on the plane.
