- What kind of a name is 'habble' for living spaces? But this is a far-future Earth setting, and the Spires were made by post-21st century humans, who'd presumably use our naming conventions. Add the mentioned thousands of years since the spires were made, and presumably resulting corruption makes the etymology obvious. 'Habble' is a corruption of 'Habitat Level'. Or possibly 'Habitat Bubble.'
