The bird and the duck argue because the bird thinks the duck can't be a "real bird" if she can't fly, while the duck thinks the bird can't be a "real bird" if he can't swim. But since when can a duck not fly? Were her wings clipped because she's a domestic duck? Or did Prokofiev just forget that ducks aren't like chicken?
