Fridge / HuniePop 2

Go To

  • Much like in the first game, the girls' preferred and least favorite traits reflect their lifestyles and backstories:
    • Jessie's favorite trait is now Romance, while Talent is her least favorite. Romance may be a bit ironic since it was her least favorite trait in Huniepop until you realize that according to the complementary information, the porn industry no longer finds Jessie desirable enough for a gig, and thus she feels used, lonely and unwanted. That, summed up by Tiffany disowning her, makes her yearn for a romantic partner that keeps her company and accepts her warts and all. Conversely, Talent is now her least favorite; it probably reminds her of the younger actresses that pushed her aside, along with how she doesn't have any other career to fall back on after almost spending her whole life in the porn industry.
    • Lola now favors Talent, which was her least preferred trait in the first game. Now that she's a business owner, she probably realized that she needs to be talented in addition to hard-working in order to keep her business afloat. Flirtation being her least favorite may have to do with not wanting the player (who she has already dated before), and by extension any future boyfriends/girlfriends, to help her and in Lola's eyes, undermine her own efforts to be independent.
      • It could also mean that despite her prioritizing her business, she still wants a relationship (be it sex/romance or both). That's probably why she still has a positive relationship with the player, Romance may not be her first priority anymore but she still enjoys spending time with them.
      • Also in contrast to the last game, she will not take it well if you tell her what she actually wants to hear (Flirtation). She only takes inspirational or ambitious answers (Talent).
    • Lillian's favorite trait is Sexuality; fitting since she's an oversexed, hedonistic, and rebellious teenager, eager to make her parents mad by any means necessary. Her indifference towards Flirtation may stem from her constantly annoyed personality or not wanting to be too bothered by some random Chick Magnet (other than the player).
    • Zoey favors Talent due to her spiritual affinity and doesn't really care for Sexuality despite agreeing to participate in threesomes. She sees sex as a means to an end; to help The Chosen One and the "butterfly people" save the world, no matter how much she enjoys it. Accordingly, she'd rather see the player get more Talented at the task at hand, and isn't impressed if they get too distracted by sex and risk the world's destruction.
    • Sarah loves Flirtation; fitting for an overt Attention Whore who wants to be flattered and focused on. But her least favorite affection type is Sexuality. Since Sarah is a weeb who enjoys Hentai, and weebs are stereotypically virgins who lust after anime girls/boys, it makes sense that she isn't really that interested in sex (with real people at least), and that she's not experienced (with real people) either.
    • Lailani's favorite affection type is Romance, while she doesn't really like Sexuality. Lailani is sheepish, self-conscious and in comparison to the other girls, prudish; she prefers (relatively) chaste relationships to sex because eroticism in general makes her nervous.
    • Candace favors Flirtation and doesn't care a lot for Romance. She's a stripper and loves the attention she gets from her clients, thus, she doesn't want anything serious. That, and romantic overtures are likely to fly over her head entirely and leave her confused.
    • Nora's favorite trait is Romance and her least favorite is Flirtation. She's an ex-felon with abandonment issues, and so it comes as no surprise that she yearns for something serious that results in genuine love (Romance) but paradoxically doesn't want to drag a potential partner into her emotional baggage or believe that it will actually happen (Flirtation).
    • Brooke likes Talent and dislikes Romance. She links Talent to money, the ability to make money, and by extension the capacity to spoil her with pricey gifts and maintain her expensive tastes. She hates Romance because she doesn't want it; Romance reminds her of her husband whom she finds boring and only good for his money and parenting skills.
    • Ashley is really into Sexuality and not so much into Romance. Ashley tells the player that she almost got married in the past but got cold feet just before she went to the altar, so these commitment issues soured her views towards Romance. Sexuality, on the other hand, appeals to her more because it's a no-strings-attached kind of deal, like her friendship-with-benefits with the player character, and it keeps her interested in the relationship with no stress for her.
    • Abia's favorite trait is Sexuality and her least favorite is Talent. Since she's a repressed sex addict coming from a very conservative culture, naturally she's going to indulge in her desires while living in Inna de Poona. Abia's dislike of Talent may stem from said conservative culture; she mentions having to cook for her brothers and her parents being... not very accepting or tolerant; she may link Talent to the ability or capacity of being reserved and conforming just like her abusive family demanded of her, and/or what society deems as acceptable for her to do with her life.
    • Polly's most favorite affection type is Flirtation, with her least favorite being Talent. Polly is a very proud woman; she loves her own vanity (since she's worked hard to be successful and beautiful by her own standards), her looks, she enjoys being flattered, and her general demeanor is of a classy and girly woman, so Flirtation is her cup of tea. On the other hand, she may not be very receptive of Talent due to her competitors; her fellow TeleYoubers are (according to Polly at least) involved in drama and are manipulative to some degree; negative traits that require Talent.
    • The tutorial date now shows that Kyu's preferred affection type is Sexuality in contrast to Flirtation in the first Huniepop. This is due to the fact that she was forced by her bosses to abstain from having sex, and the knowledge that thanks to her, you already got laid many times so she's no longer testing you on your Flirtation techniques. That being said, she still doesn't care much for Talent; it may remind her that you were her client once and you may still not have much Talent besides bedding girls.
  • There's also the comparisons between girls with opposite trait preferences.
    • Lillian is a sarcastic and broody nihilist, but still capable of liking other people if they suit her. Sarah is pure positive vibes, but those traits make her obnoxious to the people she meets.
    • Jessie is a MILF trying to escape a low point in her life. Brooke is a MILF trying to avoid any low points in her life.
    • Abia goes out with the player because she struggles to avoid thinking about sex. Zoey goes out with the player out of an obligation to aid them in their mission, with it incidentally being mostly about sex. Abia also grew up not being able to express herself, not even in the way she dresses, while Zoey dresses how she feels like, no matter if her outfits and makeup can be considered outlandish.
      • Also, Kyu is leading the player on their mission, while Zoey is following the player on their mission.
    • Candace is too dumb to understand the long-term implications of her line of work. Nora is too jaded to move past the impact of her early life.
    • Lailani is terrified of sexual relationships. Ashley is terrified of romantic relationships.
    • Lola's business is centered around supporting herself. Polly's TeleYoube channel is centered around getting ahead of others.
  • The addition of stamina to the game's mechanics reflects the extra effort in trying to please two women at once without accidentally neglecting one.
  • It's quite weird that Nora's "Emotionally Guarded" baggage increases the number of heartbroken tokens in the grid, why not just make her immune to them, as her baggage's name implies? Simple: because of her invulnerable front, she makes things awkward not just for you but for the other date as well; thanks to Nora's reluctance to open up, the other girl might think you're secretly a jerk and she will be more prone to look up for any possible mistake you make.
  • Why is Kyu unfuckable other than the 'no banging your clients rule'? It's because she's invisible and this is a game, where instead of one girl, you seduce two. Aside from Zoey (and it's more of a sixth sense), nobody can see her. So it would be pointless unless she somehow could become corporeal (whether or not she's visible to anyone besides virgins and her clients is never explained).
  • Sarah technically isn't wrong about Lailani being Asian (she's a Pacific Islander which counts as Asian). It's the type of Asian (Japanese) she's wrong about.
  • Girls with same least desirable trait all make some sort of sense:
    • Lailani and Sarah might seem different (and they are), but they're both very socially awkward and not in touch with their sexuality at all. Lailani because she's somewhat uptight and too shy and Sarah because of how loud she is and she just prefers to watch animated porn.
    • Ashley and Brooke don't like Romance because they know marriage ain't as exciting as just casual relationships. They also view their relationship with the player in a sort of transactional way: Ashley gets sex and Brooke gets to be luxuriously treated.
    • Jessie and Polly don't like to be reminded there's more Talented, prettier and youthful people out there. They're also still single, despite their desire to settle.
    • Nora and Lillian are too jaded and have no patience for your empty talk.
      • Similarly Lola and Nora are both independent woman who want to have partners who let them do things themselves. They also have problems with it. With Lola being such a Workaholic, she has no time to relax or socialize (outside of negotiating)(Talent) and Nora closing herself in fear of getting hurt again (Romance). While they are board with it, due to the stated factors, it makes sense they'd be a little hesitant to actually go on a date (Flirtation).
  • Tiffany not being in the game makes a lot of sense on a practical level; imagine how awkward an incestuous threesome would be for everybody if her own mother was involved!
    • The same can be said about Kyanna and Nora. Not to mention, Nora herself says that Kyanna is tight on money (no going to an expensive island resort), and with her son Phillip to care for, she'll have no opportunity to meet new people, much less having threesomes.
    • In that same note, Aiko isn't in the game neither because, if "Studio" is to be believed, she was fired from her teacher job and her slot machine addiction means she doesn't have the willpower to save for the trip to Inna de Poona.
  • Despite having lost her job basically, Jessie is in Inna de Poona thanks to Lola covering her expenses; it helps that, thanks to her stewardess job, Lola already got her flying tickets covered up, and Jessie can share a room with her to save on the hotel stay.
  • The nymphojinn having three screenshot pictures means they and the player got down more than once. It seems that the whole thing about they being super horny wasn't just talk.
  • Of course the girl that introduces Jessie in this game would be Lailani, a Suspiciously Similar Substitute to Beli, one of the girls that introduced Jessie in the first game (the other being the already present Lola).
  • While Kyu fawning over Candance is in character for her, it could also be a reference to how she and Candance initially looked so similar, people thought the two were related in some way.
