• The ending seems pretty happy with Chicane and Himeko being reunited...Until you realize, that for this to happen, they both had to be reincarnated and grow up again. And who knows if Himeko kept to her promise of waiting for the "girl in her dream" and stayed single for the rest of her life? After you get past that, it seems OK until you make the even worse realization that because they are reincarnated, they have to repeat everything over again, which includes one of them having to kill the other. And this will go on forever.
  • Of course that depends entirely on when the epilogue takes place. if it does take place in the next cycle, then yeah the horror is there, but if it takes place in the same lifetime that the series focused on then the above horror almost certainly doesn't apply.
  • The finale suggested that the Orochi was destroyed permanently and that Himeko and Chikane could finally be together forever no matter how many times they reincarnate.
