• How did Kouri get Deacon's ring? The Colonel notes at one point that they're low on uniforms, so accouterments like jewelry are probably used to help designate officers. The ring being particularly distinctive, it would be useful for this purpose.
• Freakers tend to all look alike (brawny hairless Caucasian males), but who's to say they all started out that way? We know that the virus causes mutations in their internal systems, so perhaps the single color among them could be due to the virus lowering their melanin levels as they evolve—note that Bleachers are a later stage. And as for being all male? The virus packs on muscles and women who build their muscles heavily tend to lose their feminine appearance to a degree, among a few other things, due to hormonal changes. Not only that, but the virus probably requires a lot of calories to make its alterations, so Freaks probably have little body fat to spare for things like breasts. Why do they all look similar? They probably all have acromegaly, a condition in which the body starts producing growth hormones and develops things like brow ridges and mandibular overgrowth. If that's the case, why do some Freakers resemble more typical women? Because some people have a different body composition and as a virus it can affect people differently.
