Fridge Brilliance
- The afforementioned name of the city, Imboca. When roughly translated, means "In Mouth", the same as Innsmouth. For some it doesn't dawn on them till they learn what it means in Spanish.
- Double because it is a phonetic twin of "invoca", which is "it invokes" in Spanish.
- After Paul falls through the window, he walks with a limp, just like the townspeople of Imboca, which makes sense considering his lineage.
Fridge Horror
- What happened to Ezquiel's mother is that she almost certainly was given to Dagon for rape and murder.
- Given the number of fish people in the city, the number of women given over to Dagon must be truly tremendous.
