- Cold-Blooded Torture: Alvin inflicts this on Hiccup.
- Heel Realization: Astrid and eventually the other teens get this upon realizing that Hiccup doesn't know that they care about him.
- Idiot Ball: Sure, Hiccup. Go into the tent of the chief you're not sure you can trust alone. That couldn't possibly go wrong.
- Nothing Is Scarier: We don't know exactly what happened to Hiccup before he got shoved into that coffin. It's terrifying anyway.
