- Fish out of Water: the major premise of this story. The people of the world of quirks have been dragged to the Monster Hunter world by an unseen force. They are stuck in a state of Brought Down to Normal, and are left to the mercy of the monsters. Except for those without Quirks.
- Took a Level in Badass: Izuku sees what the Hunters can do for themselves and uses that as a way to improve himself. While most of the others were dealing with various levels of Despair Event Horizons. Growing to be able to take down Elder Dragons alone.
