Hawaii Animation Studios was an American animation studio based in Honolulu, Hawaii founded by Toronto-based company Entrenched Inc. in 2010. They provided animation and visual effects for either local or major industries. The company ceased operations sometime in 2012, although their website stayed up until early 2016.

Shows worked on by Hawaii:

  • Fish N Chips (with Timoon Animation)
  • Reign of the Dinosaurs
  • VeggieTales (2 videos)List

Tropes associated with Hawaii:

  • Limited Animation: Their work on VeggieTales was more inferior unlike the episodes animated by Big Idea, DKP Studios (ironically enough, its founder Dan Krech also worked at Hawaii) and Huhu Studios before previously.
  • Special Effect Failure: "Sweetpea Beauty" has probably the worst animation of any VeggieTales video (with only the first two episodes even rivaling it). The lighting is very basic, props randomly move from one position to another, one character's mouth randomly grows and drops in framerate, and entire backgrounds and textures disappear for no apparent reason. Jimmy and Jerry are also discolored during the "Pants" song. As such, the company only animated this video and "It's a Meaningful Life" before they were eventually fired and replaced by New Zealand-based Huhu for the rest of the series run (previously they only animated "Abe and His Amazing Promise" and "Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella" before Hawaii took over).
