David Ida Pond is an heiress to the Pond Dynasty, and the only female Pond writer yet. Inspired in third grade, she became a haiku writer and continues to write haikus now, along with other poems. Pond is very much a transcendentalist, much like the rest of her dynasty.

Pond was born interprovincially in 2008 to poet and songwriter Patrick Pond, known for performing on paddlewheelers on the St. John river, and a private Fredericton piano teacher. Expecting a boy, they prepared to name her David. David led a very flippy life as a troublemaker with deeply transcendentalist views of freedom, or the “spirit of ‘76”. She endured many detentions for writing haikus on desks. Pond once said she lived by two rules: “1. No rules. 2. Flip your hair.”

One of her most famous poems is ''DILWID' (2022).

Pond first published her haikus at 13 while in love.

Pond has released one poetry book so far, Life And Loons At Lake George (2022).
