Charlbi Dean Kriek (5 February 1990 – 29 August 2022) was a South African actress and model. Her credits included roles in the Spud films (2010–2013), the superhero drama series Black Lightning (2018) and the Palme d'Or-winning dark comedy Triangle of Sadness.
Her spleen was removed after a car crash in October 2008 and in August 2022 before the internation release of Triangle of Sadness, she contracted bacterial sepsis due to developing Capnocytophaga as a result of her compromised immune system. Dean died in the hospital at the age of 32 when her condition quickly deteriorated.
