The Survivors AKA The Central Committee
General information
A group of twenty-six distinctly non-human entities, stranded in a Standard Fantasy Setting by a Blind Jump. They are advanced machine lifeforms with limited resources and as such need to enlist human aide to survive and move their plans forward.- Electronic Telepathy: Every Survivor has a multi-terabaud wireless communication system. Its primary use is to communicate amongst themselves, but one of the first inventions they worked to develop was radios.
- Good with Numbers: How good? Throw some change on a table and the average adult human can subconsciously count up to five without starting at one. Ask a Survivor what "58,321 x 25,831" is, and they will just as quickly answer "1,506,489,751."
- Mechanical Lifeforms: The humanoid forms their subjects have become familiar with are merely shells. Their true form is that of twenty-kilogram cubes with more processing power than a 21st-century nation.
- The Needless: They neither eat nor drink. All they require is electricity — and each one carries a 84MJ power cell.
- Overly Long Name: Survivor names, when translated, are a sentence describing some abstract concept or a specific event followed by a number. Given their electronic communication and high bandwidth this is a lot less awkward for them, but in general they use a shorthand when dealing with organics.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: A key element of Survivor psychology is that every single one is smart enough to know they're not infallible. They thus find seeking authority over others for its own sake generally counterproductive. This is not to say they are obligate anarchists; they are fully capable of operating hierarchically when it suits them as well delegating tasks, but they do so because the situation warrants it and are quite satisfied when a more ad hoc system is sufficient and people take care of problems on their own — thus sparing their attention for other tasks.
- The Stoic: A racial trait. When organics are stressed, they have adrenaline surges. When Survivors are stressed, they overclock — meaning they concentrate. More often than not, they consult every other Survivor in computer-time before making a decision in such situations.

As his name implies, he prefers to be the first to explore unknown situations. The son of a blacksmith in Dalatyr, he was one of the committee's original soldiers who eventually rose to the rank of general. High Elves
The original Elven civilization with a history which goes back some 20,000 years.
Dark Elves
Outcasts from the High Elvish land of Illvanas that developed the ability to thrive in low background magic environments, the Dark Elves eventually consolidated themselves into a series of small states. These eventually were unified by the First Dark Emperor who formed them into a militaristic culture. This collapsed after her death and resulted in a number of small realms.
