• Capt. Holderman's Big Damn Heroes moment. The Americans' flank is about to be overrun, even after men have been sent from other sections to reinforce it, an entire company comes up on the Germans's flank, and within minutes, the Germans are routed.
• When the Americans have no water, they need to get it from a stream. Unfortunately, the stream is covered by a German sniper. One of the men, Pvt. Yoder, manages to figure out where the sniper is hiding judging by the layout of the area, and when another man runs decoy to lure the sniper out, Yoder kills the German before he kills the decoy.
