The music score for this episode is one of the most memorable aspects. In particular, the tracks that play during Picard's conversations with Nuria. It is very airy, atmospheric, and dreamlike, resembling a pan flute via synthesizer. It perfectly fits the very deep existentialism of what Picard must relay to Nuria. Very reminiscent of Tangerine Dream or Kitaro and a rare venture of Star Trek into such unconventional genres of music; the irony being that one would expect this sort of music in droves from a science fiction series. Ron Jones, a prolific composer for the series is credited with this episode.
