- Alicorn Sunny vs. Opaline. Despite lacking any real combat experience, Sunny manages to hold her own against the wicked Fire Alicorn. And with her friends' cutie mark magic providing her a boost, she manages to contain the villain long enough for her and her friends to depart.
Cutie Blossom Bash
- The Mane Five and Misty's cutie mark magic combine, causing the young tree planted to celebrate Misty's cutie mark to grow into a full-sized tree.
- Misty chooses to return to Opaline so she can act as a Double Agent for her friends. She is willing to endure more of Opaline's abuse so that she can help to defeat the villain once and for all.

- The Breezies make a gleaming return, and bring them with them their Night Market, a huge marketplace located in the unicorns' Wishing Tree.

- Pipp shows some impressive forethought by leaving a trail of flower petals during the trip through the Dragonlands, so the group can find their way back to the portal.

- The "Frighthouse" is quite a sight, the Mane Five having gone all out to decorate the Brighthouse for Nightmare Night.
Roots of All Evil Pt. 1
- Hitch is pretty impressive, attempting to fend off both Opaline and her mind-controlled dragons. While he does eventually lose his mark to her magic. He put up a good fight, even with the odds stacked against him. What with trying to protect himself, the pony citizens and facing the Alicon alone with the disadvantage of his Plant Magic against Opaline and the dragon's fire.
Roots of All Evil Pt. 2
- Misty managing to distract and misdirect Opaline, stealing the medallion with the stolen Cutie Mark magic. When that ultimately fails, Misty outright confronts the alicorn directly. Revealing her new allegiance and friendship with Sunny and her friends.
- Sparky really gets to shine in this episode. First he uses his inner dragon magic to snap Spike out of Opaline’s mind control trance, then he uses the Dragonstone to drain Opaline of her stolen magic and purifies her corrupted Together Tree, causing everyone’s Cutie Marks to return to their rightful owners, while also transforming the Tree into her new prison while the other dragons and Sunny escape. Spike wasn't kidding. Sparky really is something special.
- Everypony in Equestria plays a part in Opaline's defeat, singing together in front of their Together Trees. The unity magic created by this not only starts to break Opaline's hold over her own Together Tree, but activates the magic in Sunny's locket, which releases a magical rainbow that incapacitates Opaline.
Secrets of Starlight
- The Aurora Flares are visually spectacular.
- With encouragement from their new friends, the Auroricorns stand up to Allura, and successfully drive her away from Starlight Ridge.
