Awesome / Harry Potter and the Mother Who Lived

Go To

  • Despite the silliness of Hedwig "insisting" on Lily reading her message, there's something awesome as after Lily reads the message, Hedwig's eyes give her the message "Help Him!"
  • Lily begins her new struggle with demons, in a duel with Quirrell.
  • Despite being powerless, when Tom Riddle insults Lily in the Chamber of Secrets, Harry goes straight to trying to punch him.
  • Arthur Weasley goes at Lucius for giving Ginny the diary. Thanks to the changes in circumstances, Lucius actually gets direct karma for endangering so many students and almost killing Arthur's little girl.
    • On that note, to keep his reputation intact, Lucius is essentially blackmailed into freeing Dobby.
  • Sirius gets to catch Peter Pettigrew in Egypt, leading an Auror raid to catch him.
  • Cedric's heroic speech about taking the high road against Slytherin after their aggressive tactics put one of their players in the hospital wing.
  • In this reality, because Barty Crouch Jr didn't cast the Dark Mark over the stadium, the Aurors actually managed to catch one of the Death Eaters at the Quidditch World Cup. Not a fantastic catch, but still a success to take one of them off the board before the war begins in earnest.
  • In their first Quidditch scrimmage during the cancelled season, Harry manages to get the snitch while playing against both Cedric AND Cho. A true show of his prowess.
    • Another show of Harry's prowess in Quidditch comes during the Quidditch Exhibition Match between Hogwarts and the combined Beauxbatons/Durmstrang team between them with Krum as their seeker. Not only does Harry make a good performance against Krum (going so far as to not fall for one of Krum's Wronski Feints), but many professional Quidditch teams, who sent scouts to the game, are taking note of Harry.
  • After fully realizing the danger and the glory both Harry and Cedric are going through, Hannah makes a symbolic break from her earlier attitude by leading Hufflepuff in burning Draco's "Potter Stinks" badges.
  • Susan calling Fleur out for her disrespectful attitude and in French during the Yule Ball, to show she can't hide behind her language.
  • Susan going in hard on Cedric's dad about being too trusting of Rita Skeeter's smear tactics about Harry.
  • Seeing Barty Crouch argue with Cornelius Fudge really demonstrates how bad luck and PR problems made a natural leader unable to take full power. But that regardless, Mr. Crouch was truly acting like a savvy politician in reading Fudge like a book and saying that he knows he'll never make Minister once they find out about his son's role in reviving Voldemort, but he'll do everything in his power to begin the fight NOW.
  • While Amelia can't officially do anything to assist Lily in Fudge's campaign against the truth, she does do several small things to ensure they find the truth and bring it irrefutably to Fudge's desk in due time. She even appoints Miranda to start subtly spreading the word to aurors she trusts.
  • In anger over the taunts and insensitivity, Susan lays into Draco about his family's failures, and how if he's not careful, Voldemort will kill them all.
    • Then when things get dicey, both Susan and Harry's friend groups step out to stun the 3.
  • Barty Crouch, on his exit speech, pulls a Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!. Announcing to the Ministry that not only is his son alive, but Voldemort is back. And since he's no longer a Ministry official, he can do this without fear of direct reprisal.
  • In Rosa I, we find out Barty did something extra during his departure: steal ministry secrets about what Voldemort was up to. And then hand it out to the unrecognized ministry of Quebec as part of the effort to drum up international support for putting pressure on acknowledging Voldemort's return.
