An analysis of Mr. Cat's nightmare

At first glance, the dream seems to be about random things as an example of Real Dreams are Weirder, but upon further analysis, certain elements of the dream actually do make sense.

The first scene has Mr. Cat in a family dining room eating dinner. While the seat across from him is empty, the fork and knife are still moving, as if to symbolize someone's absence. This "someone" is most likely Lola Felicia, who is absent from Mr. Cat's life for some reason and is greatly missed by him. Bad Kaeloo, who is cooking food in the kitchen, turns to Mr. Cat and says that she's his mother. Mr. Cat mentioned having an Oedipus complex in Episode 86, which is probably the reason why he dreams of his crush as being his mother.

The second scene portrays two Kaeloos as a pair of Creepy Twins. Dreams involving twins often symbolize that there is a person in your life to whom you are very attached, which is exactly what Kaeloo is to Mr. Cat. The part where the rest of the main four tell Mr. Cat to "play with [them] forever" is not just a reference to The Shining - it's reminiscent of how they often drag him into games which he has no desire to be a part of.

The final scene is of Mr. Cat being unable to speak in front of a crowd and being humiliated as a result. The dream ends with him falling into a void. Both of these dreams signify feelings of shame and inadequacy, and the show has often hinted at Mr. Cat having an Inferiority Superiority Complex.
