AoTS Chapter 11: ISIS- Not Just An Egyptian Goddess

Written By: Thomas
POV: Will

As you can see above, the author changed William's name to Will to makes things a bit less confusing.

Anyway, Will and Ebony board a plane, a week after Carter left for Syria, and Will is eager to deal with DAESH (I wonder if the use of this derogatory term for ISIS is because Isis is also an Egyptian goddess- it would have made the perfect coincidence), and put a stop to their crucifying people, since they're co-opting the symbol of the Christian god, as well as the way Jesus Christ died.

I'm well aware of all the other atheists who deride Christians for using a torture symbol as a sacred image, and while I can understand Christians would want to honor Jesus' sacrifice for our sins, it's quite another thing to take it as far as the Prayer Warriors do. Furthermore, I've mainly seen the crucifixion rumors on the more hardcore Christian news sites, which use the events to rally fellow believers against ISIS (and possibly Muslims in general), so I take those reports with a grain of salt.

Ebony reassures Will (whom the narration has resumed referring to by his full name) that things will be alright, since God is on their side, and He will save them if anything bad happens. Given the kind of story this is, Ebony's faith is well founded, although they can still die, and more likely than not, they'll come back in the near future.

Will gets an email from Carter IN ALL CAPITALS, LIKE THIS, saying that people are fleeing Syria, and they must bring it back to being a good country that God and Jesus would approve of. Will, responding THE EXACT SAME WAY, appreciates the report and plans to get in and save some Christians, like Paul did, while writing an epistle like he once did (arguably the written correspondence counts for that).

Carter, IN THE SAME WAY AS BEFORE, says that the situation has become dire, as they're under attack from terrorists, one of whom might be "John Lennon," (apparently not only Back from the Dead but still alive after all these years), although Carter's unsure. Ebony, GETTING ON THE ALL CAPS BANDWAGON, claims that she saw Percy shoot him in the heart, and believes that he should be Killed Off for Real, apparently ignoring that her old foes in Hogwarts have come back to life.

Carter does not reply, which deeply concerns Will and Ebony, as he's a trusted friend and valuable ally, so they ask the pilot to fly the plane faster. He's apparently flying as fast as humanly possible, so they pray and cause the plane to break the sound barrier, so that they can save him.

Next Installment: Draco and Sansa meet with an old ally and get a very unpleasant surprise.
