Back on the Normandy, Fail Shep has some "dinner" with his yeoman, Kelly Chambers. He then returns to Illium to seek out his final recruit, a drell assassin named Thane Krios.
Liara tells Fail Shep that Thane is planning to kill a Corrupt Corporate Executive named Nassana Danatius and tells him to speak to another asari named Seryna for more information. Seryna was Nassana's former chief of security, but she was fired when she questioned her employer's willingness to have her competitors murdered. She gave Thane information on Nassana and is more than willing to help Fail Shep out in hopes that he distracts Nassana's guards from stopping Thane.
Fail Shep arrives at the Dantius Towers where he is greeted by the sight of Nassana's mercs gunning down laborers thanks to one of her fits of paranoia. Not much happens in the Towers aside from the usual killing of mercs.
Fail Shep arrives at Nassana's penthouse before Thane. He attempts to shake her down for some cash, but Thane arrive through the vents and kills her. Thane agrees to join the mission free of charge. It turns out that he is terminally ill and figures that sacrificing himself to stop the Collectors will be a good end to his life.
