Episode 2: Little Rascals

We return after a long break in Liveblogging to recount the tale of our second session... (I really should be doing these sooner after the sessions so I can properly remember the interesting details...)

Unfortunately, not as many funny shenanigans occur during this bit, but we do find out a few new things.

So... Where did we last leave our heroes? After their first encounter of course! Relatively unharmed, they return to their crossing of Route 29, which is surprisingly uneventful from that point on. The wild Ekans they had met did say he would tell the other wilds to lay off the group, so maybe that is why they had such a safe passage? Who knows.

Upon arriving in Cherrygrove, Alfred Notnorman (NPC EXTRAORDINAIRE!) runs off offering a quick "Thank you!" before disappearing into a home by the entrance of the city. While the group was suffering from varying levels of disappointment, Anza wasn't taking that crap; he was promised a reward!*

However, they couldn't remember exactly which house he was in and Dan didn't like the idea of going door-to-door looking for the crazy man.

After some discussion, our valiant heroes entered the nearby Pokemart, hoping to pick up some meds. In addition, Dan felt like grabbing some ingredients for making some Soul Food for new team addition, Vivaldeer the Deerling. In my first decent attempt at storytelling as a GM, I managed to concoct some items located throughout the store: shelves stocked with purple-cased Potions, the multi-coloured translucent bottles of status healing items, as well as some more day-to-day items. This category included things like C Ds, movies, and food. There was a specific piece of food pointed out, but repeating it will make me look like an asshole GM, so we will just leave it at that. Also, Boolie rolled around the aisles, much to the clerk's (Martin Stone) annoyance.

Oddly enough, leaving the store, our heroes spot Alfred having a discussion with a... Vigoroth?! WHAT IN THE BLAZ— Oh wait; he's actually just a guy dressed up as a Vigoroth. Andrew apologizes to the trainers on behalf of his father. Unfortunately, as Andrew just learned, his father's bank card, and all of his money by extention, were stolen by a group of kids known as the Sentret Squad. They are a group of little rascals who have begun to torment the citizens of Cherrygrove through acts of shoplifting, vandalism, and more general theft. Determined to obtain his *

reward, Anza decides that the group will find and stop these meddling kids so that they can get money. At least, once they take a nice long rest at the Pokemon Center.

The next morning, rested and prepared for the day, the boys leave the Center to bump into... A bunch of young kids walking around with these small brown Pokemon who hopped around on their tails. After a short amount of discussion, our heroes know that these are the snot-nosed punks screwing around with them and preventing them from having a stimulated economy of their own.

PREPARE FOR BATTLE!!

Using the Pokedexes at their disposal, the team quickly identifies the Pokemon following the youngsters around and confirm their suspicions: Sentrets. Four Sentrets vs. Ampere the Minun, Boolie the Spheal, and Nyeri the Mienfoo. Let's get shit done. Unfortunately for Ampere, it is pretty much unable to truly be effective; Seth doesn't want to zap the hell out of his opponents with Discharge. This leaves Ampere offensiveless... But nonetheless, the team fights.

Some stuff happens, Youngster 1 is identified as a total psycho, Youngster 3 picks up his Sentret and tries to run away, and Anza shows off his "Don't Fuck With Me" side. Basically, by borrowing Nyeri's Pound attack, Anza threatens to beat the face of one of the Youngsters in. Not liking this proposal the battle is at a standstill. That is until...

...The boys get a call from Professor Elm. Halfway through the call, the line gets dropped. Oh, Crap!. Not only that, but while they were distracted, the Sentret Squad took off. Even still...

Victory! The trio don't waste time with victory poses though and make haste to get back to New Bark; hoping to stop whatever nefarious plot was afoot!

Will they succeed? Will they add more party members soon? Where the hell is Honip in all of this? Will Anza ever get the money he was totally*

promised?

Find out next time I have enough spare time to update this liveblog!

I stand by my opinion: the DVD reboot of "Attack of the giant Raticate" franchise was a complete rip-off. Stay true to the original movies, kids.

Well, what about some of the other, more mainstream Kaiju characters? Namely Charzilla, Gameroise, Mothcarona, and King Infernape?
