I definitely feel like I'm making some progress with the ice open again. Didn't go yesterday because I felt a little worn down, but just fine today.
I was doing mohawks and one-foot turns all over the ice, including chaining the one-foot turns together into twizzles. Lots of backwards skating, as usual. Getting a little closer with the spread-eagles but not close enough for my liking. Gave the spin a little more of a kick, but coming out of it sooner than I'd like because I don't feel entirely balanced. Will have to find some way to rectify that! And more practice with the sort-of jump, I get the idea a little better now. But still really a hop. Will have to practice leaping on dry land to strengthen those muscles? Maybe. The landings weren't exactly perfectly smooth, but mostly not horrible either.
- For myself, it seems cycling has boosted my jumping height.
- Not quite to John Carter levels, unfortunately.
Don't really know about balance, though. Any Shaolin monasteries near you?
