* FollowTheLeader: Aero was one of many "animal with [[MascotWithAttitude attitude]]" mascots introduced in the 90's that tried to cash in on the success of the ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' games on the UsefulNotes/SegaGenesis.
* InMemoriam: The second game. released in 1994, had in its credits a tribute to Brazilian racer Ayrton Senna, who died in May of that year.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** According to this [[https://www.unseen64.net/2010/10/11/aero-the-acro-bat-snes-genesis-mega-drive-beta-concept/ article]], the first game was somewhat different, though some of these elements were later utilized for the GBA remake.
** The game was intended for the NES, but due to the rise of [=16bit=] consoles the game was released on SNES and Sega Genesis. Also, an Atari Jaguar port was planned but scrapped.
** According to David Siller in this [[https://www.unseen64.net/2018/08/02/aero-the-acrobat-3-a3ro-cancelled/ artical]], there were plans for a third installment for Playstation as a 3D platformer titled "[=A3RO=]" or "[[ThirdIs3D Aero 3D]]" under Universal Interactive Studios, who bought the rights to the franchise. The idea was scrapped due to [[HostilityOnTheSet heated conflicts]] with Siller and [[Creator/NaughtyDog Jason Rubin & Andy Gavin]] who was developing ''[[VideoGame/CrashBandicoot1996 Crash Bandicoot]]'' at the same time ([[ScrewedByTheNetwork who saw this as a betrayal, seeing that Siller was also a producer on that game as well]]).
** Creator/SabanEntertainment announced that an animated TV series based on the video game would be out by 1995, but that upcoming show was canceled in favor of more seasons of ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers''.
