- Follow the Leader: Aero was one of many "animal with attitude" mascots introduced in the 90's that tried to cash in on the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog games on the Sega Genesis.
- In Memoriam: The second game. released in 1994, had in its credits a tribute to Brazilian racer Ayrton Senna, who died in May of that year.
- What Could Have Been:
- According to this article, the first game was somewhat different, though some of these elements were later utilized for the GBA remake.
- The game was intended for the NES, but due to the rise of 16bit consoles the game was released on SNES and Sega Genesis. Also, an Atari Jaguar port was planned but scrapped.
- According to David Siller in this artical, there were plans for a third installment for Playstation as a 3D platformer titled "A3RO" or "Aero 3D" under Universal Interactive Studios, who bought the rights to the franchise. The idea was scrapped due to heated conflicts with Siller and Jason Rubin & Andy Gavin who was developing Crash Bandicoot at the same time (who saw this as a betrayal, seeing that Siller was also a producer on that game as well).
- Saban Entertainment announced that an animated TV series based on the video game would be out by 1995, but that upcoming show was canceled in favor of more seasons of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.
