The smartest university student to ever graduate from Daxia University's Department of Political History, Mu Siyun, enlists in Beiyang's Fleet on a whim and somehow becomes the Fleet Admiral. Knowing fully well how the world works and how the rich dominate the poor, Mu Siyun seeks to defy the heavens and bring order and hope back to the universe by scheming against his enemies.

!!General Tropes
* TheAlliance: An evil version. Several fleets, warlords and dynasties join the Dragon Slayer Alliance against Siyun. [[TheChessmaster Which is most likely what he wanted to draw them into the open]]. The forces and resources they possess indicate that they had been planning to betray Daxia for decades. Siyun antagonizing them was just an excuse to do what they had wanted to do all that time. [[spoiler:After most of the countries in the alliance get tired of the Ditu Emperor's leadership, they attempt to replace him, only for him to enact ThePurge and slaughter every single one of them, allowing him to reforge the alliance into TheEmpire.]]
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: It becomes clear that most of Ditu's soldiers are traitors who defected from Daxia so they wouldn't be bound by things like law, morals or basic human decency. It isn't just their military or government either. Ditu is literally an entire nation of sociopaths, down to the last civilian. While they have their own set of EvilVirtues, their entire culture treats concepts like compassion as weakness. In order for outsiders to become citizens, they must first prove their ruthlessness by massacring their entire family if human, or the rest of their species if not. The Ditu throne is passed by one of the Emperor's children killing him as part of official law. In cases where EvenEvilHasLovedOnes, the Ditu Emperor may proudly offer his favored child his neck voluntarily. Killing your fellow citizens in the streets is only illegal because it harms public health, the punishment is a fine. Civilians cheer on Ditu's wars because they are {{Blood Knight}}s who think that killing people is fun.
* AlwaysSecondBest: More like Fourth Best, but Jukun Fleet decides to secretly ally with Dragon Slayer alliance because they're envious of the Three Fleets of Daxia.
* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: When Siyun goes missing after the assassination attempt from Rain Master, the Dragon Slayer Alliance throws a party during the funerary celebrations.
* AnimalEyes: Ding Yuan has pupils that resemble a cat.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Siyun sent to help Three-Legged Crow at Immortal Cloud Planet, a puppet who is the manifestation of [[spoiler:Beiyangs main planet cannons]]. It looks like a young Siyun with a low coefficient.
* ArmiesAreEvil: The ones belonging to the Dragon Slayer Alliance sure are, being nothing more than thugs, scumbags and war criminals who abuse their power and terrorize common people far more often than fighting the enemy.
* ArtisticLicensePhysics: All over the place. The most horrendous is Dragon Empress dragging the leader of the "Justice Council" out of a space station and to Merak's surface in ''two seconds'' without burning him up in the atmosphere or turning his internal organs to salsa!
* ArtShift: Every time a character gets overly emotional, said character becomes "chibified."
* AttackAnimal: Chapter 142 reveals that Doggie ''knows kungfu''. He's so strong that [[spoiler:he singlehandedly takes out the forces aboard Merak's Crown Prince's ship and apprehends him.]]
* AristocratsAreEvil: While there are a few members of royalty that are good people like Merak's seventh prince or Pleiades first princess, a whole lot more are racist, classist bastards who have no problem killing millions of people so their whims are satisfied.
* AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: The gods who became strongest would usually move on to a higher plane.
* AssholeVictim: Zhang Ergou and his father are both arrogant, corrupt, and stupid men who feel nothing for sending waves of women to their deaths for their pride. People are more disgusted with the way they died than the fact they're dead. They are the first of many vile people who earn Siyun's ire.
* AssimilationBackfire: As the first male angel to appear in thousands of years, Siyun's existence opens up a chance for Dragon Empress to revive herself via GrandTheftMe. However, due to her being weakened by the Heavenly Dao and his own HeroicWillpower, he turns the tables and ends up absorbing her power, her HiveMind, and by extension, her other assimilated bodies instead. Nevertheless, Dragon Empress is NotQuiteDead. As a genuine believer in SocialDarwinism, she isn't particularly angry about her defeat and can occasionally act as a SpiritAdvisor if she needs to.
* TheAtoner: Siyun calls himself a sinner and seeks to make amends to all those who are supposed to be under his care and protection but he fails to save everyone before his plan was in place to take down the corrupt planet lord of Kangjin planet. He prostrates before them in furtherance of his apology.
* AwfulWeddedLife: Himiko's marriage is not a happy one. Her husband is an unfaithful jerk who is never around. Her stepson also doesn't respect her or see her as his mother, though even he feels sympathetic to her about his father's infidelity (since his father also cheated on the guy's birth mother). Which is why he doesn't care when he mistakenly thinks Himiko is also cheating with Siyun -- he outright tells her she shouldn't stay loyal to his asshole father.
* BadBoss: The leaders of Dragon Slayer alliance treat their mooks horribly. Death in battle, or by their hands. And that's on a ''good'' day.
* BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad: As the Dragon Slayer Alliance brags and boasts of their villainy, without exception, they puff themselves up and call themselves "righteous", with the Ditu prince [[BlasphemousBoast decrying that even God himself would call him the height of righteousness]], but anyone who dares resist their mass-murdering, puppy kicking ways is "evil." It doesn't help that the news agencies are all classist tabloids and have a major slander boner against Siyun.
* BeastMan: A ''lot'' of the alien races are equivalent to Earth animals in roughly humanoid shapes, like horse, fly, or rat people.
* {{BFS}}: Siyun creates one several ''miles long'' using the entire iron core of a moon, dropping it on Immortal Cloud Planet.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: It's pretty easy to tell who's going to be sympathetic to Siyun and who's going to be a jerk or oppose him in some way- all the ones trying to kill him or make the world worse are in some way ugly, with exaggerated features, showing signs of age, or oddly shaped mouths.
* BeingGoodSucks: As Siyun is being broken down and rebuilt ''a second time'', he ponders why he should be fighting when good people live short lives full of suffering, while evil people, like [[CardCarryingVillain Dragon Slayer Alliance]] live long and pleasant lives. He regains his resolve when he remembers Ding Yuan's life story, and how she never gives up in any adversity.
* BeleagueredAssistant: Immortal Godmother's second-in-command is exasperated by Immortal Godmother repeatedly prioritizing her feelings for Siyun over her job as a fleet admiral.
* BerserkButton: You can flaunt your wealth all you want in front of Siyun and he won't bother you, but hit women or threaten civilians in his presence and you're in for a world of pain.
* BewareTheNiceOnes:
** Just because Siyun is a nice guy most of the time, it doesn't mean he won't rip your guts out if he decides you don't deserve to live.
** Zhen Yuan might be most of the time very peaceful, but when driven far enough, you will get to know why Shuras can be considered a OneManArmy.
* BigBad: The Ditu Emperor, who has spent a long time plotting to betray everyone to become the first emperor of all humanity.
* BlackAndWhiteMorality: Even with Siyun's PayEvilUntoEvil philosophy, he and most of his allies are good people trying to make their way into the world, while the villains are irredeemable human trash that no one will miss.
* BloodFromTheMouth: PlayedForLaughs. Immortal Godmother's second-in-command coughs so much blood from her superior's antics with Siyun she faints from ''blood loss''.
** Five Fleet admirals cough blood in shock when Xiao Pao reveals on live stream to the entire universe she knows they were planning to betray Daxia and join the Dragon Slayer Alliance.
* BodyguardBabes: Dragon Empress is left as bodyguard for Merak's youngest prince.
* BombThrowingAnarchist: The Justice Council want to destroy all aristocracy, regardless if they're actually bad people or not. They don't even have issues harming children if they're royalty. Hypocritically, they are willing to work with ''other'' aristocrats and royalty to do so.
* BoomerangBigot: Huang Pi, the Yellow-Skinned Wolf from Three-Legged Crow fleet calls Shura livestock, even though she's half-Shura herself.
* BrainUploading: The rulers of Daxia are each the merged personalities of the nation's historical wisemen, copied into computer data.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: In chapter 269, it's revealed that not ''all'' members of Dragon Slayer Alliance are willing. The patriarch of the Qin family ''murdered his sister'' in front of a Monk from the Divine race, so said monk would be heartbroken, and then proceeds to force-feed the Qin family's fantastic drug to him so that he'll become a psychotic killer with no ego or will of his own. Even in the present (Chapter 274), said "fallen monk" is still hooked on the drug, downing multiple vials at a time.
* BrickJoke: Professor Wuneng says he'll lick Ding Yuan's feet if they somehow take over Insect Queen planet. Several chapters later Ding Yuan makes him do just that.
* BulletCatch: Siyun does this to protect Golden Hamster from being shot at. He catches a lot with his teeth.
* BullyingADragon:
** Even when it's clear Siyun doesn't fear retaliation, Zhang keeps insulting him and the soldiers who died, even when Siyun authorized one of the girls to kill his crony. His old man makes the same mistake, thinking he can get away with treating soldiers as cannon fodder. Siyun proceeds to kill father and son in front of the entire universe in a gruesome way.
** Anyone who tries to bully or kill Siyun is basically asking for broken teeth, limbs or gruesome death, depending on the offense and insistence.
* BunnyEarsLawyer:
** The Immortal Godmother, considered the strongest of the five Heaven tier Angels, is also a slightly clumsy, Daoist, OccidentalOtaku.
** According to Siyun, the more powerful an Angel becomes, the quirkier they get, since more of their brains becomes dedicated to fight.
* TheCaligula: Xiao Jinku, Lord of Kangjin, is a warlord that has turned an entire planet into his personal fiefdom, where there's indefinite martial law and gamblers can bet who lives and who is devoured by Copper Mouth.
* CantKillYouStillNeedYou: The forces of the Dragon Slayer Alliance are AlwaysChaoticEvil down to the last soldier, so Siyun usually kills his enemies [[PayEvilUntoEvil every bit]] as mercilessly as they kill others and does not accept the occasional surrender, but every once in a while, he will spare captured enemies that are useful.
* CardCarryingVillain:
** Man-Eating Eagle doesn't even bother to pretend he fights for a greater cause, openly admitting he's a treacherous self-centered sociopath who revels in killing innocent people.
** Angel-Slaying Eagle is the same, an AxCrazy sword wielding madman obsessed with killing strong Angels. He even claims to have killed his own family.
* CharmPerson: SufficientlyAdvancedAliens acknowledged as gods are capable of compelling praise from mere mortals, potentially even up to the point of happily offering themselves up as HumanSacrifice.
* ChekhovsGunman: Remember that waitress Xiao Lu that served Siyun while in Merak? Turns out she's the daughter of a planet lord.
* AChildShallLeadThem: The Pleiades emperor is only ten years old, which is why his step-mother the Dowager Empress intended to get rid of him.
* ChromeChampion: The Divine Metal race are humanoids with golden skin capable of withstanding bullets.
* CircularReasoning: Galaxy News, who are biased in favor of the Dragon Slayer Alliance, is notorious for this. They run "news" stories that fit their preconceived narrative, with no alternate opinions, and only select cherry picked "facts," then turn to an audience poll of dubious veracity, and when said "poll" agrees with them, smile at the camera and professes that their coverage ''must be correct'' because the audience agrees with them. Ding Yuan '''frequently''' suggests unleashing Daxia's cannons upon said self-professed "reporters" in response. Siyun agrees with the sentiment, but not the method.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Ding Yuan is none too pleased to know Siyun is going to meet another girl.
* ColdBloodedTorture: The Jukun soldiers, off screen, capture and torture [[spoiler:weapons factories owned by the Three-Legged Crow]] and use the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingchi Lingchi]] technique on the civilians working there to get them to talk.
* ContrivedCoincidence: Siyun sneaks into the a [=TV=] show production to speak with [[spoiler:Xiao Lu, aka Ningshuang Lu]], daughter of planet's Shenshui's lord. He needs her to set up a meeting with her mother, when her mother walks up to see her at work as well.
* CoolBigSis: Ding Yuan is this for the entire fleet girls.
* CrapsackWorld: Even when there's enough resources for the entire human race, poverty is rampant on some planets, military sees soldiers as disposable pawns, and warlords can turn entire planets into their personal fiefs. Siyun is only one of few leaders who [[ScrewDestiny change this status quo]].
* CrimeOfSelfDefense: Whenever Siyun and Beiyang defend themselves from one asshole or the other, the asshole always try to make it as if Beiyang started the conflict and are justified to eliminate them, despite is being clear as daylight those are BlatantLies. Beiyang responds by annihilating them into little pieces.
** Even the GullibleLemmings of Earth start to get a clue when it becomes impossible to deny that the Dragon Slayer Empire is attempting to destroy the human homeworld, but one professor, who thinks his opinion is more important than everyone else's because he is [[KnowNothingKnowItAll "educated"]], expresses outrage when they are stopped and insists that he and everyone around him must die to atone for Evil Dragon's crimes against the empire.
* CruelMercy: Instead of executing Jukun fleet soldiers who committed war crimes, Xiao Pao and Senggelinqin simply [[GroinAttack crushed their balls]] with a brick.
* DareToBeBadass: Siyun does this to the Shura slaves in chapter 102, asking them to learn from Zhao's example and join him as he brings down the slavers. He does it again with the rest of the Shura, asking them if they are people or livestock.
* DealWithTheDevil:
** In order to become a DeityOfHumanOrigin, Empress Qin offered HumanSacrifice to a dead SufficientlyAdvancedAlien. She ended up failing because the dead god wanted to enact GrandTheftMe, forcing her to cancel the ritual.
** [[spoiler:The Dragon Slayer Empire eventually resurrects that same SufficienylyAdvancedAlien with HumanSacrifice to offer it an alliance, or at the very least use it against Daxia.]]
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: Some of the Jukun Fleet's victims in captured Daxia territory are subjected to the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lingchi Lingchi]] technique, where they have parts of their flesh cut off in a slow and meticulous fashion.
* DeityOfHumanOrigin: SufficientlyAdvancedAliens are considered to be gods, and in theory, a human angel that has obtained sufficient EnlightenmentSuperpowers would be considered a god as well.
* DeniedFoodAsPunishment: Whenever Ding Yuan suggests something overtly violent, Siyun punishes her by denying her either her favorite pork dish or alcohol.
* DetachmentCombat: Planet Lord Shensui Lu Shuiyuan in her battle form can split off her lower body and convert it into an robotic AttackAnimal.
* DidNotThinkThisThrough: When Ditu's prince starts attacking communication satellites, both to engage in (mis)information warfare and to boost his own ego, Siyun takes the logical step of getting replacement satellites '''armed'''. The moment Ditu's fleet is destroyed in a retaliatory strike, Ditu runs to the blatantly biased press and whines about Siyun's "war crime." The internet swallows this ridiculous narrative hook, line, and sinker and starts lambasting Daxia about his "evil ways" until Dragon Empress comments that she'd happily destroy the satellites herself if they want, after all, those bored rich kids are spending way, way too much time on the internet and should have it shut down on them by the destruction of said satellites. At that point, the internet goes strangely silent...
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Part of the backstory. The human race was almost driven to extinction by multiple races of SufficientlyAdvancedAliens. The defiant humanity was ultimately able to turn the tables and wipe them out instead.
* DirtyCoward: A lot of the antagonists fit the bill. They are full of bluster when hiding behind armies of robots and using remote body combat puppets, but piss themselves in fear begging for mercy when all of that fails to save them from Beiyang.
* DirtyKid: The battle puppet [[spoiler:made from Beiyang's main cannons]] sent to join Three-Legged Crow by Siyun looks like Siyun as a middle schooler. The puppet also has a pretty dirty mind -- a lot of his dialogue with the Three-Legged Crow Angels consists of innuendo, double entendres, and perverted requests. Siyun blames this on the fact that he only devoted about 5% of his brain processing power to create the battle puppet.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Ding Yuan has a habit of wanting to inflict severe physical harm or even death for personal insults, whether they are directed at her or Siyun. Siyun always stops her before it gets too far.
* DeadlyEuphemism: "Painting" involves using the body of an asshole as brush and the blood and guts as paint across the floor.
* TheDogBitesBack: What Siyun use to motivate the girls into going against their corrupt supervisors. Since the supervisors keep kicking, the girls bite back even harder.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The moon selling Shura slaves isn't just a slave market. [[spoiler: It's a concentration camp with giant gas chambers.]]
** Siyun broadcasts a soap commercial, with Specialist Bao as one of the "actors" in the shower, surrounded by angry Shura, and he drops his soap before yelling "HELP!"
* DoubleStandard: Especially in the early chapters, but still continuing to the present. The planet lords, and various nobilities that would later become "Dragon Slayer Alliance" run rampant in civilian areas killing by the millions, as well as commit all sorts of atrocity and corruption? (Shrug) "That's simply the cost of war." Mu Siyun becomes Fleet Admiral of Beiyang and dares to defend himself against their blatantly obvious villainy? "FASCIST! TYRANT! PSYCHOTIC DICTATOR! TRAITOR TO HUMANITY!" Even in the current time (Chapter 256), Beiyang and Dragon Slayer Alliance are considered morally equivalent by the majority of the press, despite the fact that Dragon Slayer Alliance ''openly boasts of feeding civilians and unarmed refugees to their war machine'' and routinely starts open conflict in civilian areas. (Anyone with common sense knows that Beiyang, and by extention Daxia, is on the side of good and the Dragon Slayer Alliance is [[HateSink evil]].) This seems to be a [[CrapsackWorld symptom of the classism that is endemic to the setting]] -- Siyun was [[RagsToRoyalty born a commoner]] and thus is acting above his station even though his official position as [[BigGood Fleet Admiral]] marks him as [[FromNobodyToNightmare one of the most powerful authorities in the setting]].
* TheDragon: The Ditu Emperor ultimately takes a Daxia traitor, Concubine Qin, as his empress and the strongest angel in the Dragonslayer Alliance.
* DramaticIrony:
** Zu Zi is a great fan of Himiko, but doesn't know his stepmother whom he ignores is the same person.
** An arrogant second gen thinks he can get away with anything because the ones he tries to bully look poor, not knowing those people are the Heaven Defying Dragon and the Immortal Goddess, which could easily kill him and his entire family for speaking out of turn.
* DueToTheDead:
** Ding Yuan uses cigarettes as a replacement for incense (since its too expensive) to honor those who died in battle.
** Subverted with Zhang and his father. Their bodies are tossed into outer space instead.
* DumbMuscle: The puppet sent by Siyun to help Three-Legged Crow has a rather low brain processing, but that's only relatively. It can still make complex calculations and hack a fleet with enough time.
* EmbarrassingNickname:
** Ding Yuan calls Professor Xing Wuneng "Professor Sexual Impotence", which is a pun of his name.
** Laosan calls Xiong Fengshan "Hamster face" because of his AsianBuckTeeth.
* EnlightenedAntagonist: When asked why she would betray her family and people without the slightest remorse, Empress Mu describes herself as one, having erased all ties, seeking absolute self and being one with the Dao. Though really she's just got a GodComplex based on being TheUnfettered.
* EvilIsPetty: Zhang Ergou refuses to send reinforcements or allow a retreat, letting hundreds of soldiers to die at Insect Queen, just to spite Ding Yuan for destroying his car, accidentally, when attacked by Himiko in her Angel persona.
** Princess Qin Yan asks her new fiancée (a Ditu Prince) to send his Jukun goons to kill Youye because she was wearing the same outfit as Xiao Lu (and she's a non-human wearing traditional clothes).
* TheEvilPrince:
** Not only Merak's Crown Prince tries to kill his youngest brother for being more popular than him, he's in cahoots with Yihuo to reject the abolition of slavery.
** Yijuo's many sons are just as evil and corrupt as he is. They will kill anyone who gets in their way, believing they always have the moral high ground to murder people as they supposedly fight for humanity and humanity's enemies must die, so their enemies are enemies of humanity who must die. Man-Eating Eagle claims that ''none'' of the Princes actually love their father and would gladly assassinate him to take the throne if given the chance.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** While Professor Wuneng may dislike Siyun and is against fighting, he can't stand Bao lambasting the Angels and say that they should get rid of them and replace them with puppets and slaves.
** Xiong Fengshan might be a slimy SnakeOilSalesman, but he greatly dislikes the atrocities Jukun fleet intends to commit on Megrez.
** Galaxy News may be a heavily biased news source that champions the Dragon Slayer Alliance as if they weren't completely evil, but when one of their reporters hears an average Dragon Slayer Alliance citizen boast about how they don't go to war for silly things like defending the country, but to enjoy massacring people, he is taken aback. Having witnessed that the people of Ditu really are an entire nation of sociopaths, he becomes more neutral in his reporting.
* ExactWords: The patriarch of the Qin family, the leader and founder of Dragon Slayer Alliance, promises a great deal on camera that sounds great, on paper, and without proper context, like peaceful resolution of the war his alliance started, and ending the suffering of the commoners, who are being crushed by the villainy of his own people, being forced to fight for every scrap of food. What he doesn't show the camera is that the people ''he personally rules over'' are turned to fertilizer for his Silver Moon Flowers, so he can then process those flowers into a FantasticDrug. Well, dead people don't have needs and aren't fighting over scraps, right? Only [[HolierThanThou Zi Zu]] is fooled.
* EyepatchOfPower: Huang Pi, the Yellow-Skinned Wolf wears one over her right eye.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: After sacrificing his body, Lao Wu admits to Siyun that his actions are worth hell and the corruption brought by the Qin family was because of his own weakness. This acceptance is what allows him to reach Nirvana.
* FacelessMooks: All the low-rank soldiers belonging to antagonistic factions wear "metal" armor that completely conceals their facial features and body hair.
* FairWeatherFriend: When the Qin family head is about to be painted by Siyun, he begs for any of the leaders of the Dragon Slayer Alliance, including his sister, to say something, but they all remain deaf and mute to his pleas.
* FakingTheDead: Siyun pulls this off by apparently sacrificing himself to save the Shura slaves from Yihuo Planet's destruction. Yihuo Planet Lord and others get overconfident in the wake of his "death" and form the "Dragonslayer Alliance". Then it turns out that the "Siyun" who died on Yihuo Planet was actually a remote body. The ''real'' Siyun had spent the past two weeks chilling on Merak Planet and becoming a regular at a little cafe. As a result, Yihuo Planet Lord destroyed his own planet for nothing and all of Siyun's enemies have revealed themselves.
* FalseReassurance: After taking prisoner one of Yihuo's sons, he tells him not to worry, Beiyang will take good care of him. He then leaves him at the tender mercies of some Shura that look ''very'' pissed.
* FantasticDrug: The extract produced from refining "Silver Moon Flower" is highly addictive, each vial requires thousands of flowers, and each flower requires "fertilizer" produced from '''tens of millions of people.'''
* FantasticRacism: Despite Shura being just as intelligent as humans, because of their status as a SlaveRace, people treat them like livestock.
** Every sentient non-human race seen so far has suffered from discrimination and sometimes downright extermination ''for fun''. At best they're seen as second-class citizens.
** The only exception seems to be the Rain Master Race, who submitted themselves to the Holy Race and went into hiding after humanity won. Now they intend to overthrow humanity and become the new rulers of the galaxy.
* AFatherToHisMen: Kind of literally, but Mu Siyun declares all soldiers on his fleet as his daughters, and God help you if you try to harm them.
** Hu Laosan also deeply cares for all the girls of her fleet, even to some who are older than her.
** The Emperor of Pleiades actively tries to invoke this. He's not able to stop the adults around him from hurting the people of his planet, so he seeks out Siyun to bow to him, wanting to be named as one of his sons, all so that Beiyang will do what he can't.
* FeedItABomb:
** When Kangjin's nephew tries to blow up the planet he's in to spite Siyun, Siyun simply shoves the bomb's core down his throat and kicks him all the way to the stratosphere, where he blows up.
** Dragon Empress voluntarily eats several nuclear bombs in order to power up her attack that exterminates each and every insect race that remains on Merak.
* FieryRedhead: Ding Yuan has magenta hair, and she's as fiery as they come.
* FlippingTheBird:
** Siyun gives one to the Dragon Empress when she tries to take over his body.
** Ding Yuan shows her middle finger to Xing Wuneng during a live stream to prove they're going to win the battle of Insect Queen planet.
** Ding Yuan does it again to Ergou when she's telling him that she sprays her blood on his family grave (basically saying his whole family should be aborted).
** Ten Zhang does it to Kangjin when she has enough of his mistreatment and he is forcing her to kill innocent people.
** An epic one occurs in chapter 203 when ''every'' inhabitant of Daxia's planets give the leaders of the Dragon Slayer Alliance the middle finger for all the crap they pulled until now.
** Xiao Pao greets five treacherous admirals on a live stream by flipping them off right after informing them she's very much aware of their planned betrayals. It makes all five of them ''cough blood'' in shock.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Mu Siyun went from being a poor no-name graduate with no career aspects to the feared Dragon Emperor. Turns out this was [[InvokedTrope invoked]] by [[WeHaveBecomeComplacent Daxia's Elders]], who realized he was exactly what was needed to shake humanity out of its stagnant status quo. They needed someone capable who knew what it was like to be weak and powerless, and Siyun fit the bill nicely.
* FrontlineGeneral:
** Siyun is Fleet Admiral and will always fight at the front if the enemy is too powerful or numerous for his "daughters" to defeat.
** Hu Laosan maybe Fleet Admiral of Three-Legged Crow, but she's still an Earth-tier Angel and fights alongside her soldiers in the battle of Immortal Cloud Planet despite her abilities not being focused in fighting.
* GenderBender:
** Xiao Pao, being a battle puppet, eventually changes from a young-looking Siyun, to a teenage girl version of Siyun in order to fit in better with the all-female fleet she has been assigned to. Course, Xiao Pao, being an android, has NoBiologicalSex to begin with, so as she sadly notes, she still cannot have children.
** After assimilating Dragon Empress's HiveMind, Siyun gains access to her collection of bodies, the majority of them being female angels from nearly extinct races. Siyun can change their shape to some degree and often makes them look like his original body, but after a difficult fight with Rain Master, the body he fought him with reverts to her original shape.
* GenderRestrictedAbility: The substance used to create angels normally destroys anything that isn't female. Male angels are technically possible, but it's extremely rare for a man to survive the process, with the last one appearing thousands of years ago. Humans didn't even know that male angels were possible in the first place, with Siyun being the first human man to succeed during a failed attempt to kill him with it.
* GeniusLoci:
** Immortal Cloud Planet is sentient, capable of creating something akin to an air force using ''leaves''. It's the main reason no fleet has been able to conquer it since its discovery.
** All planets have at least some form of intelligence, and if the planet itself is threatened with destruction, it is possible for expert array masters to borrow the planet's help to create a DeflectorShield
* GenocideFromTheInside: The Dragonslayer Empire is an AlwaysChaoticEvil nation of {{Card Carrying Villain}}s. In order to obtain direct membership, you must prove how evil you are by enacting genocide against one's clan, home world, or even species.
** One Daxia traitor obtained membership by slaughtering her family.
** One alien girl laments that she is the LastOfHerKind, her race having been annihilated by the Dragon Slayer Alliance. After she shows her true colors, she gloats that she was the one who betrayed them to the Dragon Slayer Alliance in the first place.
** The highest ranking sect leader of the cultivation world offers up the lives of his daughter, sect, and entire planet in return for joining them.
* AGodAmI: The Ditu Emperor sees himself as a being who is ''above'' the so-called gods, above all other things in the world. Everyone who is not him is equally worthless in his eyes, no more than an insect.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: Qin Hui, the Dowager Empress of Pleiades dynasty not only fired all the soldiers loyal to her husband and replaced them with Ditu's thugs, she's basically selling her stepdaughter to Ditu's emperor and tries to have her young stepson killed.
* GodsNeedPrayerBadly: They don't need it just to exist, but SufficientlyAdvancedAliens are able to harvest energy from belief in them.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Siyun is a very nice guy, but he won't show any mercy nor give you a quick death if you push him hard enough. He even mentions that ancient Chinese guardians were never kind or tolerant, but they punished the wicked by becoming like them.
* GroinAttack:
** When Ergou tries to brag to Ding Yuan that he's in charge during the Battle of Insect Queen Planet, she answers by putting a firecracker in his pants.
** Siyun does this to some lackeys of Kangjin, knocking them out. The leader gets boiling water in his private parts instead.
** Siyun does it again to a Yihuo prince, whose father is the biggest slave trader in the galaxy, right after he tries to make his goons beat up Siyun for no reason.
** Xiao Pao and Senggelinqin rather than executing captured Jukun soldiers simply crush their balls with a brick.
** Siyun does it to some Jukun soldiers on Earth who have escalated a fight with him. The captions for these attacks read, "Affectionate" and "Elegant."
** When the mooks guarding princess Qin Yan try to stop Zhen Yuan from taking her under custody, she answers by hitting every one of them in the nuts.
* GuiltFreeExterminationWar: All of the [[SufficientlyAdvancedAlien divine races]] aside from the [[PerfectPacifistPeople divine metal race]] attempted to drive humanity to extinction. Humanity managed to [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu gain the upper hand]] and exterminated them instead.
* GullibleLemmings: Dragonslayer Alliance officials tend to be ObviouslyEvil {{Card Carrying Villain}}s that openly brag about how evil they are and how much they like to KillThePoor. Despite this, they get a decent amount of public support from Daxia citizens.
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[spoiler:Xiao Lu]] is half human and half Yayu, giving her an incredible healing ability.
* HateSink: It's as if every antagonist goes out of its way to be as much of an asshole as possible. Which makes Siyun killing them all the more satisfying.
* HealingFactor:
** The Shura have much better natural healing factors than humans. When supercharged by the Shura Demonic Tune, they can outright regenerate limbs.
** The Yayu people of Shenshui are a centaur-like race with an incredible healing factor. They can produce 1,000 times the amount of blood in a day as a normal human, donate it, and walk away only a little woozy. A half-human hybrid of one of them still has a healing rate 30 times better than a human's.
* HeelFaceTurn: While he was more a jackass political pundit than outright evil, Professor Xing Wuneng was very critical of Siyun and his tactics. It is after [[spoiler:his body is killed and his mind placed in a robot version of himself]] that he starts siding more with Siyun and against others who now support the Dragon Slaying Alliance.
* HeroWithBadPublicity: Zigzagged. While Siyun is feared and hated by a large portion of the male population, an enormous part of the female population loves him.
** His image improves a lot in some circles after he kills Kangjin and proclaiming he will clean up the Beiyang fleet from the evil and corrupt during a live stream.
** After he rescues royalty on Merak, his reputation among the upper classes improves but at the cost of some of the goodwill he developed among the masses. His detractors then call him a lapdog of royalty. Ultimately it seems like no matter what he does he won't be able to please everybody.
** It doesn't help that media coverage is biased to making him seem as scary and wicked as possible, likely because this kind of story gets better ratings.
** Hilariously enough, after Siyun captures the enemies responsible for the Dragon Slayer Alliance's propaganda and forces them to work for him, they successfully improve the public approval rating they themselves soiled almost instantly. The public is [[GullibleLemmings just too easy]] to influence.
* HiveMind: This is essentially what a Soul-Tier angel is. If an angel reaches a high enough power level, they become able to control multiple bodies. Dragon Empress, the only living Soul-Tier, built up her collection of bodies by capturing suitable angels and destroying their original personalities, placing them under her control. When she attempts to do the same to Siyun, he manages to [[AssimilationBackfire turn it on her]], claiming her power and HiveMind for himself. He has been shown operating ''three'' bodies at once: one acts as him for public appearances, another is the "Dragon Empress" who is officially Beiyang's Soul-Tier Angel, and the third is his real body.
* HiveQueen: The Insect Queen is obviously this.
* HolierThanThou: Zu Zi loves taking the high-moral ground and decrying Siyun as a brutal warmonger despite never even meeting him, ignoring all the good he has done for the universe and deluding himself into believing all the people he has killed could have been reasoned with. That he's a condescending racist towards Youye because her race recently adopted a more civilized culture only makes him look like a self-righteous ignorant.
* HotSkittyOnWailordAction: Discussed by some security people when they meet a full blood Yayu of planet Shenshui who is visiting the planet to see her daughter. The mother is 10ft or taller with a centaur-like body. The father is a normal human. When she departs, one security person says to the other, "Gotta hand it to her husband."
* HouseWife: Himiko is just a humble house wife when not at the fleet.
* HumanResources: There are certain battle puppets which require the sacrifice of people to charge them up for combat. They can take anywhere from a few to well over a hundred per puppet. These types are typically favored by the villains of the story.
--> '''Retired Angel:''' How many people did you sacrifice to the puppets just to kill me?\
'''Enemy Fighter:''' Two hundred thousand. There are tons of interstellar refugees after all. If it weren't for me giving them this chance, they would just be a bunch of useless peasants, living without a purpose. Sacrificing them to the puppets is their only honor in life. They'll be grateful.
* HumanSacrifice: It is possible to revive a half dead SufficientlyAdvancedAlien by offering them enough lives. No, as acknowledged InUniverse, it isn't scientific, yet it and other forms of occult seem to work.
* HumansAreBastards: Most non-human races are either perfectly sentient and relatively peaceful or mindless drones, but the most common and disgusting antagonists are all human.
* {{Hypocrite}}:
** The "Justice Council" terrorist group claims to be an anti-establishment anti-royal faction who want to bring equality to everyone. However, they have no qualms working with and accepting money from corrupt nobility and royalty to assassinate some of the only royalty who actually care about their subjects.
** Yihuo's Planet Lord plays the victim card by accusing Siyun of betraying humanity (because he convinced the Shura to see themselves as people and fight for their freedom). It turns out that the Planet Lord abandoned his own humanity a long time ago by using the Insect Race's technology to transform himself into an Insect King.
** The Dragon Slayer Alliance also claims to be fighting for humanity and that Beiyang and Siyun are traitors, right after trying to destroy an already weakened Three-Legged Crow (intending on killing thousands of soldiers) and using forbidden technology to make themselves immortal.
** Siyun himself is not free from this. He looks down on some the villains, like the Rain Master assassin, for using Holy Race technologies as a shortcut to power, yet most of his personal powerups come from incorporating ever more of the same technologies.
* IconicOutfit: Siyun's green hoodie, which he always uses while incognito.
* IHatePastMe: Dying, and experiencing MyLifeFlashedBeforeMyEyes, Ding Yuan wants to punch her memory of her scheming, backstabbing, bratty childhood self to death.
* ImAHumanitarian: Xiao Pao devours Angel-Slaying Eagle to compensate the material used during the previous battle. Considering he was an AxCrazy lunatic, other than being shocked, Three-legged Crow's girls [[AssholeVictim don't give a damn]].
* ImportedAlienPhlebotinum: Humanity ultimately won the war against the [[SufficientlyAdvancedAliens divine races]], partially by stealing their technology and using it against them, such as the process used to create angels. It should be noted that humanity even now has yet to fully understand said technology.
* IRejectYourReality: Everyone who is opposed to Beiyang fleet, especially with Siyun as the Fleet Admiral, has utterly convinced themselves that he's a psychotic barbarian of a warlord, despite all evidence to the contrary. Professor Wuneng had a change of heart after being killed and having his consciousness downloaded into a robotic puppet, but everyone else, especially Zu Zi, remains completely unswayed by any and all empirical evidence. Even when Zu Zi is given a precise historical parallel showcasing the atrocities of the Aryan occupation (which an earlier scene showed is precisely the end goal of Ditu and Dragon Slayer Alliance), and how said atrocities were stopped, he responds "well, those were savage times, and we're civilized now." When one of his fellow students gets fed up and shouts at him that her people were hunted to the edge of extinction ''for fun'' less than 30 years ago, he retorts to her "you just recently became civilized, you don't count." It's enough that his history teacher says "well, when you're getting your teeth punched in, just clench your jaw and bear it, because obviously fighting back is uncivilized" and "you're still young, there's plenty of time for you to face a beating... er I mean reality." This is all very odd, considering that he was introduced being bullied, and punched around, and talking things through clearly didn't help. It was only when said bullies got death threats ''from their parents'' after pelting Siyun with a soda can, and he fired said parents, that the bullying stopped, and even then one of the bullies had to get a broken leg after physically assaulting Siyun in a foolish revenge attempt before getting the message.
* IrrationalHatred: Zu Zi seems to hate Siyun and everything about him because he solves the galaxy's problems by killing the worst evil doers, even though it's obvious attempting dialog is nothing but naive pipe-dreams.
* IWarnedYou: When Siyun is about to use Ergou to paint the deck with his blood, he reminds him that he gave him and his father enough chances to back down and let bygones be bygones.
* JerkassGods: As horrible as humanity is, the [[SufficientlyAdvancedAlien "gods"]] were a lot worse and the universe has become much better for their loss.
* JudgeJuryAndExecutioner: Siyun brings with him Daxia's sword of State, which allows him to execute criminals on the spot. Considering the people he executes are traitors and war criminals of the worst kind, it is no surprise almost no one bats an eye when he blow them up or beats them to death.
* KickTheDog: From letting thousands of soldiers die out of spite, killing innocents for the amusement of the rich and corrupt, to using civilians as ''fuel'' for their puppets, every antagonist goes out of their way to show how much of an irredeemable scumbags they are. This unsurprisingly leads to their deaths.
* KillTheOnesYouLove: One angel, a childhood friend of Siyun and rumored ex, decides that the key to happiness is becoming a sociopathic CardCarryingVillain. She turns traitor, embracing the SocialDarwinism of the Dragonslayer Empire and killing countless former comrades via her betrayal. She embraces the Ditu Emperor's GodComplex as her ideal so thoroughly, that she even decides that she is willing to die for him. In the end, her crimes are so great that Siyun feels the need to personally "paint" her, killing her with his own hands. Siyun feels obligated to enact fair justice, but since he isn't actually a psychopath like his enemies, it takes an emotional toll on him.
* KineticWeaponsAreJustBetter: The battle puppet sent to help Three-Legged Crow overcomes the Dragonslayer Alliance's main ship's barrier which can withstand any beam weaponry by firing physical shells. Since the main ship is sturdy enough to tank meteor hits, said shells are made from the iron cores of Cloud Immortal Planet's 65 moons condensed into one cubic centimeter and fired from massive cannons that are plugged directly into the Cloud Immortal Planet itself. The resulting super dense shells fired at such a high velocity end up warping space itself and easily wipe out the Dragonslayer Alliance's main ship along with the entire accompanying fleet.
* KingIncognito:
** Siyun doesn't reveal he's the new Fleet Admiral of Beiyang Fleet for the first three months, and only reveals his identity after he has disposed of Zhang and his father.
** He and Ding Yuan do this later to infiltrate Kangjin's planet.
** When he and some of his followers visit Ditu, Siyun's ex-girlfriend does recognize him. Unfortunately for her new boyfriend, he has already ordered his goons to kill Siyun. OhCrap is his following reaction.
** Lu Ning-Shuang doesn't reveal to her friends or coworkers she is the daughter of a Planet Lord, making her a princess because she wants to succeed in her careers on her own merits.
* KlingonPromotion: How the Ditu Emperor expects one of his children to succeed him. Mind you, even if that's how he wants his authority to be passed on, if the child in question fails, the entire portion of the royal family belonging to them [[RevengeByProxy will be exterminated]] for [[DoWrongRight failing]]. The Emperor has countless concubines and descendants, as well as a certain LackOfEmpathy, so massacring his own blood isn't a huge deal to him.
* LackOfEmpathy: To the Dragon Slayer Alliance, common people are nothing more than cannon fodder, meat resources or pests to be exterminated. In turn Siyun sees them in the exact same way.
* TheLadette: Ding Yuan is a rather crude and ill-mannered woman, to put it lightly. Her influence means that most of Beiyang's Angels have shades of this as well.
* LaserGuidedKarma: All the antagonists get what's coming to them sooner or later, usually as a direct result of their own actions.
** The immortals of the cultivation world preach a caste system, where your status is determined by birth, and it is downright sinful for a commoner to have talent of any kind. They teach that those of a lesser station not only can, but ''should'' be treated like livestock, and that anything else is a crime against justice and the heavens. When the Dragonslayer Empire offers to integrate them, they gladly accept the superior beings as their own masters, expecting their heavenly reward, only to be harvested like livestock themselves via the Dragonslayer Empire's LifeDrinker "gods". They only survive because Daxia defeats the Dragonslayer Forces, but even so, they lose all of their strength and position, effectively becoming even lower than those they once treated as slaves.
* LastOfHisKind: Aside from the [[PerfectPacifistPeople divine metal race]], which sided with humanity, humans managed to drive all other [[SufficientlyAdvancedAlien divine races]] to extinction in retaliation for [[GuiltFreeExterminationWar trying to do the same to them]]. However, traces of them still remain here and there. Dragon Empress, along with her collection of bodies, has some remnants. There is also a half dead divine Weaver race member, of whom all is left is a [[MechanicalLifeforms gigantic mechanical kidney]], a SealedEvilInACan that could theoretically be used to revive the dead god.
* LesCollaborateurs: During the war against the divine races, most of humanity betrayed their own species to aliens planning to drive humanity to extinction in the hopes that the divine races would kill them last.
* LikesClarkKentHatesSuperman: Himiko's stepson, Zu Zi, is a huge fan of her Angel persona and has a lot of her images on posters and merchandise. Towards his stepmother, he is at best indifferent and at worst a rude jackass.
* LittleBitBeastly: Lu Ning-Shuang, being half-human half-Yayu, only has large cat-like ears, while her mother is practically a feline centaur.
* LiteralSplitPersonality: It seems Dragon Empress has developed the capability of acting outside of Siyun's indications, albeit their personalities remain very similar.
* LongRangeFighter: Zhen may not fight on the front lines, but she's probably the deadliest sniper in the whole fleet. Which is not to say she ''can't'' fight in melee. Given that she's the strongest of a race who ''all'' have SuperStrength, she's arguably ''even deadlier'' in close range combat.
* LoopholeAbuse: While on Pleiades Dynasty, Beiyang members can't bring weapons into the planet. The Shuras accompanying them ''don't'' need [[SuperStrength weapons]].
* LostTechnology: While human technology in general has far surpassed what it was during the god slaying era, so many weapon engineers were killed during the war that military technology had to be redeveloped pretty much from scratch, with much remaining lost. Also not helping matters is the fact that with humanity on the brink of extinction at the hands of {{Precursors}}, engineers were desperate enough to resort to [[{{Magitek}} the occult]], whereas modern engineers focus on science that is actually understood. As a result, the Heaven tier angels of today are a lot weaker than the Earth tier angels of the past, despite having a higher rank
* MagicKiss: Siyun gives one to Ding Yuan to absorb her Holy Blood and turns it into damage output.
* MagicMusic: The legendary Shura Demon Tune is a song that supercharges the Shura's already superhuman abilities, making them as powerful as Earth-Tier Angels. It was thought to be lost forever since the Shura Demonic Instrument was destroyed centuries ago and the last known singer was executed decades ago. However, it turns out one other Shura did know the song and clung to life keeping the secret. They passed the song on to Siyun, and Siyun then used his powers to play the song without needing the Demonic Instrument.
* {{Magitek}}: Various occult practices, such as alchemy and HumanSacrifice, make no scientific sense, and yet they seem to work and can be integrated into technology to form things like a DeflectorShield or to create a DeityOfHumanOrigin.
* MakeAnExampleOfThem: One of the rare occasions this is done by the good guys. Whenever Siyun defeats a villain of sufficient rank and crimes, he "paints" them by grinding them against a wall. He brutally beats [[CardCarryingVillain Man-Eating]] [[TheSociopath Eagle]] to death in front of several nobles who were intending to defect to the Dragon Slayer Alliance to show them what will happen if he gets his hands on them and they have committed war crimes under his watch. [[spoiler:It also serves as a distraction to allow Ding Yuan to switch places with Pleiades' First Princess.]]
* MaliciousSlander: "Galaxy News" is not a news service, but a raging tabloid. Without giving Siyun a single interview, they publish whatever they want regarding his conduct, most of which is both damning and completely untrue, up to and including his UrbanLegendLoveLife. The only reason they have viewers is that they seemingly have a monopoly with no other "news service" available.
* MamaBear: Lu Shuiyuan promised her late husband she wouldn't kill other human beings, but that doesn't stop her from giving Princess Qin Yan a brutal flick with her finger that sends her flying for trying to poison her daughter.
** When Ding Yuan meets the child emperor of Pleiades, not knowing who he is, she treats him like her adopted child. When the Empress Dowager's thugs try to kill him, she tears apart the entire army, and then the EvilPrince who fired upon her, the moment she gets her hands on him, she makes good on her threat to rip him apart, grabbing him by the jaw and ripping downward, giving him a gruesome death.
* MechanicalLifeforms: Angels are [[GenderRestrictedAbility women]] who have been augmented with divine blood. They can freely shift [[PartialTransformation parts of their bodies]] between biological and mechanical form. Several of the divine races, while capable of shifting to biological forms, seem to default to fully mechanical forms.
* MenAreTheExpendableGender: Inverted. Because only women can become Angels, masculine casualties are far less common, and the higher ups have no problem sending thousands of women to their deaths so they can enrich themselves.
* MilesGloriosus: The leaders of Dragon Slayer Alliance, especially Specialist Bao, love to brag about how they're hot shit and Siyun is a total weakling that they can literally step on like a bug, from the other side of a faster-than-light transmission, or while they think Siyun is unable to go to them. The moment they find themselves in the same room, they're so busy frozen in place with fear that he could calmly beat one of their top subordinates, like Man Eating Eagle, to death, right in front of them, and they do nothing, even after he gave them permission to try and stop him. As soon as they think he's gone, they go right back to shamelessly bragging how helpless he would have been if they hadn't decided to let him go... for reasons.
* AMillionIsAStatistic: The Qin family patriarch openly admits, on live broadcast, that he and the leaders of Dragon Slayer alliance see the deaths of their subjects, by the millions, as simply a matter to discuss over dinner, and of no consequence. Although the leaders of Dragon Slayer Alliance dismiss his promise to [[DeadlyEuphemism paint two of them within the next seven days]], as a "childish tantrum," they start sweating bullets the moment he reveals that he learned their location from listening to their EvilGloating.
* MoralMyopia: When Siyun is about to exterminate a fleet of 500,000 from the Dragon Slayer Alliance, their leaders have the gall to ask if he feels no remorse for taking so many lives. These are the same people willing to kill an even larger number of innocent civilians just for their own amusement.
** Qin's patriarch chews out Siyun for the death of over 10,000 troops that he himself put on annihilation bombs that were not only trying to kill Siyun, but the 45 million people in Silver Triangle system that Siyung was protecting.
* MuggingTheMonster: Siyun seems to be a magnet for arrogant second gens who think they can bully him because he looks of low status. While one of them quickly apologizes and becomes the fleet's newest manservant, the next one gets his knee broken. [[TooDumbToLive And he still tries to get revenge]]. And the next ones keep making the same mistakes, to the point ii's practically a RunningGag.
* MundaneUtility: [[spoiler:Xiao Lu]] uses her incredible healing powers in her acting profession. Because serious bruising and welts on her face can heal in minutes where humans would take days or weeks, she allows her fellow actor to seriously beat her during shots to add to the realism of their conflicts.
* MyGodYouAreSerious: When Siyun's old university professor tells her students she was his teacher at one time, they don't believe her. Then when Siyun is visiting Earth to talk with her and one student is about to be attacked for being a non-human wearing traditional Chinese clothing in a traditional area, Siyun defends the student and reveals his power and identity. The professor takes the student away from the fray for her safety.
-->'''Mountain-Demon Student:''' So violent. Is he a special force?\
'''Professor:''' I told you already. That's your senior brother Mu Siyun.\
'''Mountain-Demon Student:''' Beiyang's Fleet Admiral? He was actually your student?\
'''Professor:''' Did you all think I was bluffing?\
'''Mountain-Demon Student:''' Yes, sorry.
* {{Naytheist}}: The Ditu Emperor acknowledges AbusivePrecursors as gods, but is arrogant enough to regard them as mere tools to aid in his conquest.
* NeverMyFault: Zi Zu can't possibly comprehend how he can be wrong, about anything. When warned by a trusted classmate that Qin's promises can't possibly be true, Zi Zu still insists that Qin, a known mass-murderer, is somehow a better person than Siyun "because at least he's willing to talk things out", but when it's pointed out to him that he's biased by his own admission for a Siyun fixation, he cries out "I'm not fixated! SOCIETY IS FIXATED!"
* NiceJobFixingItVillain:
** Ergou decides to kill Siyun to hurt Dang Yuan by throwing him to the Holy Blood that grants Angels their powers. Not only Siyun survives, he makes the blood his own and becomes the fabled Soul Tier in the process.
** Kangjin does the same mistake by trying to kill Siyun using liquid metal from Metal Planet, which is exactly what Siyun needed to complete his new form along with Copper Mouth's body.
** Ditu's Emperor forcing Three-Legged Crow to take Immortal Cloud Planet lest they lose their funding and are forced to dissolve, which is almost suicidal and certain to cause thousands of casualties, allows Siyun to send his puppet to the rescue, annihilating a huge Dragon Slayer Fleet and uniting all three fleets under his command against the traitorous lords that make up Dragon Slayer alliance.
** Jukun fleet attacking a weakened Three-Legged Crow while on Megrez only served to inform the other three Fleets of their treachery, allowing Xiao Pao to evolve further and take over their satellite cannon, with all their assets on Megrez confiscated. While their Fleet Admiral tries to play it down, it's clear the monetary loss was great.
** Rain Master splitting Siyun's body down to an atomic level actually allows Mu to ''reconstruct himself'' to create an even more powerful Puppet form using Holy Corpses. He even thanks him since he saved him a lot of time.
** And then it turns out that kidnapping him and putting him in the alternate dimension in the first place, in the attempt to kill him, put him at ''the perfect location'' to intercept a Ditu fleet that was planning to attack a Daxia freighter and subject the crew to the Lingchi technique, at the orders of the EvilStepmother of the Pleiades emperor.
** On top of that, said freighter was carrying a piece of Holy Race tech that is eventually used to rebuild Siyun ''again'' into an even stronger PhysicalGod. One that is powerful enough to thrash the Qin family's own drugged up PhysicalGod.
* NonIdleRich: Hu Laosan comes from a very important and wealthy family, but she chose to become an angel because of the snobbiness of her relatives.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: The emperor of Ditu pretends to be a FatBastard to make his enemies underestimate him. He believes that Siyun destroys his enemies so dramatically and allows himself to be a HeroWithBadPublicity for similar reasons.
* OhCrap:
** Laosan has this reaction when she realizes Jukun and the Dragon Slayer Alliance will most likely target her family, just as she remembers she has relatives who are good people.
** The Qin Family Head loses all composure upon realizing that Siyun both knows where he is ''and'' has a means of reaching him, meaning Siyun can make good on his promise to paint him.
* OneManArmy: A Soul Tier can decimate an entire army within minutes.
* {{Oni}}: Mountain Demon Race like Youchao Youye look like Oni.
* OurCentaursAreDifferent: Planet Lord Shensui Lu Shuiyuan is member of the Yayu race, which look like feline centaurs with fox-like ears.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: If gods are at the peak of the universe as it is, then their equal counterparts, demons, are beings that overturn the natural order to define their own.
* OurGodsAreDifferent: Venerated beings that have reached the peak of existence, whether via EvolutionaryLevels or via EnlightenmentSuperpowers.
* OutGambitted: Yihuo Planet Lord's plot to lure Siyun to his planet with a puppet double so he can blow it up and kill Siyun is foiled because Siyun ''also'' used a puppet body. Siyun then faked being dead long enough to allow opportunistic nobles to form the "Dragonslayer Alliance" with Yihuo Planet Lord, drawing Siyun's enemies out into the open.
* PaperTiger: Siyun outright calls the Yihuo Thirteen Eagles assassin group this since they rely entirely on money and technology to maintain their brutal reputation.
* ParentalFavoritism: One of the reasons Merak's Crown Prince betrays his youngest brother and launches a coup against his father the Emperor is because he resented the way his father favored his brother over him.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Siyun and his allies always treat their enemies with the same kindness they show to other people. [[CruelAndUnusualDeath None]].
* PerfectPacifistPeople: The divine metal race are SufficientlyAdvancedAliens and basically an entire race of Buddhist moks. They possess massive defensive power, but are normally unwilling to attack. They were the only divine race to side with humanity and are the only divine race that survived the god killing war.
* PhenotypeStereotype: When Siyun meets an online friend, his daughters assume instantly that she's a Westerner, because she has blonde hair and blue eyes, and Iron Pagoda says that he should eat with her because of her 'Fancy Western Food.' This despite it taking place in the future and said friend not being from America ''or'' the West, but another planet entirely.
* PhysicalGod: With every upgrade, Siyun and his bodies become closer and closer to the Divine Race in power. And the Dragon Slayer Alliance still think [[SuicidalOverconfidence they are]] [[KillTheGod god slayers]].
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Nearly every antagonist is either misogynistic, classist or racist, usually a combination of all three.
* PowerMakesYourHairGrow: Siyun's hair grows when using the Dragon Empress' powers.
* PragmaticVillainy: Ditu citizens are forbidden from murdering one another outside of designated areas and must pay a fine if they do so anyways. After all, while human life holds no value whatsoever, even to the average Ditu citizen, their cities still need to maintain a basic level of hygiene.
* PrinceCharming: Despite his initial antagonism of Siyun, the Seventh Prince of Merak is actually this. He's ultimately a good (if naive) young man who wants peace and is willing to defy the status quo by abolishing slavery and treating the Shura as people. Siyun recognizes that he's a good person and decides to ally with him and protect him.
* PunchClockVillain: Shi Zhang Copper Mouth only works for Xiao Jinku because he holds her brother's treatment hostage. Otherwise she's not a bad person.
* RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: A good way to know if the soldiers Siyun is about to kill deserve it or they were simply following orders is if they proudly proclaim they will rape the female companion(s) Siyun happens to be with. So far none have passed the test.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech:
** Pleiades Emperor gives one to his stepmother and all her cronies, saying they brought shame upon their ancestors and their sacrifices during the God Slayer war by siding with the Dragon Slayer Alliance, who remorselessly uses the Divine Race technology that caused the war in the first place.
** Ditu's Emperor gives another speech to said stepmother when he refuses to save her from being killed by Beiyang. He claims that she's a fool who mistakes political talent for true strength and lacks clear goals which he believes is necessary for someone who wishes to rule a country or an alliance. He contrasts her with Siyun, whom he has come to acknowledge as a formidable foe, who does have goals.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Daxia's Elders appear to be this. They are fully aware that the status quo is toxic and stagnant. This is why they made Siyun a Fleet Admiral -- they realized he had the right background and profile to shake things up and change the status quo. All he needed was power, which they gave to him.
* RecognitionFailure: People can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea that someone as apparently unassuming as Siyun to be the dreaded Heaven Defying Dragon King
* RedBaron: Heaven Defying Dragon King, Iron Pagoda, Eight-headed Serpent, Immortal Godmother, you name it.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Siyun's eyes glow red when he's about to utterly wreck Rain Master by ''creating a freaking [[BeyondTheImpossible black hole]]!''
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Shi Zhang realizes the error of following Kangjin by fatally overloading her body, allowing Siyun to incorporate her body and potential.
** Lao Wu, the corrupted Divine Metal Race, regains his senses and sacrifices his body to block the shot from a Dragon Slayer cannon.
* RemoteBody: Siyun gains the ability to create Soul Soldiers after becoming a Soul Tier. He uses this to hide his true nature as a male Soul Tier Angel via creating a Soul Soldier dubbed the "Dragon Empress".
* RetiredBadass:
** Planet Lord Shensui Lu Shuyuan retired from the military after the death of her husband, but when rank two puppets threaten her beloved daughter, she proves why [[spoiler:she's the fourth Heaven tier]].
** Youye's grandfather, as well as his friends Battery, Fox and Blade Handle may look like old geezers, but they're all veterans from the Hungry Demon Planet battle years ago, and they have far from lost their skill. [[MuggingTheMonster Just ask the assassins stupid enough to attack them]].
* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: Siyun's normal appearance is apparently so average and unassuming assholes can't help but try and bully him. [[MuggingTheMonster That's usually the last mistake they'll ever make]].
* RidiculouslyHumanRobots: The robot with Professor Wuneng's consciousness has the same personality and can even SweatDrop.
* RoyalBlood: Zhen Yuan is the last descendant of the Shura tribe's leaders and is more powerful than the average Shura (who ''all'' have SuperStrength and SuperToughness) as a result.
* RunningGag: It happens so often it's almost funny; Asshole tries to bully or kill Siyun for being lowborn, Siyun calmly asks if he's really going to kill an unarmed civilian in broad daylight, Asshole answers "Of course", Siyun or his followers proceed to break a few limbs and kill mooks, then rinse and repeat.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections:
** Zhang Ergou thinks he can get away with anything because his father is a rear admiral. Siyun (who has even higher connections despite having been anointed very recently), couldn't care less about that shit, so he kills him and his father.
** Xiao Jinku also believes he's untouchable because of the connections he has with the other warlords. Siyun doesn't give a rat's ass about his connections and proclaims he will punish them as well if they dare to try.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: Immortal Godmother decides to aid Siyun against the Justice Council, even if it means deploying her weapons inside the Merak Dynasty (with whom they have a non-offensive weapons agreement).
* {{Seers}}: Hui Haozi, Three-Legged Crow Grey Mouse, is able to see visions of sort through a shamanistic ritual that's been perpetrated since the foundation of their fleet.
* ShutUpHannibal:
** Just as Yihuo tries to beg for his life arguing killing him would do nothing more than upset the balance of the universe and make him an enemy of every member of the Dragon Slayer Alliance, Siyun answers by painting him ''on Merak's moon'' until there's nothing left.
** When Pleiades Empress orders Ding Yuan to not kill prince Da Biantai because his father is the leader of the Dragon Slayer alliance, Ding Yuan answers by ripping him from the jaws, tells the empress he killed 150,000 innocent people, that peasant and high born are still lives and if she wants to kill her, she should come and try it.
** Professor Wuneng 2.0 beats the shit out of specialist Bao for dismissing the sacrifices humanity did during the God Slaying war a hundred years ago (keep in mind the robot's body is shaped like a can), while admitting Siyun has done a great service to the universe.
* SlasherSmile: Siyun gives one to the Dragon Slayer alliance watching the live stream while declaring he will take away 60% of ''everything they own'' as compensation for the money he spent annihilating Yihuo.
* SlaveRace: The Shura like Zhen Yuan have been a slave race ever since their clan leader surrendered to spare the Shura from complete genocide.
* SlipknotPonytail: Ding Yuan's ponytail occasionally comes undone, letting her hair cascade down her back.
* SlobsVsSnobs: The Beiyang fleet is composed mostly of the poorest and most desperate members of society, while the other fleets are wealthy and their soldiers can live in luxury.
* SmugSnake: While Yihuo was smart enough to leave a robot to trick Siyun, after gloating how he's going to take over the Merak dynasty and become something of a GodEmperor, Siyun reveals he just wanted to know his plans before ruining them. Cut to [[OhCrap Dragon Empress tearing a hole through his fleet]].
** Rain Master acts all smug and haughty when he thinks he has a chance against Siyun, proclaiming his intention of overthrowing humanity with his race on top, only for Siyun to inform him he already has a way to destroy him, before starting to wreck ''space itself''.
* TheSocialDarwinist: Ditu praises the virtue of the strong eating the weak. To make matters worse, they believe that VirtueIsWeakness. In their minds, the ultimate form of strength is sheer cruelty. They thus commit the most depraved and heinous acts they can spare the resources for to prove how strong they are, making them a bunch of {{Card Carrying Villain}}s.
* SociopathicSoldier: While most of the soldiers working for the Dragon Slayer Alliance are this, the Thirteen Eagles are easily the worst of the bunch.
* SuperIntelligence: One of the benefits of being an angel is that your brain becomes the equivalent of a supercomputer when it comes to battle calculations, encryption, and hacking. The downside is that battle uses up most of the angel's brain, turning them into a GeniusDitz outside of battle when they progress far enough. Nevertheless, after reaching a high enough tier, even this disadvantage is eventually lost, turning them into actual geniuses.
* TemptingFate: Just as Yihuo proclaims to the Shura that there's no way the Heaven Defying Dragon King will descend from the sky and punish the wicked, Siyun immediately descends on the planet on a lightning.
* SmashTheSymbol: The Dragonslayer Alliance's main motive for attempting to destroy Earth, the human home world, is to destroy it as a symbol to humanity's past and make it easier to rewrite history in their own image. After all, if Earth dies, it will eventually become a mythical existence, as there will no longer be any solid evidence it ever existed at all.
* TheSocialExpert: One of Siyun's most dangerous weapons is his uncanny ability to read people. He is thus able to predict their actions and deal with them appropriately. One of the few times he messed this up was when he failed to realize that Ten Zhang wasn't a monster but instead a good-hearted young woman ForcedIntoEvil.
* SpiritCultivationGenre: The way angels work and improve themselves is loosely based on this genre, except the means lean more towards {{Magitek}} rather than pure occult.
* SpoiledBrat:
** Zhang Ergou is a MilitaryBrat who thinks he can get away with anything because his father is an admiral. Siyun makes sure he and his old man don't make the same mistake ever again.
** The sons of Yihuo are just as spoiled and arrogant, and believe they can bully, enslave or kill anyone that offends them. They all get a healthy dose of karma.
* TheStarscream: The Dragon Slayer Alliance are revealed to have been plotting to overthrow the Daxia alliance for years, Siyun being a convenient excuse to openly declare their intentions.
* StatuesqueStunner:
** Zhen Yuan comes from a species that are taller than humans called Shura (she's at least two heads taller than Siyun), and she's busty and beautiful.
** "Dragon Empress" is even taller than Zhen Yuan and is widely regarded as the WorldsMostBeautifulWoman.
* TheStoic: After becoming a Soul-tier, Siyun almost always remains cool and collected, regardless of what his enemies throw at him, physically or verbally. The only times he loses it is when his UrbanLegendLoveLife is mentioned.
* StopWorshippingMe: When the Shura bow down to him and proclaim him to be their savior, he bluntly tells them to stop. He's no god or saint who loves all living things. Siyun claims he only loves people. He then challenges the Shura to take control of their own lives by asking them if they are "livestock" or "people". They all decide they are people.
* StupidEvil: Each antagonist the moment it enters the scene does something incredibly evil or petty to showcase their power over others, [[MuggingTheMonster only for their intended victims]] [[TheDogBitesBack to fight back]], who now have a perfectly good reason to tear them a new one without remorse.
* SuicidalOverconfidence: Even after [[BeyondTheImpossible Beiyang's deeds]], [[FromNobodyToNightmare power]] [[BerserkButton and how they respond to injustices]] become well known, [[BullyingTheDragon the antagonists still think they can kill them just as easily as if they were bugs]] because of their status, money and numerous puppets. Siyun and his followers make sure they never make that mistake twice.
** Several newcomers of the [[NebulousEvilOrganisation Dragon Slayer Alliance]] celebrate as if they have already won their rebellion ''before fighting any battles'' and are already deciding who gets which planet as a spoil of war, despite knowing they just made enemies not only of four of the five [[WorldsStrongestMan Heaven tiers]], but of someone who will undoubtedly "paint" them if he gets his hands on them.
* SuperStrength: Zhen is so strong she can punch the teeth out of a man with a light hit. Apparently all Shura have that strength. Zhen is even stronger than the average Shura due to her RoyalBlood.
* TeamPet: Doggie the fox-like creature, who is also apparently an officer.
* TeethFlying: Getting slapped by a Shura usually sends teeth flying just to remind us how strong they are.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Siyun executes Dowager Empress Qin Hui with a weapon capable of disintegrating complete ship formations that costs ''''Billions'''' to fire, destroying her to very molecules. Even Siyun lampshades it, but no one is complaining about her death.
* TheyJustDontGetIt: No matter how hard they get their asses kicked or how much they lost, the villains of Dragon Slayer Alliance all keep doing exactly what provokes the Beiyang fleet, especially Siyun, to kick their asses in the first place, somehow expecting things to go differently, each and every time and all the while failing to learn from their own mistakes.
* TokenMiniMoe: Varyag the Golden Hamster is the youngest and shortest of the Angels seen so far. She's later joined by Aya the young Shura girl.
* TooDumbToLive:
** Zhang severely overestimates his influence, and even when it's clear Siyun won't show him any mercy if he keeps talking bullshit about his girls. He keeps pushing until Siyun is about to rip his entrails out in front of his father and by this point is too late to back down.
** After getting tired of the Ditu Emperor's leadership getting them killed by the Evil dragon, the Dragon Slayer Alliance's member nations attempt to demote him without any sort of BetrayalInsurance, never mind that he has the strongest military and ambitions. Sure enough, [[spoiler:he slaughters them, commits genocide against all alien member nations, and mass enslaves all human member nations, dissolving TheAlliance into TheEmpire.]]
** Ditu views even their fellow humans as nothing but disposable resources, and yet multiple alien races are dumb enough to join the FantasticRacist Dragonslayer Alliance for profit. [[spoiler:As soon as the alliance's member countries outlive their usefulness, even the humans are mass enslaved, while the alien races are out right exterminated.]]
** A lot of Daxia citizens think that the Dragonslayer Alliance wouldn't hit civilians, despite the fact that their officials do so on a regular basis and openly brag about it.
* TranquilFury: Siyun is quite good at remaining calm even when he's about to kill you.
* TrulySingleParent: Gods are above gender. The Divine Weaving race reproduced via combat. Whenever one of them died, the dead god would enact GrandTheftMe on a suitable mortal to use as a host. In the process, their soul split in two, multiplying their race but also dividing their power, forcing both to work to reach wherever they were before.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Because no enemy so far has made the connection between Siyun and Dragon Empress, most people assume Siyun is nowhere near the level of an Earth Tier. That always proves to be a fatal mistake.
* UpperClassTwit: It seems most second gens, as in, children of Warlords and admirals, seem to be idiotic and arrogant to the point they think they can push around everyone just because of it. Siyun loves to bring them down a notch or two. The youngest Prince of Merak is a more good-natured version of this, being somewhat naive and initially hostile to Siyun at first while still ultimately wanting peace and to end injustices such as slavery.
* UrbanLegendLoveLife: Social media has made Siyun out to be a HaremSeeker who has his way with all 3000 of Beiyang's Angels. Later there are claims that he has his way with all of the female Shura slaves. These sorts of rumors seem to be the only part of Siyun's HeroWithBadPublicity status that really bothers him. He always reacts with a mix of fury and embarrassment.
* UnskilledButStrong: The Shura fought against humanity with nothing but their own bare hands and teeth and ferocity. They were so ludicrously strong that this was all they needed to put up a good fight against the combined military might of humanity. If their leader hadn't surrendered to avoid genocide, the Shura likely would have taken down all of humanity's armies with them. Siyun claims that things like technique are unnecessary for someone as strong and ferocious as Zhen Yuan.
* UnwittingPawn: Admiral Zhang thought he was putting out a rebellion that would allow him to replace Angels with Combat Puppets, not realizing he was only promoted so Siyun could kill him since he had upset the elders of the Core Alliance by trying to ruin their Angel manufacturing business.
* UriahGambit: Siyun wins victory after victory against the Dragonslayer Alliance, killing enemy official after enemy official and [[NextTierPowerUp ranking up]] his angel underlings. So why is the BigBad, the Ditu Emperor, still smiling? Well, for one, he views himself as the highest being in the universe, a being above even the gods. To him, his war with Siyun is nothing more than an idle game. For two, WeHaveReserves, he has no end of underlings where they came from. For three, during the era of the Dragonslayer Alliance, Siyun was killing off his rivals for power. Now, in the era of the Dragonslayer Empire, he is killing off underlings that have gotten too ambitious for their own good. As the son of the Dragonslayer Empire's top general tells his friends who are congratulating him, his father has nowhere left to go but down, so it is only a matter of time until the Ditu Emperor commits BetrayalByInaction. Sure enough, his father is killed in battle shortly after, with the Ditu Emperor clearly not caring.
* VillainsWantMercy:
** When Xiao Jinku is at the mercy of Siyun, he says he doesn't have to kill him. Siyun answers he does, and after a futile attempt to kill Siyun, the Lord of Kangjin ends up painting the side of the building.
** The heads of the Dragon Slayer Alliance actually beg the elders of Daxia to stop Siyun's new puppet from exterminating their fleet, even though they were trying to [[{{Hypocrite}} destroy one of Daxia's three fleets]] mere minutes earlier. The elders all understandably don't give a fuck and continue their Mahjong tournament while the Dragon Slayer's fleet is disintegrated to the last man.
** Rain Master Race tries to convince Siyun trying to assassinate him was NothingPersonal, only for Siyun to answer he made it ''[[ItsPersonal very personal]]'' when he declared he intended to kill his family and friends afterwards, right before getting rid of him.
* VirtueIsWeakness: All the antagonists to date love to proclaim how being law-abiding and peaceful makes you "weak and soft" while being lawless and violent, engaging in endless warmongering and killing makes you "strong" despite ''constantly'' losing any and every on-screen fight against people who can actually fight back.
* WaveMotionGun: Ding Yuan's true Iron Pagoda form comes with one, and armed with enough firepower is capable of annihilating an entire fleet ''by the thousands''.
* WeHaveBecomeComplacent: Daxia's Elders fear humanity has become complacent, which is why they made Siyun a Fleet Admiral to give humanity a kick in the rear. [[WorldsStrongestMan They chose wisely.]]
* WeHaveReserves: Evil Dragon wins the majority of his entanglements with the Dragonslayer Alliance. The member nations eventually get fed up with all their losses and attempt to turn on their leader, the Ditu Emperor, but he trivially annihilates them all and mass enslaves the survivors, forming the Dragonslayer Empire instead. Evil Dragon continues to win most of his entanglements with the Dragonslayer Empire as well and slaughters countless numbers of evil soldiets, but the Ditu Emperor has so many pawns that he has yet to care in the slightest.
* WhatIsEvil: The Qin family patriarch tries to absolve himself of his own villainy by clouding the waters on what is and is not morally acceptable, [[CrimeOfSelfDefense blaming Daxia for instigating the war by daring to defend themselves from his soldiers.]]
* WhenAllYouHaveIsAHammer: Copper Mouth's little brother is neither an Angel nor does he fight with a battle puppet. He uses a brick to attack his enemies with. In chapter 224, after he works with three others to beat up some guards, his brick is dripping blood off of it.
* WideEyedIdealist: Zu Zi is rather similar to Siyun, but completely blind to the harsh realities the fleets have to deal with, despite his stepmother's attempts to explain to him that things aren't nearly as glamorous as they're presented on livestreams.
* WorfHadTheFlu: The Three-Legged Crow Angels are still weakened from their fight at Immortal Cloud Planet, which allows several of Jukun's thugs and their battle puppets to defeat them. Luckily Xiao Pao ([[spoiler:Siyun's puppet made from Beiyang's cannons]]) was there as bodyguard.
* WorldOfActionGirls: Angel Gears can only be used by women, with Siyun as the only exception.
* WorldsMostBeautifulWoman: Social media seems to have dubbed the "Dragon Empress" this, much to Siyun's chagrin.
* WorldsStrongestMan: Heaven Tier are considered the strongest of all Angels, with the legendary Soul Tier as a mere myth. Siyun becomes the latter.
* WouldYouLikeToHearHowTheyDied: A CardCarryingVillain to the end, the defeated Man Eating Eagle taunts Xiao Lu by asking her if she'd like to hear about how he tortured her father to death. Siyun shuts him up by shoving Daxia's Sword of State right into his mouth.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Dragon Slayer Alliance has absolute ''zero'' tolerance for failure, even when they give impossible orders. Retreat, tactical or otherwise, unless it's under orders, is punishable by death, far more often than not.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness:
** Ditu's Emperor leaves Pleiades Dowager Empress to die at Beiyang's hands since she clearly has no idea how to lead the Dragon Slayer Alliance, is utterly defeated and completely refuses to accept defeat.
** When the Ditu Emperor [[spoiler:takes full control of the alliance to form TheEmpire, he massacres entire nations of former allies that he doesn't need anymore, turning their populations into fertilizer.]]
* YouWouldntShootMe: Most, if not all, the antagonists force Beyang fleet into a life or death struggle, and when they realize they're on the losing end, taunt that Beyang "wouldn't dare" to finish them off, for fear of backlash. They are all shocked and enraged when, yes, Beyang does indeed follow through on wiping the ones that antagonized them out.
