[[folder: Season One]]
[[AC:Chapter One]]
* All the moments between Gary and Mooncake, after the former gets past the initial shock of Mooncake crashing into his helmet.
** Mooncake himself. He's like the universe's deadliest puppy.
* Without knowing anything about what's going on other than that a bunch of people he doesn't know want to hurt Mooncake, Gary refuses to abandon his new friend.
-->'''HUE''': This is not our fight.
-->'''Gary''': Hue, we make it our fight. You're Infinity Guard. Your whole motto is to protect life!
-->'''HUE''': Is that life, Gary?
-->'''Gary''': Well if it isn't, then I'm a raging sack of walnuts! HUE, lightfold the ship!
* When trying to escape the asteroids, Gary refuses to leave Mooncake behind even if it means certain death. Mooncake saves him in return.

[[AC:Chapter Two]]
* Avocato gradually going from tolerating Gary's presence in an attempt to bargain with the Lord Commander for Little Cato's release from prison to genuinely offering to be his friend.

[[AC:Chapter Three]]
* Even after witnessing Mooncake's planet-destroying abilities for himself at the colosseum, Gary assures Mooncake sincerely that they'll still always be friends.

[[AC:Chapter Four]]
* Avocato and HUE absolutely refuse to leave Gary to die in episode 4, even if it means they'll likely be captured by the Infinity Guard. It's particularly effective coming from HUE. For all the abuse he heaped on Gary during his prison sentence, the AI really does care about him.
-->'''HUE:''' [[NoOneGetsLeftBehind I'm sorry, Quinn. We wait for Gary.]]
* [[ThePromise "Promise me you'll have your own adventures.]] [[MeaningfulEcho Bunches and bunches."]]

[[AC:Chapter Five]]
* Fresh off of learning that the Infinity Guard became corrupt under the Lord Commander's plan to activate Final Space, Quinn is shocked and despondent, and believes there to be no more good guys or anyone to fully trust, not even herself. Gary and co. are able to convince her otherwise, though. Really, Avocato sums up the moment best:
-->'''Avocato:''' We're the good guys now.

[[AC:Chapter Six]]
* For all his goofiness during his tenure as "captain," Gary is nothing if not genuine in taking both of his friends' points into consideration: He hasn't forgotten the promise he made to Avocato to help rescue his son, but also recognizes Quinn's point about how much more lives in the universe could be lost in the rift's opening, and how much he broke her trust in him (made especially apparent in the last video message he sends her after arriving on Zetakron Prime).
* HUE convincing Quinn not to abandon ship in episode 6 by showing her all of the hundreds of video messages Gary made for her everyday during his prison sentence. It's enough to convince Quinn to stick around and meet back up with Gary, Avocato and Little Cato.
* Avocato getting through to his possessed son and freeing him from the Lord Commander's control with a CoolDownHug.
-->'''Avocato:''' I've been a terrible father. The Lord Commander ruined me, and I lost you. Don't let him ruin you!
-->'''Little Cato:''' What if it's too late?
-->'''Avocato:''' It's not. ''You're still right here.''
** Towards the end of the confrontation, Little Cato is able to fight off his mind control briefly enough to recognize his father ''before'' he's freed. He's also genuinely relieved and happy to reunite with Avo, though he can't resist letting him off without [[AngerBornOfWorry one more punch to the face.]]

[[AC:Chapter Seven]]
* HUE admits in this episode that Gary was the only real friend he has had and that he feels as though his "life" would be meaningless without him as Gary's prison sentence had ended.
* Usually, in other shows where [[RevengeBeforeReason revenge negatively affects a character's judgement]], in the case of Final Space, it's used to develop the bond between Gary and Little Cato rather than create a conflict. After three days of Little Cato avoiding everyone, he and Gary bond through remembering Avocato.
** Misguided though his reasoning might have been at the time, it's really sweet to see that Avocato's devotion to Little Cato ''definitely'' wasn't one-sided-- in fact, the latter clearly loved him right back WartsAndAll, enough to attempt to pilot Nightfall's time-traveling ship to rescue Avocato in return.

[[AC:Chapter Eight]]
* With two minutes of air left, Gary asks HUE to change the countdown to something more comforting. The latter obliges, and makes it a cookie timer.
* Gary and Past!John's interactions with each other, once they get past hostilities. Doubles as a CMOF when they bond further over jumping and beating up a time-frozen pre-Lord Commander (who used to be called Jack), and later triples as a TearJerker when Gary realizes he's in a closed time-loop, thus can't do anything about preventing Past!John's HeroicSacrifice.
** The last exchange Gary has with his father as an adult, which also doubles as a TearJerker.
-->'''John:''' [[ThePromise Make me a promise, son?]] Save Earth. Nah, you're right-- ''universe'' is much cooler.
-->'''Gary:''' What if I can't [save the universe]?
-->'''John:''' Just try your best.
-->'''Gary:''' What if my best isn't good enough?
-->'''John:''' [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre It's good enough for me.]]
* After Gary returns from the time-loop, Quinn and Little Cato lie down with him in a breather moment.

[[AC:Chapter Nine]]
* With a minute left of oxygen, HUE assures Gary that he would be remaining with him until the bitter end. Talk about UndyingLoyalty.
* When HUE brings up the video log of John leaving the anti-matter bomb at New York City's Infinity Guard outpost, Little Cato immediately puts a reassuring paw on Gary's shoulder.
* Quinn and Gary's brief first date at the bar they met at.
* After Quinn [[TakingTheBullet saves Gary from getting crushed by the hideout's debris]] and gets knocked unconscious, what does Gary do? Hand off the bomb to Little Cato and Tribore and immediately head down after her, reinforcing that [[NoOneGetsLeftBehind no one on his crew will be abandoned to die.]] In a subversion of his SpockSpeak, HUE even encourages him to keep going. Doubles as a moment of awesome.
-->'''HUE:''' Gary, there is a zero percent chance you can make it to Quinn's position before the pressure increase of Earth's core kills her. [[NeverTellMeTheOdds Knowing you will not listen...]] ''hurry.''

[[AC:Chapter Ten]]
* When discussing who will back Quinn up to get her to the breach, Little Cato immediately volunteers. Three of the SAMES also decide to watch Little Cato's back, and one is even quick to apologize for accidentally and [[NotInFrontOfTheKid casually bringing up Avocato's loss.]]
* Though Gary is very understandably concerned for Quinn's safety, he ultimately supports her choice to let her finish what she started with her investigation of the time-space breach. She gives him a BigDamnKiss in return, and wishes him luck with captaining the assault. For only a matter of days of re-adjusting to each other after episode 4, it's pretty awesome to see how much Gary and Quinn's relationship progressed.
* Mooncake shows genuine concern and horror at KVN's death, and attempts to get his body out of the shield room even though it gets him captured by the Lord Commander.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Season Two]]

[[AC:The Toro Regatta]]
* HUE being overjoyed at Gary being alive and eagerly hugging him with his new body
** Gary being equally overjoyed by seeing HUE still functional after having feared he had been destroyed along with the rest crew
--->'''HUE:''' I missed you so much
* Gary and Little Cato's reunion at Clarence's planet. [[EmoTeen Little Cato]] literally cries from joy while throwing himself into Gary's arm
---> '''Gary:''' My little spider cat...
* KVN hugging Gary, with KVN mentioning how he only managed to rebuild himself through concern of his safety. Of course, [[SitcomArchnemesis Gary on the other hand...]]

[[AC:The Happy Place]]
* When Gary is feeling low due to his guilt over failing to save both Quinn and the Earth, the rest of the team squad, led by Little Cato and Nightfall, reassure him that he’s not to blame and are still on his side.
** Nightfall, of all people, asks Gary what he saw in his happy place. Despite her serious demeanor, she’s encouraging some relief for Gary.

[[AC:The Grand Surrender]]
* Little Cato comforting Ash.

[[AC:The Other Side]]
* For awhile, almost everyone having a little dance party and enjoying the music of Kenny Loggins.

[[AC:The Arachnitects]]
* Besides being hilarious, there's something bizarrely sweet about the scene where Gary, upset that he missed a chance to rescue Mooncake, starts [[PunchAWall punching a wall]] in frustration, only for the rest of the crew to join in.
-->'''KVN:''' Take that, wall! You've been cruisin' for a bruisin'!
-->'''Fox:''' Stupid wall!!!

[[AC:The Remembered]]
* How does Little Cato get Avocato from the past to recognize that he's the real deal from the future? By flashing the [[BishieSparkle "eyebrows of everything."]] It's as goofy and funny as it is wholesome and sweet.
* Shortly after, despite the bad blood between their kinds, Fox gently lays an unconscious Past!Little Cato down to sleep.

[[AC:The Lost Spy]]
* Gary offers to adopt Little Cato as his own until they got his biological father back from Invictus. This even leads to the gang Little Cato joined to call off their attempts at killing him having been touched by the offer.

[[AC:The Set Up]]
* During the Carnivolo dinner, Ash praises Gary for his warm heartedness. And before that, she starts to praise Nightfall (before Clarence cuts her off). Ash now refers to them as "family".
** KVN praising Mooncake, and Fox praising KVN count as well.
* When Fox catches Clarence stealing the dimensional keys, he pleads to his adopted father "Gary needs those to save Quinn!", and then tries to hold Clarence at gunpoint to get him to drop them. This truly shows how loyal Fox has become to Gary and the others, showing how far he has come since the start of the season.
* KVN sacrificing the part that is use to keep him sane to save Fox's life.

[[AC:The Descent Into Darkness]]
* Despite the way she mistreated him, Gary nevertheless saves Sheryl from the destruction of the planet.
** "She's my mom."

[[AC:The Sixth Key]]
* Sheryl realizing the errors of her ways and pulling a genuine HeelFaceTurn, joining the Team Squad in order to spend more time with her son.
** After said HeelFaceTurn, she starts calling Gary [[AffectionateNickname "Love" and "Sweetheart"]]. And Gary doesn't resent her for all the trauma she put him through: he's just happy to have his mom back.
* Thanks to Ash blasting him with her powers, Invictus is forced to let go of Avocato, which means that the latter is ''finally'' back for good! He and Gary celebrate with a Clasp to end all clasps, directly [[ShoutOut referencing]] [[Film/{{Predator}} the famous handshake between Dutch and Dillon]].
* Also doubling as a [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments funny moment]], when Gary asks Little Cato to fix the lightfold engines, Little Cato addresses how happy he has his real dad and his [[ParentalSubstitute substitute dad]] at his side.
* When the Aracnitects open the portal to Final Space, they also inform Bolo and the Crimson Light crew that they will be sealed inside. Realizing the risks, Gary looks to his teammates who, without a single word, look back to him with expressions that say "We've come this far. Let's do this!" By this point, they truly have become more than a team.
* Upon entering Final Space, the heroes are shocked by the hundreds of dead Garys, but our Gary only has eyes for one person: Quinn. Defying the odds of the multiverse, Gary reaches out to her, and she takes his hand.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Season Three]]
[[AC:...And Into The Fire]]
* Gary and Avocato's "bond" moment when they're separated by rubble. While hilarious due to how over-the-top and dripping with HoYay it is, it also goes to show just how close they are and how strong their friendship is. And while such a display isn't surprising coming from [[CloudCuckooLander Gary]], the fact that [[StraightMan Avocato]] does the ''exact same thing'' on his side further reinforces how genuine and mutual their bromance is.
[[AC:The Hidden Light]]
* Bolo's interaction with Mooncake when they forge the Titanslayer. A creature large enough to carry a star in it's pocket calling someone "homeslice" is oddly endearing.
* Also Biskit who is a fan of Gary and Quinn. When he first meets Quinn he says that Quinn is more beautiful in real life. Quinn smiles and says that Biskit gets to live.
** The face Quinn makes at that moment : it's obvious that she really appreciates the compliment.

[[AC:The Ventrexian]]
* Bittersweet as it is considering the blood on his hands and the start of a lifelong lie, Avocato swears on his life to protect the orphaned Little Cato as repentance, no matter the Lord Commander's will.
* Fox having a laugh at Avocato spitting in the Lord Commander's face. Keep in mind, Fox is a Tryvuulian, AKA the race Ventrexians had been waging a ''millenia-long war'' against. One could expect him to hope for the Lord Commander to punish Avocato with extreme prejudice for such an insult, especially considering that Avocato was Ventrexia's fiercest warrior (and thus responsible for an untold amount of Tryvuulian casualties), but no. Despite the massive beef between their two species, Fox just enjoyed seeing the [[JerkAss Lord Commander]] getting brought down a peg ''that much''.
* We get to see more of the ''[[CoolShip Galaxy II]]'''s interior, and it includes things such as a huge luxury bedroom and a cookie machine. Now, keep in mind that this ship was built at Nightfall's request, meaning ''she'' most likely asked for the ship to have those things : the bedroom so Gary and Quinn could share it, and the cookie machine because she knows Gary loves cookies. Main Timeline!Gary may not be "her" Gary, but she truly cared about him nonetheless and genuinely wanted him and Quinn to be happy together.

[[AC:One Of Us]]
* Quinn keeping her condition a secret from Gary results in the latter getting worried that he has "lost his touch" due to her becoming more distant. As a result, he decides to bounce theories with Mooncake, who calms his fears by assuring that Gary ''does'' "excite". It does wonders to cheer Gary up and give him back some much-needed self-confidence, after which he gleefully hugs Mooncake and share a fist-bump with him.
-->'''Gary:''' Oh, my! I ask for the slice and you give me the whole dang pie!... You have no idea how much I needed that!
** Later on, Quinn tells Gary that he ''never'' "lost it" in the first place.
* Sheryl escaping and making it back to the Galaxy II after Gary gets her transmission. While the moment is treated as awkward and comedic because they keep trying to figure out whether they should hug or high-five, the fact that they are both happy to see each other proves that, despite everything Sheryl has done, Gary truly forgave her and she genuinely wants to reconnect with her son.
* Little Cato and Fox sharing a laugh at the Lord Commander's expense, without any of the usual [[VitriolicBestBuds vitriol]] their interactions usually have.

[[AC:All the Moments Lost]]
* Quinn assures Ash that they're not abandoning Fox, they're surviving so that they ''can'' save him.
* Gary desperately calls out for Quinn as she's hallucinating about her sister that she lost. He doesn't know anything about her, how she died, or even what Quinn is seeing. But he can clearly see that she's important to her.
-->'''Gary''': Listen to me. You gotta let her go. And when you do, I promise she'll-you'll see that she never left you. She couldn't if she tried, she's a part of you! Quinn, if I...if I lose you, her memory dies with you. I wanna hear about her, I do. I-I wanna know who she was. You keep her with you, and we move on together!

[[AC:Change is Gonna Come]]
* At the beginning of the episode, Gary is so worried about Quinn's condition that he doesn't even resist when [[SitcomArchNemesis KVN]] comes to give him a hug. Hell, Gary even ''smiles'' when KVN hugs him. This alone speaks ''volumes'' about how much Gary needed some comfort at that moment.
** This bears repeating: [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness Gary.]] ''[[OOCIsSeriousBusiness Smiled.]]'' [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness When KVN hugged him]].
* In order to survive her Final Space poisoning, Quinn has to undergo surgery to receive a cranial implant just like the one Nightfall had. However, her body is so weakened that she can't be sedated, and the pain alone could kill her anyway. HUE mentions that a viable solution to prevent her death would be to fuse her pain receptors to Gary's in order to lessen the strain put on her body. Gary consents to it with no hesitation, and even though it immediately takes a massive toll on him and puts him in excruciating pain, he keeps insisting that HUE keeps diverting more and more of Quinn's pain to him, because he knows she would do the same for him.
** When the strain from the experience causes Gary to go into cardiac arrest, Avocato ''immediately'' grabs a pair of defibrillators and revives Gary before he even has a chance to lose consciousness.
** After Quinn wakes up, an exhausted but relieved Gary greets her with a warm smile, and asks her to tell him about her sister.

[[AC:The Chamber Of Doubt]]
* Hue notices how broken Gary is following the death of Fox and tries to cheer him up by offering him a cookie from the dispenser. While Gary refuses it and even proceeds to violently smash the machine in a fit of grief-fueled rage, the gesture itself was very sweet, especially when one remembers how HUE used to mercilessly tease Gary about cookies back when the latter was still a prisoner on the Galaxy One. HUE offering Gary a cookie not to reward him, but to ''comfort him'', definitely shows how far they've come since Season 1.

[[AC:Forgiveness]]
* While it leads to a huge TearJerker, the fact that Avocato confesses to Gary that he murdered the King and Queen of Ventrexia and adopted their child as his own speaks ''volumes'' about how much he trusts Gary.
* Ash's time with Evra, more than being a cute sequence of ShipTease (with special mention to how her face positively lights up when the latter shifts into a cute humanoid form followed by the two just sitting and beholding the "Hidden Lights"), is a welcome, emotionally-healing breath of fresh air that, while not completely absolving her of her own trauma, puts her in a better enough mood to carry on and return to the Team Squad. All this is wonderfully capped off with the sight of Mooncake arriving to lay Fox to rest among the Hidden Lights (and adorably nudging Ash's cheek in excitement and relief that she's doing alright), putting his soul at peace.
-->'''Evra''': Whoa...what was that?\
'''Ash''': My brother, Fox.\
'''Evra''': Is he okay?\
'''Ash''': ...Yeah. He is now.
* The aftermath of Gary and Avocato's big fight is both this and a massive TearJerker. While seeing them brutally fighting eachother was painful to watch, their friendship only got stronger and they're now closer than ever.
--> '''Avocato''': I didn't mean what I said about you murdering Fox. And I'm one lucky guy to have you as a friend!
* Gary's speech to Avocato following their fight makes it obvious how much Gary loved and admired his father, and how much he cares about Little Cato as well.
* Gary telling Little Cato he loves him.
-->'''Little Cato:''' You good? Looks like you got into a fight. And lost, like, four times.\
'''Gary:''' Heheh. Yeah. I'm good. ''(Little Cato puts a hand on Gary's arm for a moment, smiling, then starts walking away)'' Hey, uh... ''(catches Little Cato, puts hands on his shoulders)'' I love you, kid.\
'''Little Cato:''' ''(laughs a little awkwardly, but looks touched)'' What's that for?\
'''Gary:''' I just, uh, just wanted you to know that. ''(walks away; Little Cato looks after him, smiling)''
* Little Cato gives a brief speech before Fox's coffin is cast into Final Space admitting that while they had their differences, he was grateful for the time he had with him and openly states that he misses him.
* Although Ash doesn't explicitly wholly forgive Gary just yet, she returns in a better enough headspace that she's willing to at least buckle down and enthusiastically reminisce about Fox with him at his request. Gary, in turn, is clearly excited to hear her stories and happy that they're at least on polite speaking terms.
** Just like when he wanted to hear about Avery, or when he told Little Cato things about his dad when he had been dead, Gary wants to honor the people lost by making sure they're remembered. He doesn't ask Ash to forgive him, he only asks to know more about her brother.

[[AC:Hyper-Transdimensional Bridge Rising]]
* Following the events of ''Forgiveness'', Ash seems to be back on good terms with Gary and shows no animosity towards him throughout the episode, even when he insults her adoptive father (though Gary ''does'' have a solid point in not trusting Clarence and being angry at him).
* Clarence's reaction to Ash's message. For all the selfish scumbag he was in the previous two seasons, he honestly regrets his actions and is genuinely saddened upon learning that Fox has died. And despite Gary's doubts, he ''does'' accomplish his mission and activates the other end of Van Newton's dimensional bridge, at the cost of his own life. He spends his final moments fondly looking at an old picture of him with Ash and Fox.
** Cutting back to the Team Squad, Clarence's efforts certainly don't go unnoticed, with Gary being pleasantly surprised and Ash giving an [[TearsOfJoy earnest, tearful smile]] at her adoptive father making good on the task laid out for him and [[HiddenHeartOfGold proving that yes, he does have a conscience after all.]]
* Even if it's kind of a MoodWhiplash in its execution, Fraskenhaur is genuinely saddened by Clarence's death and craddles his dead body in his arms while letting out a SkywardScream.

[[AC:Until the Sky Falls]]
* Sheryl's motivation for staying in Final Space with the rest of the Team Squad: she's not staying in order to keep looking for John, she's staying because she wants to make sure she doesn't lose her son too.
** Related to the above, Gary and Sheryl sharing a big hug.
* Once Gary and Quinn turn on the relay in Wisconsin, Kevin pulls Ash into a big ol' much-needed hug. Later on, while distraught at leaving Kevin to give his life to turn on the KVN Net, she and Mooncake get to excitedly behold the device go live (SuddenDownerEnding notwithstanding).

[[AC:The Dead Speak]]
* Quinn comforting the last zombie Gary in his final moments after Ash blasts Invictus out of him.

[[AC:The Leaving]]
* Gary referring to [[ActionMom Sheryl]] as Little Cato's grandma.
** At first, Sheryl doesn't like being called a "grandmom". However, when Ash decides to leave the ship and take Little Cato with her, Sheryl's reaction is to pick up a heavy assault rifle, stating that nobody is going to hurt "her grandson".
--> '''Sheryl''': ''No one''. Is taking ''my'' grandson!
* While Ash betraying the crew and kidnapping Little Cato is a massive TearJerker, it's motivated by a desire to protect Little Cato and keep him safe, [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe because he was always kind to her]].
* Gary helping Avocato out of his HeroicBSOD following Ash's kidnapping of Little Cato.
--> '''Gary''': I told you at one point all of us are broken. It's just a question of how much and how far we're willing to go to fix it. Well... How far are ''you'' willing to go?"
--> '''Avocato''': ''All the way''.
--> '''Gary''': Let's go get ''our son'' back.

[[AC:The Devil's Den]]
* The whole scene is mainly dramatic and focused on Little Cato, but if you pay attention, there's one detail that sticks out: Gary and Avocato don't try to pull an IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight with Ash. Avocato doesn't, for obvious reasons, but Gary? He could have made a futile attempt to fight her/ help her fight off Invictus' influence, or tried to talk her back (even by trying to reiterate that [[spoiler:he was tricked into killing Fox]]). But he doesn't. He knows that he has irrefutable responsibility for her FaceHeelTurn, and that she on some level would not be talked out of her choice to side with Invictus.
--> '''Gary:''' Ash?
--> '''Ash:''' ''What?!''
--> '''Gary:''' I'm sorry we failed you.
** If you listen closely, Ash let out a small gasps of surprised and a bit of doubt. It shows that she’s not truly gone.
