!Major Humans

[[folder:A]]
!! A ([[AffectionateNickname "A-Chan"]], [[Anime/ProjectAKo A-Ko]], [[Film/EasyA Emma Stone]], Slash, Camila, [[FullNameBasis Camila A. Slash]], Anarchy-Chan, Ana, etc.)
-> '''[[http://i.imgur.com/pgfsUVq.png A:]]''' [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal Alas! My attention has been appropriated by an amalgamation of arguing articulations. These annoying antagonists are agents of an almighty and absolute being, and aspire to adopt me as their antihero. My aim - assuredly, as an act of arrogance - is to award their amoral absurdity with arousing their antithesis of anarchy, accord. The only answer is ATTACK! An acute assault, with such accuracy as to absolve my awareness and acquit me of their aggression. Admittedly, this alliteration is far too abverbial, so let me simply add that, actually, it’s authentically a good honor to meet you, and you may call me... A.]]
->'''Mr. T:''' [[CrazyIsCool Are you, like, a crazy person?]]
->'''A:''' [[Film/VForVendetta I am quite sure they will say so.]]

The Mob's latest host. After 3 failed attempts, they finally settled on a girl named A.

* AbusiveParents: Her mom sees her as a means to an end to set the upstairs clock, and won't let her leave until she does.
* AchillesHeel: Double battles and poison.
* AffectionateNickname: The mob calls her A-chan for short. Or for long...
* AlphabeticalThemeNaming: With Brendan. A and B.
* AmbiguouslyBi: While A might hold a candle for Steven Stone or Brendan, she also seems appreciative of the attention she gets from ladies, especially Aroma Lady Shayla and Cooltrainer Brooke.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: For the Mob. They have been perpetually screaming for Anarchy since the first ''Twitch Plays Pokemon''. Camila A. Slash is an Avatar of pure Anarchy to the point that she repeatedly refuses to obey the voices, corrupts the stream and its music and even deliberately chose the one starter none of the voices asked for.
** Since the debate over A's personality started, this has emerged as one of the common theories as to why A does what she does. We wanted an avatar of pure Anarchy, and we got one.
* BelligerentSexualTension[=/=][[DatingCatwoman Dating Batman]]: Possibly her relationship with Mr. T. It's hard to confirm, seeing how seldom they cross paths. Later portrayals of the pair seem to consistently insist that they got together, and (due to the [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonOmegaRuby the]] multitude [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonalphaSapphire of]] Hoenn [[Characters/TwitchPlaysPokemon runs]]) [[BabiesEverAfter started a family]].
** BrotherSisterIncest[=/=]VillainousIncest: If Mr. T is her [[BodySurf Body Surfing]] dead brother.
* BornUnlucky: ''Everything'' that could go wrong, both in battle and outside, has happened to her. She's perpetually broke, has lost several useful moves and her starter, and Wattson's paralysis tactics always work at the worst times.
** She encountered a Shiny Chinchou without any Poké Balls, forcing Hariyama to kill it.
* CannotTalkToWomen: Gender-inverted. It's taken our heroine more than an hour just to gather up the strength to go talk to the boy next door.
* ChaosIsEvil: Zig-zagged. Depending on the exact interpretation of her free-spirited nature, her level of malice is [[AxCrazy all over the place.]]
* CloudCuckooLander: Even if she wasn't crazy, she still wouldn't be all quite there.
* CompositeCharacter: Some of the Mob members believe that A, Slash and Camilla have combined into a single character.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: To [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonRed Red]]. He was an innocent kid who was manipulated by the voices, much to his torment and AJ who eventually resolved to destroy the voices, A both embraces and ignores them according to her own whim. She could have [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou finally turned the tables on them]].
** And seems to not care about being a Master or God, due taking the triple the time to get the first badge than Red and AJ did.
* CrazyCatLady: The dog equivalent. She really likes Poochyena, and is crazy. And they just keep coming. She has no less than 6 of them in the PC plus one in the party.
* DaddysGirl: After accidentally depositing her whole team save for Marill, A promptly ran back to Petalburg city and tried to find help with her father. Her father also advised her on how to rid herself of the voices: collecting badges.
* {{Determinator}}: Challenged the Elite Four a grand total of '''''102 times'''''. Can't say the girl isn't persistent.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The prime example thus far in WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemon. While Red and AJ had consistent portrayals, fan artists tend to portray A however they want. Her origin story made her a HeroicComedicSociopath but now that's all but mostly ignored in favor of being an unpredictably aloof girl who is emotionally attached to her Pokemon.
* EnfantTerrible: She has been unhinged [[{{VideoGame/Petz}} for quite a while]], [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/211wd1/after_starving_her_two_dogs_to_death_a_young_girl/ apparently]].
* EvenBadWomenLoveTheirMamas: Cares for her mother despite her obvious problems.
* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Got the attention of Aroma Lady Shayla and Cooltrainer Brooke, the latter of which asked for an engagement within ''seconds'' of seeing A, after a string of somewhat-suggestive dialogue from other female trainers in the area.
* FullNameBasis: Referred to as "Camilla A. Slash" by those who believe that she is a composite character, or for those who just generally blend together all of her initial names.
* TheGadfly: A seems happy to deposit Pokémon that the voices need and resist getting them back, for no reason other than to mess with everyone as best she can.
** When The Mob was expecting her to reenact Bloody Sunday on its one month anniversary, she instead turned it around on them and rather than being violent as usual enacted Lovely Sunday where she tried to play with all her Pokémon.
*** Then A goes and releases Zexy because she knew the Mob would be expecting her to rely on it to help her on her journey.
* GreenThumb: A has caught 28 Oddish total, making her a gardener.
* HearingVoices: As necessary for all TPP protagonists, [[AxCrazy but A's a unique case.]] - while AJ and Red were tortured by them, A seems to be enjoying her situation - she is the one tormenting the Mob, not the other way around.
* HeelFaceTurn: ''Maybe''. The incidents of [[PetTheDog Lovely Sunday]] have been interpreted by some as a reason to mark her as an anarchist AntiHero instead of a murderous psycho. Others just chalk it up to EvenEvilHasLovedOnes, though.
* HeroesGoneFishing: A just loves catching some fish. Even at the most [[SkewedPriorities at]] the [[ApocalypseHow most]] inappropriate [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt times]].
* HeroesLoveDogs: Poochyena's specifically. The Wolf Pack has been at least 5 dogs strong.
* HeroicSacrifice: In one version she sacrifices herself to send the voices back in time to defeat Bill. As shown in this Comic [[http://i.imgur.com/HK1MMqP.png]]
* IHaveManyNames: Just see the list above. And more besides, but we had to keep the list short. "Camila A. Slash" and variations thereof seem to be a somewhat accepted name.
* ImprobableAge: She's just a kid, but according to the latest lore also part of a police force.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Commonly believed to have summoned the voices.
* KidHero: [[EnfantTerrible Maybe not hero]], but a kid nonetheless.
* KleptomaniacHero: In her second battle after acquiring Poké Balls, she tries to steal the opposing trainer's Tailow.
* LethalChef: Much like May in the anime, A makes ''lethal'' Pokéblocks. She created level 10 and 11 Pokéblocks with 19-23 feel (how hard the block is). Lower numbers are better in both categories, and before her it was thought that the worst you could get was level ''9'' pokeblocks. A's cooking ''redefined'' how bad pokeblocks could get for the entire fandom. She would probably be better off feeding her pokemon literal rocks.
** SupremeChef: Paradoxically, the way how blending is rated[[labelnote:note]]Misses, of which A literally has hundreds, are ignored. She otherwise has hundreds of perfect hits.[[/labelnote]], she's also the best blender at any given attempt.
* MadLibsCatchPhrase: CAMILLA A. SLASH THE [insert title here]
* MakingASplash: As of the seventh gym, half her team is Water type.
* MysteriousMiddleInitial: The A. It's the only part of her name she gives to strangers, but nobody's sure what it might stand for. The Mob believes that "A" either stands for "Anarchy" or is actually not her name at all - it's simply how people hear "May" with a silent "M".
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Name of one of her alledged alternate personalities is "Slash".
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Favorite pastime? Bursting into people's homes and observing every single piece of furniture. [[NPCAmnesia Not that the NPCs can actually stop her.]]
* OneLetterName: A.
** MeaningfulName: One of A's nicknames suggests that she came [[BigScrewedUpFamily from a family named "Slash."]]
* PetTheDog: While she was still in "possible murderer" phase, the Mob expected she'd release much of her 'mon on the anniversary of Bloody Sunday, especially since [[TemptingFate she kept accessing the PC on that day]]. Surprisingly, though, she ended up not releasing anyone and her constant switching of her party was thus been interpreted by some as wanting to spend time with ''all'' her 'mon. Others just considered it another example of A disobeying the Mob, adding to the belief she represents pure Anarchy.
** For what it's worth, she ''did'' release the most useful 'mon in the party not long ''after'' Lovely Sunday. Although it may not be [[SoulJar entirely]] dead...
* PowerBornOfMadness: Some of her portrayals make her seem the one that has resisted the voices the most, and has seen less damage from them than any other protagonists. These portrayals also tend to be the ones that place her as ''completely'' insane to begin with, be it [[AxCrazy violently]] or [[CloudCuckoolander otherwise]].
* SeenItAll: As a TPP player character, A qualifies. Best seen during the late-game events involving the main legendary Pokemon: Groudon and Kyogre have both awakened, [[ApocalypseHow and the clashing of their respective weather types threatens to wreak havoc on the land]]. A goes to Sootopolis, the location of their duel, Surfs right up to them, [[http://imgur.com/a3w668X and spends quite some time fishing]].
* SplitPersonality: One interpretation is that her erratic behavior is caused by three distinct personalities coexisting in her. A is adventurous and has NoSenseOfDirection, Camilla is [[ShrinkingViolet gentle, shy and sensitive]], and Slash is an AxCrazy SerialKiller. As per EarlyInstallmentWeirdness above, the A side has become dominant, the 'Camilla' personality is mostly seen during releases and 'Slash' has been forgotten.
** Slasha:
*** AxCrazy: Slasha, the meta lore is pointing to this, going so far as to say she's using the influence of the voices to ''[[OhCrap destabilize the entire region.]]''
*** SerialKiller: May be responsible for the deaths of two childhood dogs, seven siblings, and five Pokémon - although several of those came after the A personality became dominant, so perhaps they were genuine accidents and A's just really unlucky...
*** VillainProtagonist: Contrasting [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonRed Red]] the IdealHero and [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonCrystal AJ]] the AntiHero.
** Camilla:
*** TheCutie: Assumed to be the girl from the {{VideoGame/Petz}} games during the interlude.
*** BreakTheCutie: See above, considering the mob's actions.
* TheOphelia: Despite being cheerful and a true friend to her pokemon, she is every flavour of nuts. It may or may not have started with her being possessed by the Voices.
* TheStoner: Some members of the Mob think her ridiculous (28 and counting!) number of [[GRatedDrug Oddish]] is a sign that she is this.
* TheUnchosenOne: Some interpretations say that A deliberately killed all of her predecessors that were originally possessed by the Mob, so that she would receive their favor instead.
* TooSpicyForYogSothoth: She's the first protagonist who isn't tormented by the voices. In fact, the voices are terrified of ''her''. Also applies out-of-verse, as many people have voiced concerns about A's darker personality and proposed changes to soften her up.
* WillingChanneler: In contrast to Red and AJ, A JumpedAtTheCall when the voices came for her.
** EvilIsNotAToy: [[http://imgur.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/d69g8BP May be regretting it now]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Brendan "T" Birch]]
!! Brendan T. Birch (Mr. T)
A's next door neighbour and rival. Son of Professor Birch. According to some in the Mob, he is actually [[BackFromTheDead Mr. T]].

* AlphabeticalThemeNaming: The "B" to A's, well, A.
* BabiesEverAfter: Sometimes thought to have had children with A after the events of ''Emerald''.
* BigDamnHeroes: [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22ki40/what_happened_to_bills_master_plan/ Replaced the clock in Bill's lab.]]
* CompositeCharacter: Said to be a combination of NPC Brendan from the [[VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire original game]] and Mr. T.
* CutenessProximity: He was once seen exiting a store with a ridiculously adorable Swablu toy. Trying to look cool, [[UnmanlySecret he tells A not to tell anybody she saw him with it]].
* FriendlyRivalry: One of the nicer rivals of this series.
* FullNameBasis: Generally referred to by his full name (including the T) when people want to distinguish this portrayal from other versions of Brendan.
* HenpeckedHusband: He's clearly not wearing the pants in his relationship with A.
* HeroOfAnotherStory
* MakingASplash: Since A picked Torchic, he has a Mudkip.
* MissedTheCall: Mr. T was one of the characters the Mob controlled, then lost to a soft reset.
* MysteriousMiddleInitial: Because Mr. T is said to reside within him, some have speculated Brendan's name to be Brendan T. Birch as a tribute to him.
** According to the TPP Fame Checker, it stands for Tureaud, [[EmbarrassingMiddleName but he gets angry when people call him that.]]
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gave one to A in one of the lore pieces because of her havoc wreaking streak.
--> ''Damnit, A! You can't just do what you w'''A'''nt all the time.''
* OppositesAttract: More focused, generally ''not'' as anarchy hungry, and pretty considerate compared to the brash, chaos loving A.
* {{Revenge}}: Those who believe Brendan is Mr. T also believe he wants [[http://i.imgur.com/kTHYdPI.png revenge]] [[http://31.media.tumblr.com/41ae8f5d15c5f4fba1ec8ea3d702eb79/tumblr_n2tl1agH731r2cnpko1_1280.png for being killed]].

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gym Leaders]]
!!Tropes applied to all:
* CombatPragmatist: The Hoenn Gym Leaders are more than happy to bring out the healing items when their star Pokémon are getting low on health.
* TookALevelInBadass: Compared to the Gym Leaders in the previous generations. Gone (mostly) are ArtificialStupidity and the AIRoulette, instead replaced with trainers who are capable of using status-affecting moves in the appropriate situations and selecting the most effective attacks against Pokémon the player sends out.
** Also applicable in-game, as the player is able to engage in rematches with the Gym Leaders, whereupon they gain tougher, higher-leveled Pokémon.

!!Roxanne
The first Gym Leader in Hoenn, Roxanne follows Brock's example of using Rock-type Pokémon. She has two Geodudes and a Nosepass in Emerald version.

* CurbStompBattle: Unlike Falkner, Roxanne delivered an immense beatdown to the Mob despite their over-leveled starter.
* EarlyGameHell: As is usual for early Rock-type Gyms when a Fire-type starter Pokémon is picked.
* TheDreaded: Quickly became this, inflicting multiple defeats on the Mob due to a combination of her type advantage over Zexy and the fact that Rock Tomb's debuff effect neutralizes Zexy's speed advantage.
* WakeUpCallBoss: After taking 9 hours to beat her, it's really sunk in how challenging ''Emerald'' is going to be.

!!Brawly
The second Gym Leader in Hoenn, he effects a surfer-dude persona and leads the Gym of the secluded Dewford Town, relying on Fighting-type Pokémon.

* SurferDude

!!Wattson
The third Gym Leader in Hoenn and head of the electric Mauville Gym, Wattson follows Lt. Surge's example of using Electric-type Pokemon. He has a Voltorb, a Magneton, an Electrike, and a Manetric in ''Emerald'' version.

* AlwaysAccurateAttack: Three out of Wattson's four Pokemon know Shock Wave, which is an electric attack that never misses[[hottip:*: Barring the effects of certain moves like Dig]].
* ArchEnemy: To A. It took more then twenty attempts to beat him, it was during his gym that Zexy was released and he's always there to laugh at A's misery. There are many, many players who want to return to Mauville after the Elite Four just to beat him again. [[labelnote:note]][[EvilLaugh Wahahahahahaha!]][[/labelnote]]
* BossRush: Since every Mon of his team had the potential of dealing an absurd amount of damage to A's team, each and every single one qualifies as a BossInMookClothing.
* FantasticMeasurementSystem: A "Wattson", which totals to twenty-three attempts.
* FixedDamageAttack: Sonicboom, which always does exactly 20 damage. At that point in the game, that can mean losing anywhere from a third to a half of a Pokemon's HP.
* LuckBasedMission: The party has often failed at a critical moment thanks to paralysis and/or confusion, which can completely stop a Pokemon from acting. Woe betide anyone who gets inflicted with ''both'' statuses...
* NoFourthWall: In a way, the [[http://www.reddit.com/user/VillainousWattson VillainousWattson]] account on Website/{{Reddit}} during the ''Emerald'' stream, who constantly loves to find hilarity in A's many lamentations.
* NoOSHACompliance: After Mauville City got flooded by Kyogre, Wattson temporarily turned his gym into a community pool. Said pool still has their electric gates intact.
* TheParalyzer: All of his Pokémon carry some way to inflict paralysis.
* ShockAndAwe: He employs Electric-type Pokémon in his arsenal.
* StatusInflictionAttack: His Magneton can also inflict confusion with Supersonic.

!!Flannery
The fourth Gym Leader of Hoenn, Flannery follows Blaine's example of using Fire-type Pokemon. She has a Numel, a Slugma, a Camerupt, and a Torkoal in ''Emerald'' version.

* CurbStompBattle: Being a Fire-type Gym Leader, the highly overleveled Water-type M4 beat down her Pokemon without breaking a sweat.
* MsFanservice
* PlayingWithFire: Goes without saying, since she's a Fire-type Gym Leader.

!!Norman
The fifth Gym Leader of Hoenn, Norman is also the father of A. He specializes in Normal-type Pokemon. In Emerald, he has a Spinda, Vigoroth, Linoone, and Slaking.

* CurbStompBattle: Like Flannery before him, M4 absolutely destroyed his team.
* LightningBruiser: Vigoroth wiped out every Pokemon on the team until it came face-to-face with M4.
* SoProudOfYou: Norman is torn between this and envy when A defeats him.

!!Winona
The sixth Gym Leader in Hoenn, Winona uses Flying-type Pokémon.

* BossInMookClothing: It wasn't due to her signature Altaria that we lost the first battle against Winona, or even the Skarmory. No, it was the tiny Swablu she initiates the battle with which defeated Moe with a well-placed Perish Song, allowing the rest of her team (the REAL bosses) to destroy the significantly weaker remains of A's team.
* CombatPragmatist: She has absolutely nothing against sacrificing her Swablu as long as she manages to cast Perish Song on those she otherwise would have trouble defeating.
* CurbStompBattle: What happened (to the third gym-leader in a row) when Swablu was taken out instantly without the chance to Perish Song.
* DanceBattler: She is apparently proud of her own and her Pokémon's elegant battle choreography. However, since this is turn-based Pokémon combat with only sprites (as well as Twitch had turned off battle animation), [[InformedAbility that is one dance we'll never get to see.]]
* OneHitKill: Her Swablu's Perish Song could be seen as this even if it has a three turn delay, as Twitch is unable to switch Pokémon to save the afflicted. They only won when Moe managed to take out Swablu in a single Strength attack, allowing her to sweep the rest of Winona's team with Rollout.
* StatusInflictionAttack: An example of the Doom effect, actually.

!!Tate & Liza
The seventh Gym Leader(s) in Hoenn, Tate & Liza follow Sabrina's example of using Psychic-type Pokemon. They have a Claydol, a Xatu, a Lunatone, and a Solrock in Emerald version.

* TheDreaded: Fear of them began as early as Mauville City, by which time A had proven to be devastatingly terrible at Double Battles. However, several of them are weak to M4's Surf, which hits both opposing Pokemon in Double Battles (and can't accidentally hit allies, unlike in later Gens where it hits everyone but the user).
* DownToTheLastPlay: Despite her having a level 74 Azumarill, they defeated A multiple times due to focused team-work and M4 sometimes attacking her team-mates and generally was forced to fight alone. The time A won, they only had M4 left with 5 hp.
* MillionToOneChance: They would have won the last battle. Due to the Light Screen, Claydol would not have fainted from the last Surf, and if they hadn't had a Hyper Potion they would have defeated M4 instead. Luckily for the players, they managed to avoid putting any opponent on low hp so they still had that Hyper Potion at the end, AND they managed to get a very perfectly timed CriticalHit, without which Claydol would have Psychiced or Earthquaked M4 to yet another loss.
* PsychicPowers
* TacticalSuicideBoss: They stopped to heal Claydol when one more attack would have killed M4 Moe, A's last remaining Pokémon. They lost their victory because of that.

!!Juan
The eighth and final Gym Leader in Hoenn, Juan is a sharp-dressed man running the Sootopolis City Gym after Wallace's departure, retaining its Water-type specialty. He uses a Luvdisc, a Whiscash, a Sealeo, a Crawdaunt, and a Kingdra.

* CurbStompBattle: Even with Tate and Liza interrupting A's streak, it picked up again with Juan. His Gym was far harder than he was.
* TheDreaded: Fear of Sootopolis Gym began earlier than Mossdeep's, but for a different reason - the cracked-ice puzzle would be excruciatingly difficult without the aid of Democracy Mode.
** [[http://i.imgur.com/8UZd0Rl.png The streamer has said]] they will activate Democracy Mode for the Gym.
* StoneWall: In theory, his Kingdra. Combinations of Rest, Hyper Potions, and high defenses leave most players struggling against it. Then it met a level 83 Azumarill...

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Elite Four]]
!!Tropes applied to all:
* BossBonanza
* CombatPragmatist: They are more than happy to use Full Restores to eliminate any dents A has made on them.
* CriticalExistenceFailure: Several of the Elite Four's Pokémon have displayed astounding tenacity with their innate knack to survive most of A's Pokémon's "OneHitKO"-esque attacks with a sliver of HitPoints left, dishing out retributory damage in return.
** This is especially a pain considering every member of the Elite Four has a habit of using a Full Restore the first time this happens to any one of their Pokémon. As a result, in many cases bringing an enemy's health down to 1% from, say, 50%, is worse than bringing it down to 40%, as healing items are always used before any attacks.
* SpamAttack: Despite the competent intelligence of the foes, each member has a Pokémon with a tendency to re-use a certain move over and over again, with notable offenders being Double Team, Protect, and Recover.

!!Sidney
The first of the Elite Four, Sidney uses Dark-type Pokemon. In Emerald, he has a Mightyena, Cacturne, Shiftry, Crawdaunt, and Absol.

* AchillesHeel: Most of his team being dark type allows Annie to easily mop the floor with his team after she was decently leveled.
* ButtMonkey: The poor guy has been beaten by A ''ninety-eight times''. Originally, he at least had the comfort of knowing he was softening her team up for his colleagues to beat, but ever since Annie got strong enough to OneHitKO all of his Pokémon, he's pretty-much just wasting his own time here.
* CombatPragmatist: In addition to Full Restores, he happily uses Double Team to dodge everything.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Sidney's actually a thoroughly NiceGuy, being entirely gracious in defeat.
** DarkIsEvil: His team, however, has multiple nasty customers in it, including a giant lobster that fights everything in sight, a cactus that methodically stalks down travelers until they are incapable of moving, and a species known specifically as the "[[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Wicked Pokémon]]". The fanart reflects this. Absol and Mightyena, however, are examples of DarkIsNotEvil, like their master.
* EvilCounterpart: The first trainer other than the PC in TTP history to have their [[http://imgur.com/9XB8s4W entire team]] immortalized in fan art. His pokemon were even given [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22eeqg/ateam_fanart_the_enemy_sidneys_team/ nicknames]] a'la [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid FOXHOUND]]. They are Sand Hyena (Mightyena), Needle Cactus (Cacturne), Double Tengu (Shiftry), Moon Doge (Absol) and Pistol Shrimp (Crawdaunt).
* {{Jobber}}: Much like [[Characters/TwitchPlaysPokemonRed Bruno]] and [[Characters/TwitchPlaysPokemonCrystal Will]], Sidney does a good job of weakening the hero's team. Also much like Bruno and Will, Sidney ends up losing an insane amount of times. His final record? ''5-98''.
* TheDragon: His Shiftry is perhaps his most dangerous 'mon. It uses Swagger to confuse its opponents, Double Team to make their non-self-hurting moves miss, Extrasensory to deal with Fighting-types, and Torment to keep the Mob from spamming A. With this it was able to delay M4 for half a dozen turns, enough to bring a 'mon twice its level down to red.
* {{Troll}}: His Shiftry definitely is one, which is fitting enough given that it's based on a tengu. It has only one damaging move, which does not receive STAB, but can cause the annoying Flinch effect. It has two obnoxious debuffs, Torment (which prevents the use of a move several times in a row) and Swagger (which encourages an opponent to kill themselves with boosted damage. "[[MemeticMutation SWAG]]!") Its last move is Double Team to improve its own evasiveness, which it likes to spam.
* SpamAttack: Shiftry used Double Team!
* StatusInflictionAttack: SHIFTRY used SWAGGER!
* VillainDecay: Initially, Sidney was a huge obstacle, with Shiftry in particular bringing potential sweeps to a screeching halt. However, ever since Annie got strong enough to sweep his team, he's mostly regarded as a waste of PP. He only poses any threat when the Mob loses coordination and stops spamming Brick Break.

!!Phoebe
The second of the Elite Four, Phoebe uses Ghost-type Pokemon. In Emerald, she has two Dusclops, two Banette, and a Sableye.

* CombatPragmatist:
** Rather than fight Azumarill directly, Sableye does generous usage of Double Team to make it extremely hard to hit, buying it time to whittle the giant down. Sableye also has access to Night Shade, which does the same damage regardless of defenses. Using this combo, Sableye brought the level 95 M4 down to 11% health by herself. One more hit would have finished the job.
** At the beginning of the last day, the mob used Democracy to rearrange the team's moves to maximize efficiency. So Phoebe, of course, immediately has Banette use Grudge and eliminate all of M4's Rollout PP.
** Some of her Ghost-type Pokémon also know atypical elemental moves that tend to subdue A's Pokémon at the worst moments, like Dusclops using Ice Beam and Banette using Thunderbolt.
* TheDreaded: Phoebe is excellent at putting massive crimps in otherwise promising E4 runs. Annie, the lead Pokemon, is completely incapable of harming her ghosts, and the mob often doesn't have the coordination to swap her out for Mightyena, M4, or GJ.
* KryptoniteFactor: The mob sure does hate Ghost-types. It doesn't help that many of A's mon have been taught Strength, often times to plug a hole made by an accidentally lost better move.
* NoSell: Her Ghost-type Pokémon are immune to Normal-type and Fighting-type moves. These immunities are most apparent when a Pokémon like M4 the Azumarill repeatedly uses moves like Strength and/or Rock Smash (arguably the most notable offenders so far) to no effect, despite having better options in its arsenal of moves.
* NotCompletelyUseless: The move Grudge reduces the PP of a move used to defeat a Pokémon to 0. Under normal circumstances, this is too small an effect to matter, but with the marathon of battles that is the Elite 4, and the limited number of competent Pokemon at A's disposal, this move has crippled more than one attempt.
** In particular, M4 relies on Rollout to sweep many of the Pokémon, making an unlucky Grudge fatal.
* SpamAttack: Although not really an "attack" ''per se'', Phoebe's Level 48 Dusclops has become ''quite'' fond of spamming the move Protect, all the while draining the cherished Power Points (PP) of the moves of A's various Pokémon. The move Curse seems to be the second most-loved move, typically devastating A's Pokémon by taking away huge chunks of HitPoints each turn.
* StatusInflictionAttack: The move Curse, primarily.
* TakingYouWithMe: She has a tendency to use Curse, which for a Ghost-type destroys half their max HP, but inflicts a curse on its opponent, killing afflicted 'mons within 4 turns. That means even M4, who is maxed in terms of levels, needs to be careful, as the mob found out in several battles.

!!Glacia
The third of the Elite Four, Glacia uses Ice-type Pokémon. In Emerald, she has two Sealeo, two Glalie, and a Walrein.

* ActionBomb: Glacia's Level 52 Glalie.
* AnIcePerson: She commands Ice-type Pokémon.
* MakingASplash: 3 out of 5 of Glacia's Pokémon are part Water-type (all being of the Spheal evolutionary line).
* TheParalyzer: Paralysis tends to be induced by her Pokémon (inflicted by the move Body Slam).
* SpamAttack: When there's no active weather condition, Hail is used nearly every chance that Glacia gets.
* TakingYouWithMe: To the surprise of many people in the chat, around the time of 19d 16h 59m, her Level 52 Glalie used ''Explosion'' while at low HitPoints, a maneuver which truncated Tentacruel's surprising sweep against Glacia's Pokémon at the time.
* WeatherOfWar: The Hail weather condition is quite effective at chipping away at the health of A's Pokémon.

!!Drake
The fourth of the Elite Four, Drake uses Dragon-type Pokémon. In Emerald, he has a Shelgon, Altaria, Kingdra, Flygon, and Salamence.

* TheDreaded: His dragons are tough on a ''normal'' run. He's proven himself very adept at either finishing off weakened runs or damaging them enough for Wallace to pulverize.
* LightningBruiser: His Pokémon are both fast and powerful. They are well rounded, and well capable of punishing any who mistakenly switches Pokémon or resorts to wasting a turn with a useless move. That, and they're tough to boot. No wonder he leads the Elite Four.
* SpamAttack: His Shelgon's Protect move.

!!Wallace
The Hoenn Pokémon Champion after Steven stepped down, Wallace uses Water-type Pokémon. In ''Emerald'', he has a Wailord, Tentacruel, Whiscash, Ludicolo, Gyarados, and Milotic.

* DevilInPlainSight: [[http://imgur.com/FWzC2DV He might very well be Bill in disguise...]]
* EvilCounterpart: The second trainer (after Sidney) to have their team [[http://imgur.com/7bF9seJ immortalized in fan-art]].
* MakingASplash: His revered use of Water-type Pokémon.
* RedBaron: [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22sy2q/wallacetaker/ This post]] calls him the Wallacetaker and the comments talk about how Cynthia became a Champion by following his example.
* SpamAttack: Although used defensively rather than offensively, the [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22qdsz/fing_milotic/ repeated]] [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22qc46/oh_f_you_milotic/ use]] of the move Recover was practically the ''sole'' reason that A's Tentacruel could not take Champion Wallace's Milotic down with an Electric-type Hidden Power move (most evident during the battle against Wallace that began at 19d 21h 21m).
-->--'''[[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22qc46/oh_f_you_milotic/cgpcap4 z0mgitsTufty]]''': [=[RECOVERING INTENSIFIES]=]
* StoneWall: Milotic used RECOVER!
* TacticalSuicideBoss: During the winning run, M4's Rollout ends when Whiscash is sent out. Whiscash resists Rock-type attacks, and has the power to take out M4 with Earthquake before she can set up another Rollout. However, Whiscash wastes three turns buffing itself with Amnesia while M4 sets up another Rollout, allowing M4 to grind it down. Even better, Amnesia's buff wouldn't even ''help'' against Rollout.
* TookALevelInBadass: Formerly the eighth Gym Leader (a high rank in itself), he moved on to become the Champion of Hoenn.
** Took a meta one, too - his Water-type Pokémon team is usually considered underwhelming in standard play, but in ''Twitch Plays Pokémon'' with a time limit and A relying on two Water-type Pokémon (Azumarill and Tentacruel) and a Rock/Ground-type Pokémon (Graveler) to stay alive, he poses a palpable threat.
* WhyWontYouDie: Fast becoming the Mob's usual reaction to [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22qdsz/fing_milotic/ Wallace's Milotic]].

! A's Team "The A-Team"

[[folder: The Team in General]]
* AmazonBrigade: A's team has a tendency to only have one or two males at a time, if any. This is in stark contrast to teams of both previous streams, where TheSmurfettePrinciple was in full effect. The endgame team had 5 females, with Mightydoge as TheOneGuy.
* MoeAnthropomorphism: Around the time that the police force lore cropped up, and in contrast to previous generations, depicting the team as humans (or {{Beast M|an}}en) became at least as popular in fanart as sticking to their canon forms.
* NoSell: Due to the change of Hidden Machine (HM) move mechanics in Generation III, A simply has to teach any of her Pokémon HMs like Surf or Dive in order to make them immune to the murderous effects of the PC's Release option.
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: B-spammers consistently prevented Zexy's evolution and tried to delay several others, though this behavior lessened (but didn't disappear) over time. So far, Marill, Nincada, Abra, and Geodude have been allowed to evolve before the re-introduction of Democracy, Nincada and Abra on their first try; Oddish and Tentacool only evolved in Democracy.
* PoliceProcedural: While the theme first coalesced as HiredGuns, it has since developed into a police-specific theme with some SWATTeam influence.
** ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: That said, they've yet to do any actual visible policing of anywhere. They've handled two teams of environmental extremists, though.
* RightHandVersusLeftHand: They all seem to have a habit of attacking each other in battle when they should be attacking the other guys. It's unclear whether this is [[AHouseDivided out of malice]] or just out of [[ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy terrible aim]]. Although the latter would be oddly [[ATeamFiring appropriate]]...
** Torchic and Azumarill were often thought to be rivals, both being the strongest on the team during their time together. [[RedOniBlueOni Their natures are Lonely and Rash and their types are Fire and Water, respectively, fueling the comparisons.]] Many have offered [[SlapSlapKiss other theories]]...
* SlidingScaleOfAnthropomorphism: Alongside the more [[RidiculouslyCuteCritter traditional]] fan art, there is a [[http://imgur.com/Gqq5jUF good deal]] of [[http://imgur.com/8mOriZ8 fan art]] depicting the whole team (and some enemies) as humans.

A's seventh Pokémon and the third caught during her second Triple Capture Spree, Marill was sent to the PC automatically due to A's team being full, but the attempt to retrieve her resulted twice in her being the only 'mon left in the party. This ended up being a blessing in disguise, as being alone allowed A to grind Marill and defeat the first Gym with it. Since then, she has gone on to become A's primary and most powerful Pokémon, especially after A's starter Pokémon Torchic was released.

* TheAce: She has become this in A's team. In fact, she is the first Pokémon that ''Twitch Plays Pokémon'' has ever raised to Level 100. Part of this is due to her rate of gaining experience. [[http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/0/0a/ExpGraphLv100.png Azumarill is a Fast gainer]], and into her Level 90-99 range, she still received more than 1000 points for defeating Level 40 Pokémon. Due to this, M4 only needed 800,000 total ExperiencePoints to become Level 100, in contrast to Bird Jesus and Lazorgator, who would both have needed 1,050,000 total.
* AchillesHeel: M4 knows 4 moves. One is Surf, a powerful, very useful Water move which she gets STAB from and which takes advantage of her Rash nature. Another is Rollout, her SignatureMove which starts out weak, but when it gets going it can demolish entire enemy teams. Yet another is Strength, from which she gets no STAB but which is at least fairly strong on its own. And the last one is... Rock Smash, an utterly pathetic 20 base power attack only good for destroying rocks out of battle, that will usually barely even tickle the enemy. The mob has little control over what attack to use, so she always runs the risk of using Rock Smash and essentially wasting a turn or more.
* {{Acrofatic}}: She may have Thick Fat, but she can Surf like nobody's business and roll all over opponents.
* BadassAdorable: This being said, she is also an adorable blue water-bunny.
* BreakoutCharacter: Similar to Laser-Gator from the previous run, M4 and her side of the lore have been embraced by the fandom. Her determination and badassery are a good mirror to that of her trainer, as it is, in a way, both of their stories.
* {{Cap}}: Ascended all the way to Level 100, a first for ''Twitch Plays Pokémon''.
* CatchPhrase: [[http://youtu.be/CtwJvgPJ9xw?t=14s "They see me rolling..."]]
** Alternatively [[Franchise/{{Transformers}} "Let's Rollout."]]
* CompositeCharacter: Of Bird Jesus and Lazorgator. The former by virtue of being a ComMon replacing the starter as the main Pokémon of the party and being heralded as a holy figure, and the latter by virtue of being a Water-type, the main Pokémon in the party, and switching to a military theme.
* CrutchCharacter: Even more so than Lazor Gator. The general order of battle against bosses has often been: "A sends out her five mons and each gets stomped. She then sends out Azumarill, who plows through the entire enemy team." This pattern came to a head at the Elite Four since, try as M4 might, it simply can't take out five teams in a row. Red and AJ's teams had the EXP. Share to let their own overleveled 'mon still contribute, but since A lost hers, it means the only hope for her team to catch up is to leave the Elite Four and go train against weaker wild Pokémon.
* CurbStompBattle: Upon reaching Level 100, M4 typically partakes in such battles, due to her level and sheer strength. This trope is particularly noticeable whenever A stumbles upon a wild Pokémon and M4 is sent out.
* TheDeterminator: Like Lazorgator and Bird Jesus before her, she continues to fight even when the odds against her seem hopeless. Notable mention goes to the fight against Tate & Liza, where she was reduced to 5HP by Claydol, followed by Tate & Liza using a Full Restore on it. Despite the mob having given up on their chances of winning, M4 then managed to score a critical hit surf, knocking Claydol out at full HP and winning the badge.
* DiscardAndDraw[=/=]StrongAsTheyNeedToBe: Learned Water Gun at level 10 and [[ElementalRockPaperScissors used it at level 14 to defeat]] Roxanne's Nosepass. Winning the battle had it grow to level 15 and it promptly replaced Water Gun with Rollout.
* {{Foil}}: To Zexy. M4 was the second highest leveled 'mon while they were together, and she was generally more useful in battle. They fought several times in Double Battles. It's suspected that this rivalry was in part due to [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/218oak/a_loves_her_team/ underlying sexual tension]].
* IdiotBall: Due to the redesigned move layout, which now arranges moves in battle in a 2-by-2 grid instead of a 4-in-a-row list, it's thus much easier for the Mob to accidentally switch to using a different move and harder for [[AttackAttackAttack spamming the A button]] to work. This frequently affected Marill during Roxanne's Gym fights, as Marill would be using Water Gun, then start spamming status-affecting moves after one move command.
* TheLancer: To Zexy, until becoming TheLeader when Zexy was released.
* TheLostLenore: Zexy.
* MakingASplash: It's a Water-type, using moves such as Water Gun early on and Surf later.
* MeaningfulName: The M4 Moe is a type of gun, alluding to her high firepower. "Moe" also means cute.
* MoeAnthropomorphism: Pretty much all of the A-team got this at some point, but she's the most common subject. Subverted in that she's usually depicted as a badass instead.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: [[HotBlooded Has a Rash nature.]] Her BlueOni entry made it here because she's blue.
* NukeEm: Her Surf has been [[http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/730/335/a49.png compared to a nuke]] in terms of firepower.
* OneManArmy: Much like Lazorgator, she is massively overleveled and often solves battles solely by herself. Cue to [[http://i.imgur.com/rjKT47D.gif team rosters]].
** This is enforced even further by the fact that previous generations tended to stick with one team as much as possible in order to prevent accidental releases. Horrible luck and a belief in the PC being less lethal in this generation led to a lot of party switching, and to the overleveled M4 Moe becoming even more overleveled, being pretty much the only constant in the team.
* PlotArmor: Due to having learned the HM move Surf, which prevents her release.
* RedOni: Rash-natured. This is in contrast with the Lonely-Natured Zexy's Blue. Coincidentally, they're both the opposite color of their respective tropes.
* RecurringElement: [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonRed This isn't the first time]] a ComMon becomes the powerhouse of the party after the starter gets released. [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonCrystal This isn't the first time]] a Water-type becomes the powerhouse of the party, either.
* RollingAttack: The move Rollout.
* SignatureMove: Rollout.
* TomatoInTheMirror: Her [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/221ivn/the_true_identity_of_azumarill/ true identity]] is Slasha. Possibly.
* TownGirls: Cross-generational example; she's the butch to T4's neither and Y4's femme.
* VirginPower: Azumarill's earliest nickname was "the Virgin Marill", referencing her low level and hope for salvation to defeat the first gym. Since she's now characterized as a hardened veteran, though, she may not be a virgin anymore.
* WorldsBestWarrior: In level only, at least. She has reached Level 100, thus there is no possibility of any Pokémon trained by the Mob to ever surpass her, only equal her.
* TheWorfEffect: With a Level 100 Pokémon in tow, you would think A could solo a majority of the Elite Four's Pokémon and knock them silly, but nope. Unfortunately, despite Azumarill being Level 100 and initially curb-stomping many foes, the multitude of runs consisting of challenging the Hoenn Elite Four and the resultant white-outs have displayed this trope, ensuing in the ''Emerald'' stream being the longest stream despite being the only one so far with a Level 100 Pokémon in the player's party. Although all of the Elite Four (and Champion's Pokémon) being below ''Level 58'', they have proven themselves a force to be reckoned with whenever M4 is sent out in battle. A even has trouble reaching Drake most of the time, let alone Wallace.
* YouAreInCommandNow: Became the leading Pokémon after everyone else was briefly deposited. Twice.
** Officially became TheLeader after Zexy was released.

* TheBigGirl: At one point, she had the second-highest level out of A's team. Also, should her name actually refer to her size, this also makes her (besides Annie) the tallest of the team.
* DemolitionsExpert: With the story slowly settling in on a police theme, 5'7'' became the [[http://imgur.com/8SjsI8P bomb squadette]] of the team. The explosions were seen primarily as her being TheKlutz and messing up wires and fuses with hilarious results.
* DishingOutDirt: As a Rock/Ground, she knows a lot of earth-based attacks.
* ExtremeOmnivore: She ate A's Level 10 Feel 23 Green Pokeblock and washed it down with some Carbos.
* MadBomber: She exploded herself and others with great frequency while she still knew Self-Destruct. It was later forgotten, [[HereWeGoAgain only to be relearned as Explosion]].

* SideKick: Generally considered this to M4, thanks to 5'7" having a similar body type and their [[RollingAttack similarities in attacking]]. Was second highest leveled for a time as well.
* TheSmartGuy: As a result of eating A's Green Pokéblock, 5'7's intelligence has been boosted. [[InformedAbility At least according to the Contest Conditions, given Pokémon there is no way for her to actually show it off.]]

A female Vileplume caught as an Oddish in the Safari Zone. Evolved into Gloom via Rare Candy and then Vileplume immediately after, in Democracy.

* BackFromTheDead: Viewed as the reincarnation of Red's 'mon Cabbage.
** CameBackStrong: Zigzagged. She was caught as an Oddish but eventually made it all the way to Vileplume, unlike Red's Cabbage who only made it to Gloom.
* CannonFodder: Perhaps the most of anyone on the team, even after she evolved ''twice''. Even so she still managed some impressive feats, like [[TakingTheBullet taking a Solarbeam meant for M4]] and stalling with Giga Drain while the Mob tried to heal Azumarill. Eventually, since two of the Elite Four relied on Water-types, Vileplume's Petal Dance became a dangerous but welcome tool against them.
* CantCatchUp: One of the victims of this by the time the team reached the Elite Four. While their opponents were in their 40s and 50s, Vileplume was in its 30s, making even grinding it on Victory Road a risk.
* CloudCuckoolander: Often depicted in fanart as a rather carefree science girl, always smiling with experiments in hand contrasting the other more serious members of the A-team and often making Mighty stare at her in disbelief for her antics.
* DanceBattler: Knows Petal Dance, which borders on DangerousForbiddenTechnique since it causes confusion - and as everyone knows, the Mob is not exactly coordinated enough to withdraw her when that happens.
* HollywoodAcid: Knows the move Acid.
* TheLeader: Promoted to the leader of the Cabbagepatch thanks to her evolutions, now outranking the previous leader (a Gloom). Before this, it was believed that her status in the party at all was due to her being the elected president of the Safari Zone Oddish.
* LifeDrain: Knows Giga Drain.
* MauveShirt: Originally, the only reason her folder was separated from The Cabbagepatch was her status in the party. Many didn't expect her to live long even then because the previous two Oddish owned by the Mob had been both been nearly useless and then released. [[TookALevelInBadass But then she became a Vileplume]].
* NonDamagingStatusInflictionAttack: For a time, Vileplume's movepool consisted of Poison Powder, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore... and Acid. Of those, only Sleep Powder is left (but Sludge Bomb also has a decent chance to poison).
* OneCurseLimit: She was often hampered by this, as whenever the enemy becomes afflicted with one status effect three out of four of her moves does efficiently nothing since one cannot be afflicted with more than one status effect. Since out of her original three powders only one is left (Sleep Powder), this has become irrelevant (although she can also inflict Poison with Sludge Bomb).
* PoisonousPerson: Poisonous Pokémon: Knew Poison Powder, and has now learned one of the best Poison moves in the game, Sludge Bomb.
* ScienceHero: Some fanart depicts her as being the one who invented the "[[SuperSerum Rare Candy Treatment]]", with the rest of the Cabbagepatch being the lab assistants.
* SignatureMove: Petal Dance is largely becoming this trope for Vileplume.
* SuperSerum: [[http://i.imgur.com/2KRHTpI.jpg One artwork]] depicts the "Rare Candy Treatment" as such, causing Vileplume to become a SuperSoldier along with Tentacruel.
* TookALevelInBadass: After learning Petal Dance, what was once considered by many to be a Cannon Fodder in the team was finally able to go toe to toe with some of the Elite Four`s mons.

* BarbarianLonghair: Or Barbarian Long Mane if you're sticking to his in-game sprite.
* BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu: In the final battle against Wallace, it dodged Wailord's Blizzard ''four times'', using Crunch on the whale until it was forced to heal with a Full Restore. Its fifth Blizzard connected and took out Doge, but not before it managed to bring Wailord down to a quarter health again, negating its healing and giving M4 an opening to begin its victorious Rollout.
* CantCatchUp: Lackluster moves and being in its mid-30s made him terrible against the Elite Four. After a few impressive showings against Phoebe, though, he began climbing up into the 40's, and learning Shadow Ball by TM and Crunch by level-up ultimately turned him into Phoebe's designated counter.
* CastFromHitPoints: Double Edge, which inflicts recoil damage. Fitting for a reckless CowboyCop like him.

* DarkIsNotEvil: Dark-type, but loyal to the team.
** DarkShepherd: But you wouldn't want to hide information from him.
* DeathGlare: Fanart was quick to notice that as a Mightyena, he has Intimidate as an ability - cue fanart showing him glaring at poor perps while interogating them.
* EleventhHourSuperpower: He learned Crunch very late, which meant he suddenly became A's main weapon against Phoebe's ghosts.
* EnhancedInterrogationTechniques / JackBauerInterrogationTechnique: May or may not bite you or throw sand in your face to get what he wants.
* FaceOfAThug: His natural ability is Intimidate, but his nature is Mild.

* TheLostLenore: [[http://imgur.com/8mOriZ8 Birdcop]]; some amongst the Mob speculate that the loss of her was the CynicismCatalyst that turned him into the grizzled CowboyCop he is today.

* PapaWolf: Go on, try to harm his poochies, we dare you.
* RabidCop: Knows Roar, and may be a bit more rabid than usual for the trope - he originally knew Bite and eventually learned Crunch.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: Being generally underleveled, Mighty was unable to help very much against most of the Pokémon League. 416* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Liquid Ooze, her ability, damages anything that tries to drain life from her. Sidney's Cacturne didn't realize this untill it was too late and it had already used Leech Seed.
* HollywoodAcid: Knew Acid, just like the Vileplume, but later forgot it.
* TheLancer: Up from being CannonFodder. A second Water type to Azumarill that focuses on special moves instead of physical ones, and spends more time thinking about attacks and diving [[ForceAndFinesse underwater rather than just steam rolling her way through.]] Also has a much more dangerous appearance earning nicknames like Cruella and Kraken as opposed to Moe.
* MakingASplash: Knows Waterfall, Surf, and Dive.
* MundaneUtility: Intended to learn the Water-type [=HMs=] that M4 couldn't, whether due to lack of space or incompatibility. Not that the moves are terrible in battle.
* PoisonousPerson: Poison type with Liquid Ooze, which damages anything that tries to leech life from her.
* PlotArmor: After learning Dive, she can't be released.
* ScienceHero: The lore usually portrays her as forensic expert.
* ShockAndAwe: Learned Hidden Power and does Electric damage.
* StoneWall: Has a very high defense stat and can take a beating, despite being underleveled for the fight with Elite Four.
* SuperSerum: [[http://i.imgur.com/2KRHTpI.jpg One artwork]] depicts the "Rare Candy Treatment" as such, causing Tentacruel to become a SuperSoldier along with Vileplume.
* TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential: Since Hidden Power is a move which takes a type depending on the Pokémon it means Tentacruel, a Water/Poison Pokémon, all along had the hidden potential to shoot lightning from within. Via harsh training from A (a TM of Hidden Power) Tentacruel unlocked her true potential and became a greater threat against Water- and Flying-type Pokémon across the land.
* TookALevelInBadass: Who would have thought the Tentacool caught for the sake of being an HM slave would become the second-most powerful/highest-leveled 'mon in the team?

[[caption-width-right:260:[[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/22kx4y/the_ateam_sprite/ Sprite source]].]]

A female Hariyama caught in Victory Road, a few days before the end of the game. Acquired merely to fill a hole left by the boxing of XX the Wingull, its Fighting-type prowess led it to becoming one of the most important and powerful members of the team during the campaign against the Elite Four.

* AchillesHeel: Annie is incapable of harming Ghost-type Pokemon. Given as how the Mob often lacks the coordination necessary to swap her out during the Phoebe fight, this is a serious issue.
* {{Acrofatic}}: As a Hariyama, who's based on sumo wrestlers. And yes, she does have Thick Fat.
* TheBigGirl: She's one of the burliest party members, and knows Strength to wit.
* CrutchCharacter: Annie is excellent at sweeping both Sidney and Glacia, helping the mob save their more powerful Mons for Phoebe, Drake, and Wallace.
* DishingOutDirt: Knew Earthquake, until it was deleted by accident.
* EleventhHourRanger: Joined the party after they had already reached the Elite Four, and turned out to be one of the most important team members. With Brick Break and Reversal, she can deal massive damage to both Sidney and Glacia - [[CurbStompBattle one-shotting every member of their parties]].
* EleventhHourSuperPower: Learning Reversal can be considered this for her.
* {{Expy}}: To [[WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonCrystal AAJRR RRR "Solid Snake"]] with both being mons captured while traversing through the victory road. Both essentially became a core member of the team and were needed to defeat the Elite Four with Snake responsible for keeping the dastardly Koga at bay while Annie punches out Sidney and Glacia.
* FlawlessVictory: At 20d 0h 43m, Annie the Hariyama snagged one for the first time by completely sweeping Elite Four Sidney's team without taking any damage (the first time that the team was able to proceed to Phoebe totally unscathed, at least in terms of HitPoints). Even better, when Shiftry (the ''one'' foe that was allowed to act) used Double Team during the battle, Annie responded with a Brick Break that was accompanied by a CriticalHit!
** She secured her first ''double'' flawless victory within one Elite Four run by single-handedly defeating the Pokémon teams of Sidney and Glacia with a barrage of Brick Breaks at 20d 13h 22m and 20d 13h 38m , respectively.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Used to use ''smelling salts'' in combat, though it was her weakest move.
* ShoutOut: Expect a LOT of ''Manga/AttackOnTitan'' references to be made while she's around. This is not only because of her sharing a name with one of the characters from that series, but also because (Attack on Titan spoilers ahead, NOT TPP spoilers) [[spoiler: the "female" symbol in her name brings to mind Annie's status as the Female Titan. In fact, the symbol's presence is a large contributing factor as to how she got her most commonly used nickname in the first place.]]
* SignatureMove: Brick Break, for the most part. Reversal takes over should Brick Break run out of PP.
* SuperStrength: Three out of her four moves allude to her massive physical strength.
* SupernaturalMartialArts: Not initially - a problem all Victory Road Hariyama share - but learned Brick Break and Rock Smash from machines, and eventually Reversal by level-up.
* TookALevelInBadass: Used to be a relatively weak Fighting-type caught while trying to get a Lairon/Aggron, but she ended up regularly sweeping Sidney and Glacia on her own later on.

!! apf uojkyy the Kadabra ("Fapbra", "Russian Abra", "Russian Fap", "Abrazzers", "the Joker", "Air Lock", "Website/{{Akinator}}", "Good Abra")

A's third Pokemon, the second part of a triple-capture streak. it evolved into a Kadabra.

* ActualPacifist: For a long time, it only knew Teleport, a non-damaging move that is useless in trainer battles.
* CannonFodder: Pretty much all it was worth in battle until learning Shockwave and evolving.
* CaughtWithYourPantsDown: One of his nicknames, The Fap King, is based on his highly suggestive pose
* CowardlyLion: Often tries to teleport away from battle, but can flatten his opponents when he gets his act together.
* GloriousMotherRussia: Believed to be Russian, due to his name, pronounced "Apf Uotschski"
* TheOneGuy: During his stint on the team the rest of it consisted solely of girls, with the exception of Zexinja who is genderless.
* IHaveManyNames: There's a ton!
** The name "Good Abra" came from a kid in-game who asked the mob what was "hip" and "happening". After random inputs and a few resets, "GOOD ABRA" was what they ended up with. The mob came back later and changed the hip saying to "APOLOGIZE ABRA", leading to interpretations like [[http://imgur.com/FNpnBKP this]].
* TheLoad: For a long time it knew no damaging moves, was vastly-underleveled, and its Teleport, just like Dig, keeps warping A and co. at inconvenient times.
* NoodleIncident: So, did he apologize to A? Or did A apologize to him? And what's the reason for the apology, anyway?
** Turns out it was the mob apologizing for keeping Abra locked up in the PC for so long.
* NotAllowedToGrowUp: Any Kadabra needs to traded to become an Alakazam. Unlike previous runs, this game hasn't been hacked to avoid this.
* MyNameIsQuestionMarks: A questionnaire filled out in a pokémart that started out blank eventually wound up as "[=------ ABRA ------ AIR LOCK=]", leading some viewers to interpret it as a name registration form.
* PsychicPowers: Upon evolving, it learned Confusion.
* RandomEffectSpell: Metronome.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[http://i.imgur.com/15OEJo2.png Attempted this]] ''every single battle'', but it rarely works.
* ShockAndAwe: Was taught Shock Wave by TM.
* TookALevelInBadass: He's gone a long way from the useless Abra who did nothing but teleport away from battles. Kadabra is a lot stronger than Abra and he knows several damaging moves now. Unfortunately he still knows Teleport and as such can and ''will'' continue teleporting away from battle occasionally. Even more unfortunately, he has reached his limit - he will forever be cursed with mediocre stats because he can never evolve. On top of that, he has a counterintuitive Nature.
* UnexpectedCharacter: Most players have trouble catching Abras even on purpose, so it's left several players who came in late wondering... ''how?!''

!! Shedinja ([[BodySwap "Zexy", "Zexinja"]], "Tea", [[{{Anime/Naruto}} "Zexuke"]])

The Shedinja produced by Dotty shedding her skin upon evolution. Thought to be inhabited by the soul of Zexy.

* BigCreepyCrawlies: Well, the shed exoskeleton of Big Creepy Crawly.
* BodySwap: Shedinja is allegedly able to steal your soul if you look into the hole on the back. This is one common explanation for what happened to [[http://imgur.com/aZzCRNZ Zexy]]. Since Shedinja is just an empty shell, this either means that Zexy is no longer lonely with all the other souls in there for [[http://i.imgur.com/juTneUJ.jpg company]], or has [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/21deds/the_last_words_of_a_torchic/ taken]] [[http://imgur.com/1UU8kGB control]] of Shedinja.
** Some also belive that, with the release of Dotty, Shedninja is saving the souls of all the released Emerald run Pokemon not just Zexy.
** CameBackWrong: Ranges from downplayed to straight, given Shedinja's Timid nature as opposed to Torchic having been.
*** CameBackStrong: Zexy was pretty weak at his later days due to forgetting Ember and Peck. After becoming a Shedinja he became much more dangerous, durable and deadly.
*** GenderBender: While Shedinja is technically genderless, this one is the shell of a female Nincada/Ninjask, while Zexy was male.
* HeroicMime: If Shedinja is depicted as having its [[http://imgur.com/CqGgJ7m own personality]], it is usually some variant of this, from being unable to speak to preferring listening over speaking.
* TheCasanova: Even with his masculine sex [[AmbiguousGender technically stripped away]], [[http://i.imgur.com/3VFhBXN.png Zexy is still a ladies' man.]]
* LifeDrain: As it inherited Dotty's moveset it also has Leech Life
* NighInvulnerability: [[ZigzaggedTrope Zigzagged]]; Wonder Guard blocks any move that isn't super effective, which is 12 of the 17 attack types. However, burns, poison and hurting itself in confusion will faint it immediately.
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: An insectoid vampire ninja ghost.
* OneHitPointWonder: Literally.
* SoulJar: For Zexy, as far as most of the lore goes.
* TheStoic: Its reaction to Dotty being released is only a solemn [[http://i.imgur.com/5hcyYJo.png "It's Quiet Now"]].

A septet of Poochyena caught during several consecutive capture streaks. As they have little distinguishing characteristics and are often retrieved from the PC together, the Mob has been referring to them as a collective.

* ActualPacifist: One of the Poochyena, a Level 29 daycare-steroid monster, is called Gandhi by some. The reason? None of his four moves deal damage.
* CannonFodder: Were pretty much this during the first gym, only there to weaken Geodude before Marill would arrive.
** IdiotBall: [[http://imgur.com/gvIxe0D One interpretation of their attempts at the first gym]].
* DarkIsNotEvil: Dark-types, but seemingly too incompetent to do much of anything.
* {{Mooks}}: Considering how there are many of them, how nobody can tell them apart, and how most of them serve as CannonFodder...
** EliteMook: The level 35 Poochyena.
* MultipleHeadCase: They're sometimes depicted [[http://s1210.photobucket.com/user/khdarkwolf/media/TPP%20pics/Scan0005_zps4ce629f9.jpg.html as a single multi-headed dog]], like Cerberus or [[Literature/HarryPotterAndThePhilosophersStone Fluffy]]. Given as said image was drawn back when A only had three Poochyena, one wonders how a seven-headed dog would manage.
* {{Reincarnation}}: Some believe them to be the two dogs from the ''{{VideoGame/Petz}}'' play thorough. Others believe them to be the hyena trio from ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994''. Now that we have more than five dogs, everyone could be right.
* StealthPrequel: Shenzi is believed to have a connection to CMAAÄÄ, the dog from ''Twitch Plays Pokémon Plays Dogz''.
* SomeCallMeTim: Nobody can (or possibly wants to) pronounce ATMMMGMGG's name, so they just call her "[[GenderBlenderName Ed]]".
* TakingYouWithMe: With the rest of the party fainted and at only a single HitPoint left, one of the Poochyena uses Take Down on the opposing trainer's only Pokemon Numel, knocking itself out with recoil damage but taking down the Numel as well.

A Wurmple who had yet to be taken out of the PC ever since being captured, until Day 10. Interpreted by some as an agent of Bill, and by others as his own mastermind.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: So far, all he's done is hide and plot against A and the Mob. A might be AxeCrazy, and the Mob is an EldritchAbomination, making the impish G-Man EvilVersusEvil at worst, a GuileHero at best.
* TheDogWasTheMastermind: Such a cute liddle caterpillar couldn't ''possibly'' be evil, right?
* GoodAllAlong: Or well. 'good' might be too much to put it. True to his inspirations however, [[http://i.imgur.com/HK1MMqP.png he -does- seem to want to help out, and is the entire reason the]] WebVideo/TwitchPlaysPokemonFireRed [[SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong run came into existence.]]

* TheMole:
* OrcusOnHisThrone: He spends the majority of his time in the PC, plotting.
* SinisterShades: Often drawn wearing sunglasses, like any good secret agent should.
* TakeUpMySword: After Trapinch's release, Bill made him actively spy on A and her team. As such, he was ''finally'' withdrawn on Day 10.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Given his Impish nature, he is interpreted as [[http://imgur.com/wwRCX83 plotting against either A or her team]]. It doesn't help that his name is suspiciously similar to that of a certain master manipulator. [[VideoGame/HalfLife Rise and shine, Miss A, rise and shine...]]

* MookPromotion: Minun were the bane of A's travels on Route 110, paralyzing her team constantly. Except this one. This one came with her.
* TheOneGuy: The only male Pokemon on the team during his time with them.
* SecondLove: Several depictions involve him and M4 having some level of attraction to one another, whether CCC reminding M4 of Zexy or him merely having a crush on his cool team leader. This likely contributed to the minor backlash when he was left in the PC and Pikachu temporarily took his place.
* ShockAndAwe: The team's primary Electric-type from Day 8, until he was deposited and temporarily replaced by Pikachu.

* PutOnABus: Accidentally deposited early on Day 11 by a group who ''really'' wanted to use the PC. Due to a combination of her failure to learn Thunderbolt, the Mob's inability to coordinate acquiring and using a Thunder Stone for her, and, most importantly, the near-certainty that using the PC would royally mess up the team even further, it was deemed too dangerous and not worth it to retrieve her.
* SweetPollyOliver: Some portrayals have her infiltrating the team by masquerading as Minun due to their similar looks, often as a spy of Bill. [[TheScapegoat For some reason]].

* DrivesLikeCrazy: See the above picture. One handed at full speed while firing a gun with his partner on top - you want to get out of his way as soon as you hear the sirens.
* IronicName: He's male, but his name is spelled "XX," as in the female chromosome.
** GeniusBonus: The [=X/Y=] distinction is reversed in birds; males have matching chromosomes and females have a mismatched pair. [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZW_sex-determination_system They are usually called Z and W to avoid confusion.]]
* MakingASplash: Knows Water Gun.
* PutOnABus: Deposited in the PC on day 14, since at level 20 he was not useful in challenging the Elite Four.
* TheLoad: An unevolved level 20 on a team where even the weakest Pokémon are evolved and in their 30es at least.
* TheOneGuy: The only male on the Day 10 team, before Mightyena joined a couple days later.

* FourIsDeath: Released on the 4th day.
* FriendlessBackground: Some people interpret his Lonely nature this way.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: From the Mob's perspective. They wanted Treecko to continue the trend of lizard Pokemon of differing types who's color matched that of the game. They got an orange fire chicken.

* NotAllowedToGrowUp: Past even Lazorgator in that regard. He was still a Torchic far past the point where he should have become Blaziken. His release sealed the deal.
* PermanentlyMissableContent: Various interpretations have arisen to explain Zexy's release, [[http://i.imgur.com/NLmKNkv.jpg ranging]] from him [[http://24.media.tumblr.com/f62da2d4da230f4b0e10e3b2432e64d5/tumblr_n30ptwftT21r2cnpko1_1280.png leaving]](whether to find love, or get stronger), to being killed/[[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/21dedm/shedinja_contains_zexys_soul/ absorbed into]][[http://i.imgur.com/ZaZ892y.png Shedinja]], to A intentionally releasing him because she knew the mob was expecting her to rely on him for her journey.
* PlayingWithFire: As the Fire starter, this is natural.
* PutOnABus: Zexy is yet again lonely, with only Abra for company. [[TheBusCameBack And it's out again]]. With only Nincada for company. [[BusCrash Released on the fourth day]].
* SacrificialLion: The first one to be released, reminding the mob of the PC's deadliness. This happened while A was still trying to beat Wattson, and was a major setback.
* SideKick: An upbeat romantic understudy to an aloof CloudCuckooLander
* SomethingAboutARose: Zexy is popularly depicted bearing a rose in fan art.
* SoulJar: Said by some to have escaped his [[DeadlyEuphemism release]] by transferring his soul into the newly-spawned Shedinja.
* TakeThatScrappy: {{Invoked}}. Calls for his death rang out from Day One, [[DisproportionateRetribution calling him the False Prophet's reincarnation just for not being Treecko]], and the mob [[DroppedABridgeOnHim released him]] on Day Four.
** AlasPoorScrappy: Just as many people felt sorry for releasing him as there were people who called for his release.
* UnfriendlyFire: Zexy has no qualms about attacking his own comrades in the midst of battle.
* WeCanRebuildHim: Crazily, there are plans to do this once TPPE's save file is made publicly available. With it they can identify Zexy's code for its stats and then extract that back into the game, reviving the Torchic from having been released.
* XtremeKoolLetterz: His entire name.

A's second Pokemon, the first of a triple-capture streak.

* ATasteOfPower: The mob got to rent a Ninjask while Dotty was still level 10. They proceeded to sweep their opposing trainer with Fury Cutter.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: Par for the course for a Bug type.
* GoldDigger: Or, rather, the victim of ten thousand of them. As a Nincada the mob cared less about ''her'' than they do about the [[NighInvulnerability Shedinja]] she could potentially make.
** Potentially reinforced once [[http://i.imgur.com/43NXapX.gif Shedinja came around]]. Though this is more of an unfortunate circumstance as most of the mob are comfortable with the current team/traumatized over losing Zexy to risk going back for her.
*** And then she gets released, as if to drive the point home.
* LifeDrain: Gained the nickname "[[{{Pun}} Chupacada]]" due to her regular usage of Leech Life on enemies.
** Turned her vampiric qualities on her teammates during a [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/216zzg/scumbag_tittie_sacrificing_poor_poochy_to_regain/ double battle]]. 780* GassHole: Constantly sends out her pleasant(?) fumes.
* GreenThumb[=/=]PoisonousPerson: Her type.
* RecurringElement: She ended up following the footsteps of [[Characters/TwitchPlaysPokemonRed Cabbage]]... including her untimely release. Afterward, however, she was followed by '''29 successors'''. A apparently missed her so much she kept catching more Oddish in hopes of finding her old one.

!!Trapinch

A Trapinch caught on Route 111. While originally nondescript, its potential to evolve into a Flygon divided the Mob and made them spend almost an entire day at the PC trying to get it into the party even though their team had already taken shape. It was eventually released, but the damage had already been done to A's team.

* AppleOfDiscord: Much like Eevee, its potential power divided the Mob and made them fight over it.
* DivideAndConquer: Its potential power divided the Mob and made them fight over it, causing several powerful party members to be boxed.
* TheMole: Some think it's an agent of Bill's.
* PlayAlongPrisoner: It let itself get captured to divide the Mob.

* ByTheBookCop / DirtyCop: She's usually seen as either of these. The mob hasn't agreed on which though.
* DeathByOriginStory: Birdcop's falling in the line of duty one day before retirement seems to have spurred the rest of the A-Team to become a police force.

[[folder:Lanette]]
!!Lanette

The inventor of the new Pokémon storage system of Hoenn. While at first seeming more benign than the one devised by Bill, it is in fact even more efficient at stealing away the main character's Mons.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: While her storage system is less likely to kill a Mon, it is also far better at taking them away.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: Her PC is much harder to release Pokémon from than Bill's, but it is much, ''much'' harder to withdraw Pokémon from once you've stored them. They're both evil.
* TheDragon: Is usually depicted as being this for Bill.
* EvilIsNotAToy: You thought Hoenn's PC was safe, A, that you could shuffle your Pokemon around endlessly? Not so much fun and games now that you lost your starter!
** AchillesHeel: When using the PC, the Select button turns the glove orange, only allowing Pokemon to be moved and completely excluding the possibility of release. Since the Select button's enabling, there's a chance that this can be used in the Mob's favor, [[ButtonMashing however slim]].
* EvilVersusEvil: It's evil hacker Lanette and her [[EldritchAbomination vile PC]] versus [[AxCrazy Camila A. Slash]].
* FalseFriend: [[http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/723/723/01c.jpg One interpretation of her new PC]] is that she intentionally made it difficult to release Pokémon to lure the Mob into a false sense of security and make them use the PC more often, so that in the end the amount of released party members would ultimately increase. If this is the truth, it worked flawlessly.
* TheGhost: The mob never even encountered Lanette.
* NeverMyFault: All PC problems on her watch are usually blamed on [[TheManBehindTheMan Bill]].
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: The Mob had grown confident that no releases would happen under her PC modifications. Then Torchic was released.
** [[http://imgur.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/gVTqAae This interpretation of the "end of the last day"]] brings the "harmless" back.
--> '''[[BigBad Bill]]''': ''Wrong baaaaaaaall!''
* RecurringElement: Subverted. Lanette ''would'' have become this for Bill, but he was ultimately added to the game's lore.
* UnholyMatrimony: Possibly, with Bill.
* UnknownRival: In-universe. While the Mob knows that Lanette runs Hoenn's Pokemon Storage System and puts at least partial blame on her for A's released Pokemon, A never met her in Fallarbor's Pokemon Center and has no idea who runs the PC.
** Out of universe, however, her status as "Evil PC Guy" is lost to the Mob's ever-present hatred of Bill.

[[folder: Team Aqua and Team Magma]]

!!Team Aqua
The first of two criminal organizations A encounters. Team Aqua is an environmental activist group dedicated to expanding the world's waters, their rationalization being that all life depends on water to survive - that the threat of the dreaded ledges would be reduced is an added bonus. Their leader is Archie.

* MakingASplash: They primarily use Water-type Pokemon.
* {{Pirate}}: Befitting their love of the seas and their acts of theft, they dress this way.
** NinjaPirateZombieRobot: Environmentalist pirates.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: They are willing to resort to piracy in order to achieve their goal.

!!Team Magma

Team Magma is an environmental activist group dedicated to expanding the world's land, their rationalization being that all life depends on land to thrive - that the threat of countless Tentacool and Wingull would be reduced is an added bonus. Their leader is Maxie.

** Their base is full of exploding Graveler and Geodude.
* DishingOutDirt: They primarily use Ground-type Pokemon.
* PlayingWithFire: They also use Fire-type Pokemon.

* InnocentInnuendo: When Steven asked A to come visit him on his house, because he had something to give to her.
** BowChickaWowWow: The chat reaction to this.
** Described as "Hard as Rock" by the Pokénav.
* LoveTriangle: Some assert there to be one between Mr. T, A, and her Steven-senpai.
* TheUnfought: Because of his status as the {{Superboss}} of the original game, and the goal being to beat the Elite Four before the clock runs out, A never gets to battle him since the stream goes black after the credits.

The seven characters the Mob created, and then lost in either soft resets or cancellations from B-button spam.
* AerithAndBob: While some of the lost characters have relatively normal names like Camila or Reid, others have completely bizarre names like !!.
* BodySurf: Some say that Mr. T possessed Brendan to possibly get vengeance for his death. The others followed suit not long after.
* CoordinatedClothes: Siblings or not, they all wear similar clothes to one another.
* DecoyProtagonist: They're either gone for good or living on in A and Brendan.
* RetGone: Quite possibly all seven of them, if not residing in the protagonists.
* ScrewThisImOutOfHere: Milton could have [[RefusalOfTheCall refused the call]] to make [[WebVideo/GameGrumps Milton's Milton Manufacturing]].
* SpiritAdvisor: One interpretation suggests that they're trying to help A succeed in becoming champion. Given [[TheUnintelligible what A hears,]] they're really bad at the whole "advising" part.
* TomatoInTheMirror: Slasha's [[http://www.reddit.com/r/twitchplayspokemon/comments/221ivn/the_true_identity_of_azumarill/ identity]] is M4. Possibly.
* {{Troll}}: One theory for them is that they're the ones who yell commands at A to mess with her in revenge for their deaths.
* UnfinishedBusiness: None of the Lost Characters were able to go on a journey to become champion. If they aren't RetGone, then they're likely residing within her and will not leave until ''she'' does it in their stead.
* TheUnintelligible: If they are residing in A's head and providing her "voices", all they seem to say is random button commands.
* TheUnpronounceable: !!. Slasha's given name as well.

* LoveAtFirstSight: Cooltrainer Brooke asks for an "engagement" within ''seconds'' of spotting A, finishing off a string of somewhat-suggestive dialogue from other females in her area.
* RecurringElement: When the Mob wants to call someone, which doesn't happen often in Emerald, Lass Haley is the usual target, like Youngster Joey before her. More often, however, many would rather just call Joey.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Anna and Meg. Their trainer class suggests a senpai-kouhai relationship; the Mob immediately agreed they were lovers.

* HopeSpot: If the mob had the means to and successfully caught him, he would be this instead of the role he did play.
* HopeBringer: His defeat may have been the inspiration the mob needed to not give up, even when things [[DarkestHour look bleak]].
* MessianicArchetype: Often seen as a sign sent from Lord Helix.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: The first shiny seen in TPP Emerald, and they found it ''underwater''--with the slow movement speed and low encounter rate, you could go the whole game without seeing a single Pokémon while diving, let alone a shiny one.
