[[folder:Burramudgee Bush Rescue]]
The organization founded in ''TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue'', they serve to protect the people of Southern Rivers.

!!TY the Tasmanian Tiger
!!! Actor(s): Stig Wemyss (''TY the Tasmanian Tiger''), Greg Ellis (''TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue'', TY the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan'')

Thought to be one of the last Tasmanian Tigers, TY has little recollection of his parents, thinking they were dead. It wasn't until one fateful day that he fell into a cave and met the Bunyip Elder, Nandu Gili. He reveals that his family (as well as other members of his species) are trapped inside the Dreamtime by Boss Cass using the Talismans. Now knowing the truth, TY sets off on a journey to find the talismans and save his family. TY is a true blue battler through and through. He has a generally empathetic nature and will fight for his friends and family.

!! Tropes:
* TheAce: Due to being Bush Rescue's leader and best fighter, [[spoiler:his mere absence causes the whole team to disband during the Quinkan invasion in ''TY 3''.]]
* AwesomeAussie: No worries when he's around, mate.
* BadassNormal: TY dispenses his enemies using only his twin boomerangs and powerful bite. TakesALevelInBadass when equipped with the Bunyip Gauntlet in ''TY 3''.
* BattleBoomerang: Two of them. He also uses them to glide after jumping and further "'Rang" variations let him use them for a variety of functions.
* TheChosenOne: For ''TY 1'', he was tasked to find the five mystic talismans in order to save his family from the Dreamtime. In ''TY 3'', he's the one who is worthy to wield the Bunyip Gauntlet when fighting against the Quinkan.
* {{Determinator}}: Whether it's saving the world from an aspiring dictator or delivering someone's terrible cooking, TY will take care of it.
* InSeriesNickname: TY is just his nickname. As of the Steam release trailer for ''TY 2'', his real name is Tyrone.
* ManBitesMan: Can puts his sharp chompers to use against enemies though the average Frill's can dodge it fairly constently.
* MascotWithAttitude: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzsC1qSqFDo An American commercial for the first game]] promoted him as this, showing him having done a CurbStompBattle on Franchise/SpyroTheDragon, VideoGame/CrashBandicoot, and Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog as evidenced by them being at a hospital in full body casts with boomerangs embedded in them somewhere. TY walks by all of them and briefly stops to say "Boo!" at them for a quick chuckle at their muffled screams. [[SubvertedTrope In the games proper,]] he's more polite and down to earth [[FaceOfAThug than his mug makes him seen]], at worst engaging in smack talk with foes if given the chance.
* NiceGuy: Real friendly, cheerful, and helpful sorta guy.
* RedIsHeroic: TY sports a pair of red swim trunks and a red bandana in some variation in all of his designs.
* SmallStepsHero: Enforced like many platformer mascots. He's urged to help out his friends and various civilians while hunting for Thunderbird Eggs and they always seem to have one on hand as a reward for his assistance even though it'd probably be easier to tell them he needs them to stop Boss Cass.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Coupled with his WalkingSwimsuitScene, Ty's standard attire omits any form of a shirt. Averted with some skins in the PC versions of ''Ty 2'' and ''3'' that give him a shirt.
* WalkingSwimsuitScene: Ty's standard attire across his multiple appearances is a pair of red and yellow swimming trunks along side a neckerchief, and not counting some skins in the PC remasters, nothing else.

!!Maurie
!!! Actor(s): Terry Gill
TY's mentor figure and Bush Rescue's task master, Maurie is the kind of person who'd rather talk about adventures rather than having them. Despite this, he's always happy to help out TY when he can.

!! Tropes:
* BaitAndSwitch: When Ty has to find himself a second boomerang, Maurie comes to help guide him and has this to say:
--> '''Maurie:''' "Listen mate, I solved your problem! I found you a second boomerang!"
--> '''TY:''' "That's great! Where is it?"
--> '''Maurie:''' "See that tree over there?"
--> '''TY:''' "Yeah!"
--> '''Maurie:''' "Well, it's not there."
* DeadpanSnarker: Maurie has quite the wit.
* FeatherFingers: Sports these as a Cockatoo.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Incredibly gruff and blunt, but fiercely loyal to TY and has strong morals.
* MissionControl: Essentially his role, flying in to give TY some advise and his current objectives while acting as the tutorial person, with some exposition about what might be lurking in a new level for good measure.

!!Shazza the Dingo
!!! Actor(s): Martine Shea, Peta Johnson, Debi Mae West
TY's love interest, Shazza is your regular girl next door. Unfortunately in the outback, next door can be a thousand kilometers away. Lucky for Shazza, she has the gift of mechanical hands which can build a machine that can cover the distance in no time. But of course she would happily walk that far to see TY.

!! Tropes:
* FamilyFriendlyFirearms: Can defend herself with what a laser blaster that looks more like a toolbox than an actual gun.
* HartmanHips: Has some massive hips, [[FanservicePack they get even bigger in the second and third games.]]
* InSeriesNickname: Shazza is a nickname that most of the cast knows her by. Nandu Gili is the exception in calling her by her real name, Sharon.
* TookALevelInBadass: A complete noncombatant in the first game who needed to be defended in one mission while she fixes her jeep. The second game kicks off with her driving a jeep off of a waterfall with no issue and then charge into action alongside Ty and Sly with a laser blaster on hand.
* WrenchWench: She's introduced trying to fix her jeep on her own requesting Sly to keep Cass' goons away while she works.

!!Ranger Ken
!!! Actor(s): Ken Campbell (TY the Tasmanian Tiger), Chris Edgerly (TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue, TY 3: Night of the Quinkan)'
Ranger Ken is a ranger through and through. The only thing he cares about more than the local flora and fauna is ginger beer. Whenever a croc needs tagging, a fire need putting out or a species needs saving from extinction, he`ll be there.

!! Tropes:
* DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength: When he taps Ty on the back, he knocks him flat on the ground.
* GentleGiant: Don’t let his intimidating appearance fool you, he is probably the kindest person in the series and has a huge soft spot for nature.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Indirectly responsible the entire plot of the 2nd game. During the prologue, Fluffy launches an attack on the prison where Boss Cass is interred. Though Ty seems to be gaining the upper hand during their mech battle, she then shoots a laser at the nearby helicopter Ranger Ken's riding sending it spiraling out of control. Ty being forced to save Ranger Ken's skin distracts Ty long enough for Fluffy to bust Boss Cass out of jail. Not much later, Boss Cass would form his own country to establish diplomatic immunity, granting him the freedom to scheme for the rest of the game.
* VolatileTasmanianDevil: A rare subversion. Despite his appearance invoking this trope, he is very much a GentleGiant and FriendToAllLivingThings.

!!Julius McGuffin
!!! Actor (s): Paul Flaherty (TY the Tasmanian Tiger), Neil Hunt (TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue, TY 3: Night of the Quinkan)
Professor Julius McGuffin is is widely known as the brains behind Bush Rescue. He invents everything from rangs to vehicles and is always ready with a handy statistic. He certainly is a Bush Rescue institution.

!!Tropes:
* AbsentMindedProfessor: Eccentric and even a bit dopey, in his EstablishingCharacterMoment Maurie has to yell in order to get Julius’ attention when he was working on machinery.
* GadgeteerGenius: Developer of the Bunyip suits and various other weapons and vehicles which assist TY in his adventures.
* PunnyName: Referring to the "McGuffin" a fictional trope.

!!Dennis the Green Tree Frog
!!!Actor:Daron Jennings (All)
Dennis` passion for Thunder Eggs has made him the great leader he is today. What started as an obsession with shiny rocks, blossomed into a career of funding vulcanologists, sponsoring circular highways and investing in giant paper-mache pies. He would have been happy simply flipping through a book of curtain samples, but instead he became a General in the war against the Quinkan.

!!Tropes:
* AmbiguouslyGay: Or at the very least, CampStraight.
* HalfDressedCartoonAnimal: He doesn't wear pants.
* InSeriesNickname: Known in the first game as "Dennis the Cheapskate."
* TookALevelInBadass: Originally a complete coward, he gains a bit more nerve in the sequel, and by the third game has become a General fighting the Quinkan.
* UnclePennybags: Initially subverted in the first game, however he later funds the creation of Burramudgee Bush Rescue.

!!Sly the Tasmanian Tiger
!!!Actor:
Sly is Ty's brother (and former enemy) and a recurring character in the series. He was Boss Cass's best henchman in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, where he appeared as a mini-boss. Near the end of the story, Ty rescued him from falling into lava. He told Ty that he would regret saving him before running off. During the final battle, he showed up and gave Ty a helping hand in defeating Boss Cass, and ended up as a close ally by the time of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2.
!!Tropes:
* CainAndAbel: He and his brother Ty used to rival one another.
* EvilCounterpart: Originally. He gets over it in the finale of the first game and even helps Ty out by lending him the Doomerang to finish off Boss Cass.
* HeelFaceTurn: Decides to turn on Boss Cass after Ty saves his life and he's been helping him out with defending the peace ever since.
* MirrorBoss: As simplistic as it is, his strategy of running around throwing his boomerangs is effectively identical to how Ty fought in the first game.
* VocalEvolution: Used to just sound like Ty but more vicious. From the 2nd game onwards, he has a distinctive deeper, more mature voice.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Citizens of Southern Rivers]]

!!Sneath & Keith

* BigGuyLittleGuy
* MadLibsCatchphrase: Everything they teach you ends with them comparing the action to somebody nicknamed after the action.
* WhiteSheep: Sneath is a Frill-neck who runs the ''Bush Rescue training course'', so yes.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Cass and His Cronies]]
!!Boss Cass
!!!Actor: Clement von Franckenstein (All)
Boss Cass got out on the wrong side of the egg. He didn`t tiptoe around the shells either, he devoted his whole life to ruling Southern Rivers, an aspiration, which thanks to TY, has remained unrealized. After numerous failed attempts (including kidnapping the entire population of Burramudgee to create an army of uber reptiles) and jail time, it is no wonder that he has a transient work force. Karlos, Fluffy and even Sly have worked for him at one point, in addition to the Frills, Blue Tongues and other assorted baddies who remain regulars.

!!Tropes:
* BadBoss: Could not care less about the safety of his minions and will badmouth and assault them when they fail to meet his expectations. Despite this, [[spoiler: he was absolutely devastated when he ended up killing Fluffy when he tried to kill Ty and the Quinking together. So much so that he doesn't even try to resist arrest when Sly takes him in]].
* BigBad: In every game except the third, and even then he attempts to pull a HijackedByGanon at the end.
* {{Egopolis}}: His city of Cassopolis.
* ClippedWingAngel: Uses a variety of mechanical contraptions against Ty in the finale of Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2 but once they're all destroyed, all he can do is run away while Ty beats him to a pulp with the Shadow Bunyip.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Is pretty distraught when [[spoiler:his shot meant for Ty accidentally hits Fluffy.]]
* FantasticRacism: Speciesism, against all warm-blooded mammals.
* FeatheredFiend: He may not be able to fly but he's as vicious as they come.
* {{Jerkass}}: Unless you've managed to gain his respect and consideration, he'll probably treat you like trash.
* LargeAndInCharge: Downplayed. He's taller than most of the rank-and-file Frills and Blue Tongues under his employ and [[BadBoss looks down]] [[SurroundedByIdiots on them]] in more ways than one.
* LargeHam: You can count the amount of times he says something without a dramatic flair on one hand.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Prefers to work from the shadows, and when he does attack it is with colossal mechs and similar devices. When he is left without gadgets in Bush Rescue, he receives a satisfying [[CurbStompBattle beating]] from TY.
* PragmaticVillainy: Founds his own community in order to gain [[RhymesOnADime diplomatic immunity]].
* SurroundedByIdiots: He'll insult the intelligence of his lackeys when they fail him or say anything he considers stupid.

!!Fluffy
!!!Actor: Kym Wilson
Despite her name, Fluffy lives a no frills lifestyle (no pun intended). It`s all or nothing with this thorny thylacine threatener, which is why she gave her all to make TY nothing. There are two sides to every coin, however, and it only takes a bit of a shock to make a coin on its edge fall one way or the other. Fluffy has piloted a number of mechs in her career including the Neofluffy, Pocket Fluffy and the Ultra Fluffy Gamma.

!!Tropes:
* AffablyEvil: Often tries to warn Ty to not get in the way and is usually pretty polite.
* AscendedExtra: Appears as a one off boss with one line in the first game to being a recurring boss in the the second and then being a much larger character in the third.
* DarkActionGirl: The only recurring one throughout the series.
* HeroicSacrifice:[[spoiler:Is seemingly killed fighting the Quinking.]]
* HighHeelFaceTurn: She eventually turns against Cass to help Ty defeat the Quinking.
* TheManBehindTheCurtain: Of a sort. When you first reach "Fluffy's Fjord", you might think Fluffy refers to the gigantic yeti you're fighting. It quickly becomes clear that it's actually some sort of mechanical beast and then once you hit the 3rd phase of the fight, it's revealed to be a HumongousMecha piloted by the real Fluffy.
* PunchClockVillain: Motivated to work for Boss Cass because he pays well. She's not even that bad of a person separated from that.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: The most prominent reptile out of the many working under Boss Cass. She's specifically a ''Thorny devil'' lizard.

!!Shadow The Bat
!!!Actor: Kate Fitzpatrick

!!Tropes:
* BossArenaIdiocy: She hovers above steam vents allowing Ty to hit a nearby button to blast her with hot air.
* ButterFace: Her attractive figure is contrasted by her unsightly face.
* DarkActionGirl: The one other female member working for Cass in the first game though she doesn't return in later entries.
* HeelFaceTurn: Implied by her daughter in the third game to have pulled this sometime after the first game.
* PreFinalBoss: Pops out of nowhere in the level right before the FinalBoss fight with Boss Cass to try and snatch a talisman from Shazza, ultimately kidnapping her in the process.
* TheSwarm: Fights with a swarm of bats.

!!Professor Karlos
!!!Actor: Nolan North

No one knows when Karlos went bad. He comes from a good family and is very smart. Maybe he was corrupted by jealousy when Julius out shined his intelligence when he was only 12 years old. He worked with Cass for a while on his mammalian manipulation machine but is now a free agent. Which is scarier? He is the uncle of Julius.

!!Tropes:
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: He is undoubtedly a genius, but when Julius became more skilled at the age of twelve, he went off the deep end.
* EvilCripple: He is confided to a wheelchair for mobility.
* EvilGenius
* EvilOldFolks: [[WordOfGod The official website states he is 102 years old]].
* EvilUncle: He is the evil uncle to hero Julius.
* GreenEyedMonster: Towards Julius.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Others]]

!!Gooboo Steve

* CloudCuckoolander: Either this or ObfuscatingStupidity.
* TimeAbyss: Has apparently studied the Quinkan for a million years, so... Yeah.
