Go To

Click here for the canonical Rivals of Aether characters.

While this page is mainly for original characters on the Workshop, characters from games whose dev had a major hand in development are fair game.

* AscendedMeme: Several characters are based off of Memetic Mutations. Notable examples include Melee Fox and Sans.
* BattleIntro: Several have these programmed in, in contrast to the canonical cast that lacks them.
* EasterEgg: Many have unique interactions or functionality when paired with specific characters, if certain difficulty settings are chosen, if certain button combinations are held down, etc.
* JokeCharacter: Many, to the point that the mostly humorous (but extraordinarily powerful) Ronald [=McDonald=] is the most well known character in the workshop among those who don't play the game.
* LionsAndTigersAndHumansOhMy: Several definitively human characters, in contrast to the ambiguity of Shovel Knight, have been introduced to the game with the Workshop, creating this trope.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Given it's individuals with varying art styles often creating sprites and art assets from scratch, some vary dramatically in over all aesthetic.
* OriginalFlavor: Some try their best to fit the tone, art style and aesthetic of the rest of the canonical game.
* RedBaron: Nearly all of the ones adhering to Rivals aesthetic have flashy subtitles, in keeping in line with the canonical cast, to the point that a few out right lampoon the practice.
* Retool: Several characters have been heavily reworked since their release.
* SuddenlyVoiced: A small handful have vocal audio, either sampled from other media or recorded just for these characters. Of particular note is the character Penny, who's codec conversations features a collective near half hour of fully original voice work.

!!Made by: Hyuponia
An enigmatic human emissary.
* ArtAttacker: Uses a paintbrush to create a raincloud in her Neutral Special.
* CoolSword: Has a neat-looking red one in several attacks.
* HiddenEyes: Her eyes are obscured by her hair.
* HostileWeather: Her rainclouds rain down acid rain to steadily deal damage to foes below them.
* ImmuneToFlinching: She gains super armor during her side special.
* MakingASplash: Utilizes purple water in many of her attacks.
* PoisonousPerson: Seems to use acid in many of her attacks.
* ShockAndAwe: Shoots a powerful lightning bolt straight downwards with Down Special. Doing so will also make any active clouds shoot lightning in turn.

!!Made by: [=ChaokoCartoons=]
One of the first original characters released on the Workshop. A boxing battler leopard, originally designed by Andy Ayala.
* BoxingBattler: She's a boxer.
* CloseRangeCombatant: She lacks stage control and her only projectile is rather short-ranged, but makes up for it with good speed and combo potential.
* DashAttack: Her Side Special fits the traditional mold, stopping Ash if it hits someone. Neutral Special also fits, but it has a notable amount of startup time.
* DeathOrGloryAttack: Her Neutral Special. It has a lot of startup, but it has great damage and knockback.
* ExtremityExtremist: Ash only punches for her attacks.
* FlashStep: Her Side Special fits this vibe, with her briefly disappearing before reappearing.
* SpinAttack: Her Up Special, notably she doesn't use a weapon, instead uses her fists to do the attack.

!!Made by: Wishdream
A mountain fox that wields the power of the stars and galaxies.
* CardsOfPower: Seemingly uses cards to channel her magic attacks.
* ChargedAttack: Her Side Special with the Sun card has to be charged up, but if it is charged, Astra can fire a powerful sun projectile.
* EnergyWeapon: Fires a diagonal laser for her comet card's side special, which is somewhat short ranged but the fastest of her side special options.
* AnIcePerson: Her comet card, which focuses on multi-hitting moves with good combo potential.
* MindOverMatter: Her Nebula Card Side Special shoots a projectile that forcibly levitates enemies in the direction Astra is facing.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Effectively has three sets of specials depending on what card she has equipped, which can be swapped between at a whim.
* PowerOfTheSun: The aptly-named Sun card. It focuses on directly offensive abilities that lack in speed.
* ProjectileSpell: Her Side Specials are all projectiles with varying effects.
* SpaceMaster: Uses space-derived attacks, invoking the power of things like comets or stars.
* StanceSystem: Downplayed, she has three cards she can swap between that change up her specials.
* TrapMaster: She can have up to three different card traps active at a time, which can each be remotely detonated.
* UnrealisticBlackHole: Her Nebula card has this motif, focusing on moves that alter the positioning of enemies.
* YouWillNotEvadeMe: Her Nebula Trap creates what amounts to a black hole, sucking foes into its position.

!!Made by: Gourami
The OC to end all OCs.
* ComebackMechanic: PlayedWith. Pre-rework Bird Guy dealt more damage if his percentage is ahead of the opponent's, while he deals less damage if he has more percent than the opponent.
* MakeMeWannaShout: Screeches for his Side Tilt and Up Strongs.
* MovesetClone: Of Gourami's take on Archen. Justified, as Bird Guy was primarily made as an alternative to Archen that did not infringe on copyright. Updates to both characters have made them increasingly divergent.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: More like Non-Standard Vehicle Design. The car he appears in his entrance is a digitized picture of an actual car a la Franchise/MortalKombat as opposed to pixel art like the rest of the game. There's even an alternate version of the character where he spends the whole fight in the car.
* Projeggtile: Replaces Archen's rock attacks with using eggs in the same manner, wherein he can also stop them in mid-air.
* SlideAttack: Does one beak-first for his down tilt.
* TrapMaster: Can stop his eggs in mid-air, turning them into damaging traps.
* UseYourHead: Attacks with his beak in several of his moves.
* WeaponizedOffspring: Summons his young for a couple attacks.

!!Made by: SB-2749
A young boy with a noticeably monotonous fashion style.
* ChargedAttack: His neutral special is one, a projectile attack that gets stronger at full charge. The charge can also be stored and spent on his other specials and some normal attacks as well.
* EasterEgg: Quickly tilting the stick up or down as he performs his forward tilt (which normally has the multi-rod turn into a fist) will have it form the gestures for Paper or Scissors.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: While his rod does turn into traditional weapons like a sword or hammer, it also often forms a hand, an umbrella, and a dumbbell, among other things. Prior to an update, he also would throw bowling balls in his side special.
* HelicopterBlender: His up special. He can even go higher if he has charge. He also uses it in his down aerial.
* JackOfAllStats: His stats are rather balanced all-around, having good options both up close and at a distance, as well as having a rather simple moveset.
* MagicWand: Uses one as his neutral special (see Charged Attack), down tilt, up strong, and back aerial. Like his special moves, the latter three can use up magic charge from the former to become stronger variations.
* PracticalTaunt: His taunt involves him placing his hammer on his shoulder. It has a very weak and small hitbox that sends downwards.
* RecoilBoost: His old down special used to be this, causing an explosion behind himself that propels him forward.
* SwissArmyWeapon: His main weapon, the multi-rod, changes between various forms for different attacks.
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: His side special. After being thrown, they can be further interacted with other hammer attacks. Used to be bowling balls (that would inexplicably turn into bombs for their magic charge variant) before an update.
* TokenHuman: Justified due to not originating from the Rivals of Aether universe.

!!Made by: Muno
* EasterEgg: They can play their guitars on their taunt.
* Expy: The Power Chords mechanic is directly based on Shulk's Monado Arts.
* InstrumentOfMurder: They wield air guitars, both as bludgeoning weapons and to activate their Power Chords.
* MovesetClone: Tempo is this to Coda, with her main difference being that she has a different set of Power Chords from Coda's.

!!Made by: Mawral
A sloth who holds secret knowledge of the Rock Wall's foundations.
* ChainedByFashion: He has chainless manacles on his ankles and a metal collar around his neck, suggesting he might have escaped imprisonment at some point.
* Combos: Epinel is very combo-focused, as he has several grapple moves and cancels, as well as very floaty physics.
* DishingOutDirt: Minor example, but he does use earth in his grounded down special, which has him dig up a platform made of rock, which he can then potentially break to send its components at enemies.
* FlashStep: Epinel does one of his side special, whose distance is dependent on its charge. It goes diagonally downwards if used in the air.
* FloatingPlatforms: His main gimmick, he can dig up to around five platforms that he can freely reposition by using grounded down special whilst on them.
* GrappleMove: Many of his moves involve grabbing, such as his Dash Attack, Back Air, and aerial Down Special.
* GravityMaster: Not exactly, but Epinel's main power is control over inertia or momentum. Hitting the sweet spot of some attacks or using Up Special will cause enemies to briefly ignore gravity and keep moving in the direction they're going, and he can make floating platforms.
* PowerFloats: Epinel is very floaty, and actually floats for his dash animation.
* ShoutOut: Has palettes referencing Zoroark, Alolan Sandslash and Carol Tea, among others.
* SleepyHead: Being a sloth, he'll fall asleep if you leave him idle for too long.
* TakingYouWithMe: Aerial Down Special can be used this way, but it is safer to use it to slam enemies into Epinel's platforms or the ground.
* WolverineClaws: Primarily attacks with his claws.
* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Performs a suplex if he grabs someone with his dash attack, and slams foes into the ground if he lands his aerial down special.

!!Made by: Sakamoto3
A lone human living deep within the Aetherian Forest.
* AGirlAndHerX: A girl and her snake.
* AntiAir: Her Up Strong fits this quite well as she fires a fast-moving arrow straight upwards.
* AssistCharacter: Orochi, the snake in her backpack, pitches in for a couple attacks.
* BadassNormal: Seems to have little in the way of supernatural abilities, only relying on her own weapons to fight. She can still hold up to other characters.
* BowAndSwordInAccord: While she uses a bow to attack foes from a distance, she also uses a hunting knife and axe to fight up close.
* GrapplingHookPistol: Uses her bow this way in her Up Special.
* SnakesAreSinister: Averted with her snake, Orochi.
* TheStraightAndArrowPath: Uses a bow in both her specials and Up Strong.
* SlideAttack: Does one for her down tilt.
* StatusBuff: Her Down Special gives a damage buff to her arrows, either the next charged one or two uncharged ones.
* StickyBomb: An arrow version that she fires for her Side Special, attaching a bomb to opponents that goes off after a delay.
* TokenHuman: Unlike a lot of other human workshop characters who come from different worlds or settings, Hime's backstory places her in the world of Aether, which is canonically devoid of humans, as this for ostensibly her whole life.
* TrickArrow: Her Side Special has her use a StickyBomb arrow and a rope arrow for her Up Special.
* UnnecessaryCombatRoll: Does one right before her dash attack. However, it's rather necessary as she has invincibility during the roll.

!!Made by: Seeds of Aether
A gladiator wolf with lightning powers.
* CastFromHitPoints: In their SuperMode, they constantly take damage.
* CounterAttack: Down Special, if his Sanguine Lightning Meter is not full.
* CloseRangeCombatant: Has no projectiles or traps to speak of, in exchange having tremendous combo ability and strong melee attacks.
* DashAttack: Side Special is an angelable version, and also carries the enemy with Iroh.
* GroundPunch: Their Down Special while in their SuperMode is one, dealing a lot of damage and knockback.
* ShockAndAwe: Uses this to great effect in their specials, surrounding themselves in electricity for Neutral Special, and using it to enhance their attacks in their other specials.
* Shoryuken:Their Up Special, and like their Side Special, it carries foes with him.
* SuperMode: If their Sanguine Lightning meter is full, they will enter this, gaining increased power, more knockback on their strongs, and access to a new, very powerful, attack.
* WolverineClaws: Uses these for most of their regular attacks.

!!Made by: [=SleepyPlayer16=]
* AwesomeBackpack: Her backpack seems normal, but seems to be a BagOfHolding, can become a HelicopterPack, and Liz even attacks with it for her Down Aerial.
* BagOfHolding: Her backpack has several large gadgets inside, ranging from a megaphone, to a boxing glove, and a helicopter.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Throws explosive clocks in her Neutral Special, has a Megaphone pop out of her backpack for her up tilt, and swings the backpack itself downwards for her down air.
* HelicopterPack: Her backpack turns into one for her Up Special.
* GrappleMove: Her Side Special has her grab and throw opponents. She can even turn around before the throw!
* GuestFighter: From the as-of-now unreleased game "Time RPG".
* MusicalGameplay: An odd version. Liz's main gimmick is based on Rhythm, where performing attacks as her personal bar fills adds to her meter, but it is not in response to any kind of music.
* PracticalTaunt: Her taunt deals a very small amount of damage. The fact that it is a dab is even more embarrassing if you somehow get killed by it.
* RockersSmashGuitars: Her forward strong has her create a guitar out of TechnicolorFire and smash it.
* SlideAttack: Her down tilt.
* StatusBuff: If her meter is filled, Liz's next aerial attack (except Down Air, which gains more damage) gains vastly more knockback.
* TechnicolorFire: Uses cyan flames as part of some of her attacks.

!!Made by: Archytas
-1
* AnimateInanimateObject: A stop sign. Definitely not a normal one.
* FollowTheLeader: This character would start a trend of sorts with "cursed traffic signs", with characters such as Tamat, Segerak and Yebth following suit.
* EldritchAbomination: With all its glitched effects, and strange abilities such as screen wrapping and clipping through the stage terrain, it is not unreasonable to expect this to be some kind of incomprehensible creature.
* MeaningfulName: "Mojibake" is a Japanese term for corrupted characters as a result of being displayed with an incorrect character encoding method.

!!Made by: Giik
A rioter from the timeline that Clairen left. Notable as one of the first complex characters on the Workshop. For info on him as an official Rivals character, click here.
* AscendedFanon: One of four Workshop characters to be promoted to base roster status as revealed in the Rivals Direct 3. This extends to the general canon as well, as he got to be featured in the Tales of Aether comic series.
* BatterUp: Uses a bat with nails in it for their down special, which can be a substitute for a traditional strong.
* BigBulkyBomb: One of the available bomb types. It takes a long time to explode, but its explosion is very powerful.
* BlindedByTheLight: One of their bomb types is a flashbang, which stuns enemies.
* FatalFireworks: Their firecrackers are an available weapon, causing multiple explosions in quick succession which can be good for juggling enemies.
* FlareGun: Uses one in their side special, causing an explosion a far distance away. It isn't that strong, but can be useful for detonating their bombs from a distance.
* MadBomber: They're quite angry, and are fond of throwing bomb.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Instead of having traditional strong attacks, his strongs will have him throw a bomb in a particular direction. This bomb's effects are dependent on what is picked from Neutral Special.
* MothMenace: He's an anthropomorphic moth.
* ThrowDownTheBomblet: Again, uses bombs for their strong attacks.

!!Made by: Giik
* BotanicalAbomination: It has bones growing from it, in some attacks its cap opens to reveal a mouth, plus it has rather unsettling animations and bizarre mechanics.
* CastFromHitpoints: Neutral Special damages Mycolich slightly when used. Downplayed since it heals it back if it hits.
* CombatTentacles: Many of its attacks use their roots in this fashion.
* GreenThumb: Is able to grow more mushrooms, as well as various vines to attack.
* FungusHumongous: A mushroom about the size of a person.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Has rather bizarre mechanics revolving around manipulating its percentage: Neutral Special spends some health but heals it back if it hits, Side Special temporarily sets an enemy's percent to zero, and Down Special places a mushroom that absorbs any percent you take for a while.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: In a WorldOfFunnyAnimals, this is a sentient mushroom with bones.
* TentacleRope: More of a vine rope, but it uses its roots like this in its up and back aerials. It can even latch onto platforms.

!!Made by: [=GrenadesInSpades=]
* ArbitraryGunPower: Their pistol is weaker than hitting enemies with a grenade. It is faster, though.
* DeathFromAbove: Their aerial grenade trap will eventually fall, and can explode for good damage on enemies.
* DoNotRunWithAGun: Averted, one of their options while behind cover has them rush forwards while constantly shooting their pistol.
* FiringInTheAirALot: A weaponized variant with their grenadeless Up Strong.
* GunFu: Their grenadeless moveset uses both hand-to-hand combat and short-ranged pistol shots.
* GrenadeSpam: He can throw grenades rather quickly, but it can be rather predictable and lead to an easy parry on their opponent's part.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Takes a page from the Demoman and uses a stick grenade as a melee weapon.
* StanceSystem: Essentially has two movesets: with their grenade, which has stronger and slower attacks, and without, which has faster but weaker attacks.
* ThatRussianSquatDance: Their taunt if they don't have their grenade equipped. It can last as long as they want and can move during so, too.
* ShoutOut: Has several references to VideoGame/TeamFortress2, such as the way they use their grenade, one of their palette swaps, and they have a ThatRussianSquatDance taunt.
* ShootingAtYourOwnProjectiles: Pressing the special button while their grenade is in the air will have them shoot it, detonating it early.
* TakeCover: Their grenadeless side special, if on the ground, has them take cover, giving them a couple of options.
* TrapMaster: Down Special without their grenade has them either plant a grenade on the ground, or attach one to a parachute. Both of these traps will explode if an enemy gets close enough.
* ViolationOfCommonSense: Again, uses a stick grenade as a melee weapon, and it can even explode in their hands if they use certain attacks.

!!Made by: Sprite Star
A mouse from the mountains with dazzling fighting prowess. For info on her as an official Rivals character, click here.
* AscendedFanon: She was one of the four Workshop characters to be promoted to the base game's roster. She even got featured in Dungeons of Aether.
* Expy: Takes cues from the likes of Ryu in her moveset in terms of design philosophy.
** Sprite Star also cites Makoto, Enkidu and Leo as design influences.
* GemstoneAssault: Uses a large crystal to control the stage or pummels enemies with her jewel-encrusted fists.
* GlacierWaif: She's not that much bigger compared to other fighters, but is a MightyGlacier. Must be the gauntlets.
* MightyGlacier: She's rather slow and heavy, but she has great power and burst movement to overcome this weakness.
* PowerCrystal: Her Neutral Special's crystal has this vibe, as Olympia can jump to it to move around, have it create a bright flash that stuns enemies, or just explode.
* Shotoclone: Subverted. While she has a projectile, it only serves to summon her crystal, her uppercut attack is actually a RollingAttack, and she uses a Shoryuken to dash forwards instead of go high in the air.
* StanceSystem: Downplayed. Down Special has her assume a stance with several different options for follow-up attacks.
* RollingAttack: Her Up Special is one, it deals repeated hits to carry foes upwards before ending with one final kick.

!!Made by: Muno
* BadassBiker: One of his main gimmicks is his ability to mount a motorcycle, changing up his movement stats.
* CarFu: More like Bike Fu.
* CoolBike: His honeycycle, which can work as both a movement option, a manner of attack, and as a trap.
** Post-rework, his honeycycle and billiard ball are now one and the same, transforming between the two forms depending on the attack. He can even teleport to the ball while it's out by performing an attack that uses the bike.
* ChargedAttack: Down Special, wherein Otto can charge up a swing with his bike. He can also move and jump while charging. Neutral Special also works like this, abeit more closely to Pac-Man's Neutral Special where each charge level has a different knockback angle.
** Post-rework, Otto only has the neutral-special charge, with only three levels of charge instead of eight like the move originally had.
* CombatCueStick: Swings a pool cue, which he uses in many ways for his attacks.
* EasterEgg: Like Trummel and Alto, he has codecs available for a select group of characters. Unlike Trummel and Alto, the codecs are not made by the character creators. In addition, when on his bike, when against certain characters there will be a bobblehead in their likeness on his HUD.
* Expy: Takes cues from both Pac-Man and Wario.
* FoeTossingCharge: His pre-rework forward and back airs are shoulder bashes, a la VideoGame/Land.
** Post-rework, his dash attack is a shoulder bash. A later update also brought back his pre-rework back air.
* GroundPound: Performs one for his Down Aerial pre-rework and his Down Special post-rework.
* IKnowMaddenKombat: Fights with Billiards equipment, such as billiard ball projectiles and hitting foes with a pool cue.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: In addition to his pool cue, he also uses billiard balls and a bass in some attacks.
* MeteorMove: One of his billiard balls can spike enemies.
* PinballProjectile: His billiard balls will bounce off of the ground, walls, or enemies.
* RollingAttack: Rolls in a ball of honey for his down tilt.

!!Made by: roboshyguy
A duo of cooks consisting of Po (the shrimp) and Gumbo (the alligator).
* ChefOfIron: Their gimmick centers around their cooking pot, which can be hit around and used to catch and "cook" opponents, making an unique meal out of them(provided the Workshop character has one). Hitting it with Gumbo's attacks will add to the pot's spice meter, and Po can be thrown on it to prepare the meal, turning the pot into a time bomb of sorts.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: A chef fighter can easily be imagined using a frying pan or knives. A whole cooking pot? Maybe not so much.
* EasterEgg: The meals prepared after the pot finishes cooking opponents are unique depending on the character. If a Workshop character doesn't have an unique meal, it'll simply use one of Gumbo's default dishes.

!!Made by: [=RubyNights=]
A singer who inhabits the timeline that Clairen's from, using a special frequency of song to move and attack opponents. She is the first of the "Diamonds in the Rough" pack to be released.
For info on her as an official Rivals character, click here.
* AscendedFanon: One of four Workshop characters to be added in the base roster as canon fighters.
* AssistCharacter: Summons a bodyguard for her side special, who will attempt to grab opponents.
* TheDiva: She's a famous singer with a sassy demeanor, which is apparent in her standard poses, her attacks and her taunts (see "Mic Drop" below).
* Expy: Takes several cues from Peach in her moveset, including sharing her hover gimmick and having a similar down aerial.
* KickChick: Many of her attacks involve kicks.
* MakeMeWannaShout: Her Forward Air and Strongs have this vibe, with Pomme attacking with a powerful sound wave.
* MicDrop: Her taunt. It can actually deal damage to opponents if they're close enough.
* MusicalAssassin: Sings at a special frequency, both to move around and attack.
* MusicIsEighthNotes: Her music attacks are generally represented as Eigth Notes. She even throws a music note as a projectile in her Neutral Special.
* PowerFloats: Just like Peach in VideoGame/uperSmashBrosmash, she can float while in the air.
* PracticalTaunt: Her taunt can deal a small amount of damage to opponents.
* VideoGameFlight: Her hover gets upgraded to this if she's in her song field, allowing her to freely move in any direction. She also has a single-direction flight for her Up Special.

!!Made by: Archytas
* AnimalMecha: A human-sized one, but a mechanical kangaroo.
* BattleBoomerang: His Side special has him throw one out, which slowly moves towards him, making it a deadly form of stage control. He can even change places with it by using Up Special.
* DamnYouMuscleMemory: This can happen often, as his Up Special isn't a standard recovery, but has him swap places with his star, or throw the star diagonally upwards if there isn't one active. The main way to recover is to first fast fall, then use Neutral Special.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Has several non-standard gimmicks, as for starters, he relies on a meter for double jumps and his recoil boost attacks, but gains more meter by landing aerial attacks. Down Strong also isn't a traditional attack per-se, but instead has him constantly rocket backwards.
* RecoilBoost: Done very liberally with his jets. A good chunk of his attacks blow him in the opposite direction he attacks.
* RocketBoots: Built in ones, and used very liberally both to attack and move.
* Teleportation: Teleports for his Up Special, swapping places with his star.

!!Made by: ravyn
A living walk signal sign. While it seems innocent enough, Tamat carries alongside her bundles of static, and can morph the signal on her into what seems to be a face. Whatever Tamat is, she isn't a normal sign.
* AlternateRealityGame: Was the subject of one, that spanned over multiple creations, sites, videos and images, culminating in a puzzle that had to be solved via a stage. Completing the ARG resulted in her release. Popular ROA YouTuber Zetta goes more in depth in their video.
* AnimateInanimateObject: As opposed to other ROA characters, which are usually some form of animal, Tamat is a corrupted walk signal.
* EldritchAbomination: While resembling a walk signal sign, Tamat is clearly other worldly, with her moveset consisting of TV static, tentacles and garbled audio, giving the impression of a monster.

!!Made by: Djentalist
* AllThereInTheManual: His backstory can be seen in his reveal trailer video.
* ArmCannon: Has one that resembles a volcano on one of his arms. He uses it to fire blasts of flame and lava.
* Fireballs: His Up Strong fires one from his shell, while his placeable volcanoes periodically fire them. They gain in size and power if they pass through his wall.
* LongRangeFighter: Targma's rather slow, but makes up for it with great zoning options courtesy of his volcano and magma balls.
* MadeOfExplodium: His magma balls, though they have to be remotely detonated to explode.
* MagmaMan: Primarily uses lava to fight.
* Revenge: His main backstory. His mother was executed by the Flame Empire army, and years later he infiltrated their ranks and gathered the soldiers that were responsible to be killed in a volcanic eruption.
* PinballProjectile: The magma ball created from their Neutral Special bounces all over the place, and can be knocked around by attacks. Targma can even place a wall that is only there for the magma balls to bounce off of.
* PracticalTaunt: His taunt isn't much of one, its main purpose is to detonate his magma balls.
* TrapMaster: They can place down miniature volcanoes that periodically shoot fireball projectiles, a wall that empowers their fireballs and acts like a wall to their magma ball, and short-lived puddles of lava.

!!Made by: Muno
A duo consisting of a snail and a cloud. Trummel's the snail, Alto's the cloud.
* AnimateInanimateObject: Alto is a sentient cloud.
* AllLowercaseLetters: trummel speaks this way and rarely uses punctuation as if hes someone texting or chatting on the internet
* BashBrothers: Both Trummel and Alto fight at the same time, taking turns to attack.
* CaughtInTheRain: Weaponizes this - Trummel and Alto's Down Special has Alto rain down on opponents, as well as causing any placed clouds to rain as well. In addition to dealing damage, this originally inflicted their special Soak status effect, though this was removed for the overhauled version of the duo.
* EasterEgg: By holding taunt for a couple seconds, or pressing Down and Taunt while in practice mode, the two will initiate a character-specific codec. Modders can even make their own codecs for their own characters.
* ImprobableWeaponUser: Several. A drumstick, a saxophone, a watch, a parasol, a magnifying glass, you name it.
* MakingASplash: The two have several water attacks, most of them courtesy of Alto.
* MechanicallyUnusualFighter: Pre-rework, they lacked a traditional air dodge, with Trummel jumping off a cloud after dodging, placing the cloud as a trap and gaining height, with the downside of putting Trummel into helpless state. Secondly, they could freely move during the startup of their strong attacks, which most other characters cannot.
** Post-rework, they now have a normal air dodge, but their strong attacks are all projectiles. Forward strong has them fire a revolver, like their old side special, up strong has them throw a molotov like their old up special, and down strong has them send out a wind-up duplicate of Trummel that explodes on contact or after moving a certain distance.
* MolotovCocktail: Their up strong (up special pre-rework) consists of Trummel throwing one, though it just is a watery explosion than lighting on fire.
* MusicalAssassin: Their Neutral Special consists of playing a horn. If the move hits an enemy while there are clouds active, the clouds will become trumpets and home in on the opponent.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: Some of the Codec conversations imply Trummel's smarter and more articulate than he lets on, befitting his occupation as a detective.
* RevolversAreJustBetter: Trummel's forward strong (side special pre-rework) has Trummel pull out a revolver and shoot it. It has notable startup, but the projectile is fast and powerful.
* ShapeshifterWeapon: Alto does this often for the attacks he does, such as forming a muscular arm or a drill.
* StatusEffects: The original, pre-rework version of the duo had a special "Soak" status effect, which causes enemies to be stunned when they are next hit by any special that isn't Down Special (Which applies the status)
* Troll: Trummel is characterized and speaks like a typical internet troll, constantly heckling everyone around him.
* WeatherManipulation: A small-scale version. The two can place clouds and make them rain.
** Post-rework, these clouds serve a different purpose. While they still enhance Trummel and Alto's neutral special, it is now possible to enter a SuperMode by landing on a cloud during their new up-special or side-special. During this mode, Alto becomes a thundercloud, and all of Trummel and Alto's strongs become alternate versions that lose their projectile properties, but can be used while midair. These alternate versions come at the cost of dealing self-inflicted damage, and Trummel and Alto are left helpless afterwards

!!Made by: Anguish
* AllThereInTheManual: Her lore is only available on her Steam Workshop page. Or at least, it used to be.
* BattleBoomerang: Valkyrie's side special throws one, inflicting one of her two status effects or changing the effect of her totems.
* ElementalShapeshifter: Seems to transform into a ball of energy for her Up Special.
* LaserBlade: An axe variant.
* LightningBruiser: Heavy, hard hitting, and surprisingly fast for her size, though her absolutely massive hurtbox also makes her prime combo fodder and makes it difficult for her to get to safety once she's disadvantaged.
* Psychopomp: She guides the spirits of the Harbor Guard into the afterlife, as said on her steam workshop page.
* StatusInflictionAttack: Prior to her rework, she could inflict one of two status effects, which cause enemies to either heal Valkyrie on hit or take extra damage when hit by her axe attacks. Her new moveset only features the latter.
* StealthPun: She is a large medium. Nothing small about her.
* TailSlap: Many of her normal attacks utilize her tail to attack.
* TrapMaster: Can place a totem that creates a field that constantly applies the effects of her statuses onto anyone inside.
** Post-rework, the totem no longer applies the status effect, though her specials now interact with it in different ways.
