* From Chapter 5: HumongousMecha vs Bloodthirster! Black's mech ends up being [[CurbStompBattle ''soundly'' defeated]].
** Which is followed by [[TalkingTheMonsterToDeath Black managing to convince said Bloodthrister to turn on Eliphas's army]]. ''With words alone''!
* Chapters 11 and 12: Black and General Lucas Alexander [[EnemyMine team up]] to save Kaurava from Exterminatus by the Blood Ravens. By the end of the battle, Black has control of the ''Litany of Fury'' and Kyras is somewhere in the Warp.
** Lucas becomes ''infamous'' throughout the Imperium for being a person who ''boarded a Battle Barge with a Baneblade''.
** Ozman screwing with the onboard teleporter, sending enemy Terminators into places they really don't belong. Also crosses over with Funny.
--->"And done. I put them in the barrels of the starboard macro-cannons, which should fire any second now..." As if on cue, the guns fired. This time, however, a series of massive explosions that [sic] shook the entire vessel. The cannons' ammunition must have detonated while still inside the barrel. Probably due to a collision with suits of comically misplaced Terminator armor. "Filthy mutant, they said. You're lucky they're letting you live, they said. How could your witchcraft stand up to a mighty bolter, they said. [[SuddenlyShouting WELL, THIS IS HOW]]!" Then, realizing he was not alone, Ozman cleared his throat. "Ahem. Sorry, general."
** During the fight with Kyras, Alexander grabs the nearest weapon and (with Black's assistance) uses it to knock Kyras into a Warp rift. The weapon in question was a Space Marine's thunder hammer. Keep in mind that the general is a baseline human, and that he should've had trouble lifting the thing in the first place, never mind swinging it with that much force.
* Orkanis's debut: [[CoolVsAwesome Fighting the Nightbringer]] (or at least a shard of the C'tan). He wins.
* When we first see him, Thomas has managed to kill eight crazed zealots with a stubber ([[ImprobableAimingSkills all]] [[BoomHeadshot headshots]]) in defense of his mother (even if Black mistakenly attributes the kills to said mother) and jury-rig a working defibrillator from random electronics.
* Thomas has one in his interlude (Chapter 27), when he [[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu gets an impressive burn in on]] the Emperor.
