* [[DuelingShows Dueling Fan Fiction]]: 2 and a half years later, another Anime/DigimonAdventure02 remake is fully established called Fanfic/Digimon02TheStoryWeNeverTold that has a much more cynical and darker version of the canon and follows more closely towards the canon episodes.

* HilariousInHindsight: When Demon finally decides to unleash his full power and beats up Shaun, the other Digidestined and their partners show up, and just when you think there will be an epic confrontation, Piedmon one-shots Demon using his soul banishment who then reveals to be [[spoiler: Myotismon]] in disguise who turns out to have powers even greater than that of Zeedmilleniummon only to be defeated in just two chapters. [[spoiler: Try replacing Demon with [[InvincibleVillain Madara]], Piedmon with [[TheDogWasTheMastermind Black Zetsu]], and Myotismon with [[{{God}} Kaguya]] from the ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' universe and you will find a lot of similarities with the act.]]

* MartyStu: Shaun prior to the Umbradevimon arc. In his first appearance, he single-handedly defeats all 31 of the Emperor's Digimon that are about to kill Davis, knows all about the Emperor's movement, identity & abilities and uses it to help the entire Digidestined, has (Agumon) which is Tai's Digimon, the Crest of Wisdom and a Mega transformation, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and beats up Davis in a hand to hand combat without so much as to flinching]]. While his status does began to slip overtime, it is only after the Digimon Emperor arc ended that his status is subverted eventually deconstructed, [[spoiler: Shaun is essentially a KidFromTheFuture who attempted to time travel to the past in order to stop himself from releasing Demon only to time travel way back into the past; about nine earth years before Anime/DigimonAdventure begins and is stucked over there for 5765 years gaining massive amounts of combat experience and hardships and turning him from an innocent kid into a battle-hardened adult within a child's body]].

** Davis primarily has a distinct personality compared to his own idol Tai as well having a lot more characterization and CharacterDevelopment when [[FlatCharacter compared]] to the [[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 original]]. The fan fiction portrays Davis as a intelligent but naive and reckless kid who tries to gain Kari's attention and become a worthwile leader. Also he gains an evil Digivolution on himself into Darkheart due to his jealousy and hatred for TK which changed him from a hot-header kid into a truly competent leader. It helps that the other Digidestined never abandons him or laugh behind is back such as during the assault on the Emperor's base (Where Davis is the one who gives the idea of infiltrating the fortress) and has his crush Kari treat him much nicer than her canon incarnation.

* EvilIsCool: [[KnightOfCerebus Darkheart]], an [[OriginalCharacter original villain]] of the Zero 2 universe, is so deliciously evil with his own [[DeadpanSnarker snarky and mocking comments]] as well as being the [[NearVillainVictory villain that comes closest to defeating the Digidestined]] that both the fanbase and the author himself ended up liking him.

** The inclusion of ''Franchise/Halo'' Digimons such as Elitemon and Gravemon. Some fans believe that they fit into the story, gives the story a layer of politics and diplomacy and since this is the Digital World, many Digimons based on other series can exist. Others believe that they were shoehorned into the story, only introduced during the last two-thirds into the story and does not fit with the MythArc of the Zero 2 universe, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and they never called their attack names]].

* JerkassWoobie: Demidevimon in this fan fiction, even though he is the same Digimon that pesters the separated Digidestined and reborns into a minion of Demon, he only became a bad guy he is completely abandoned by his own partner out of fear of his mega form after Demon is defeated, ruining any and all CharacterDevelopment placed upon him. He spent the next 28 years in which 4 of them are Digital years feeling lonely, unable to find any trace or presence of his own partner. After reuniting with [[spoiler: Joshua]] after so long, he immediately vents all of his anger at the man for his abandonment with [[BerserkerTears tears in his eyes]].

** The Digimon Emperor crosses it in the eyes of the Digidestined when he fired a ''freakin'' [[NukeEm nuke]] towards Little Edo just to kill Shaun. [[spoiler: For him to be EasilyForgiven by the Digidestined later is insulting to the readers]].

** Yolei is much less annoying compared to how she was portrayed. Her hot temper and headstrong personality which is based upon her competition with her siblings is to cover up her own sensitive, weak, and caring side which she shows more around Ken. Speaking of Ken, her romance and relationship with him is given more screentime here and not some [[StrangledByTheRedString cheap pairing epilogue]] like the canon.
** Cody is always portrayed as a mature and silent kid but we have a bit more explanation and depth for this. Under Hiroki's advice on not to cry so as to shoulder his own mother Anna's pain, Cody maintains a tough and wise barrier who tries as hard as possible not to break down in tears to become a reliable and humble support in front of everybody.

** Upon Darkheart and Mummymon's defeat, the Digidestined decides to head towards Umbradevimon's base. The devil makes a vow that [[VillanousLastStand he will crush them]].\\

'''Instead''': He tells Darkheart his true reason for stalling him, not only making Shaun's last gamble [[SenselessSacrifice completely in vain]] but also become a part of the Dark angel's power after Darkheart punches him and absorbs him. NiceJobBreakingItVillain

'''Instead''': The Emperor only used this ability to kidnap Gatomon, the 2 Agumons and Patamon for his ''Project Chimera'' but never considers to kill the partners until everything that he owned lost. Umbradevimon also only used this ability to kidnap Ken to create tension (Which again would have worked if he hadn't made the mistake above) and to summon his Black gears to relay a threatening message.

'''Instead''': He tells Darkheart his true reason for stalling him, not only making Shaun's last gamble a complete waste of time, but also become a part of the Dark angel's power after Darkheart punches him and absorbs him.

'''You'd Expect''': When Ken, Yolei and Cody confronts the fused mega about what really happened, he tells a made-up story of how Ken's HeelFaceTurn is nothing more than a lie and that he is willingly working for Umbradevimon for a long time in hopes of making the Digidestined suffer, making Yolei and Cody more likely to Ken a complete traitor. Surely the tension between Ken will dramatically increase and renders the Digidestined unable to work together for a long time.\\
'''Instead''': He tells them what really happened with Ken which ruins any tension that the Digidestined regarding Ken have for him. Him torturing them does nothing to compensate for Devimon's stupidity.

** In this fanfiction Davis is turned from a ButtMonkey IdiotHero into a full on Woobie, first he is constantly suffering at the hands of his own comrades, especially [[HairTriggerTemper Yolei]] who enjoys picking on him, never seems to appreciate his hard work and [[UngratefulBastard is always putting him down for the smallest thing]], he also experienced a PainfulTransformation when he obtained his own crest as it is carved into his own body instead of being turned into a trinket like the other Digidestined. His jealously and hatred for TK for spending more time with Kari allows Umbradevimon to put him through a MindRape which turned him into the [[OmnicidalManiac homicidal]], [[TheUnfettered ruthless]] [[BloodKnight fighting]]- killing-machine [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Darkheart]] and he has to watch him assimilate and tortures the entire Digidestined [[ForTheEvulz just because he can]]. And just when you thought he has gotten a break [[spoiler: his parents ended up being indirectly murdered by Gravemon resulting him and Jun becoming orphans]]. [[spoiler: Oh, and he also have to share an apartment with Yolei after the series ended whom to him, is the most annoying girl to ever existed and vice versa]].

** Umbradevimon crosses it when he orders Arukenimon and Mummymon to torture the entire New Generation Digidestined save for Davis and TK just to give them a message

* CharacterRerailment: The author did a massive effort in order to make [[spoiler: Myotismon]] a threat again; First, in this story, he has no relation with Oikawa at all, instead he ressurects himself thanks to the Dark Crystal he obtained in the wormhole sectors. He is also stated to have power even greater than Zeedmilleniummon and shows it when he curb-stomps the entire Digidestined [[spoiler: and destroys (Agumon's) soul]]. His [[LotusEaterMachine ''Mental Illusion'']] is changed from revealing the Digidestined's greatest desires into their own worst fear. Finally, he does not get take down by the Children TalkingTheMonsterToDeath but rather by the Digidestined fusing together and fights him head on. [[ArsonMuderAndJaywalking And his name is changed from Malomyotismon to Belialmyotismon]] since the author associates Malo with mayonaise, thus making it difficult to take him seriously.

** Darkheart cements himself as well, a [[JustForPun dark hearted]] being when he destroys the entire Primary Village out of sheer sadism.
